- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2022This book was just as good, if not better, than the first book. It was a different feeling than the first book and a lot slower burn for me. It wasn’t as tense as the first book but held my attention just the same.
Dr. Evander “Patch” Cruz has suffered great loss in his life. Because of that loss he joined the Heaven’s Guardians MC. The first time he meets Alaska, he costs her her job (although she never does find out the role he played in that). 18 months later, Alaska gets a job at the MC’s garage. She has a lot of trouble following her and has only tried to do what’s best for her deaf daughter. Patch still feels a connection to the single mom and when he finds out more of her story he feels even more for her, both love and guilt that his actions have put her on the path she’s on. Although Patch feels an instant connection to Alaska and Grace, he tries to push her away. It’s only after he almost loses them that he realizes he can’t deny their connection. Alaska has her own demons and is one strong willed woman. She doesn’t ever sit back and wait, which gets her into some sticky situations, but she also knows when to call in backup.
I loved Alaska and Patch together. They fit perfectly and her strength is what made her so perfect for the broken doctor. Patch’s connection with Grace is so sweet. This book was a little different than the first because Alaska was so independent, but it still had all the romance and suspense to keep you interested.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2023When I tell you this book exceeded all of my expectations, I mean it EXCEEDED them. The grief I felt during this book was ROUGH, but man did it hurt so good. I truly love books that really make me feel something. Whether that emotion being the warm fuzzies or a darker emotion, I truly commend writers that are able to reach us in such a way.
When I tell you, the tears this book almost had me crying were so real. Evander Cruz caught my eye in Washed In Blood, and I was eager for his story. We got everything we needed and more. The love between Alaska and Evander (Patch) was exactly what I wanted. I liked that their love wasn’t insta, though he was obsessive (gotta love that). They had to make it through some really tough stuff but they managed. Both characters are so deserving of their happy ending. By the end of the book I know you’ll love them and their story as much as I did.
I’d give this a 2/5 🌶️ as there is only a few detailed intimate scenes but what’s there is perfect. It doesn’t feel unnecessary or forced, which I enjoy.
A couple downsides (although they are the reason I rated it 4 ✨ and not 5, they shouldn’t keep you from reading because it is still a great book). One, I noticed a few minor errors throughout but nothing too distracting. Also, I felt the ending was a little rushed. I wished to have seem a little more connection between Evander and Alaska but I was REALLY excited for that last chapter from Bullet which makes me want to read his story immediately. Caught in a good book loop I guess!
All in all, 10/10 read in regards to characters, story, and writing.
Some popular tropes you’ll find:
-obsessed/possessive H
-Savior/Damsel
-Doctor
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2024It was a great book overall. But my favorite part was the inclusion of the deaf community and the accuracy and respect that went into properly representing them. The book not only displayed the struggles of hearing parents of children with hearing impairments, but also the things that could be done and steps that could be taken to ensure their disability didn't rule their life or keep them from living a happy and enriched life.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2023These books have it all. Romance, Alpha males, strong females and lots of Great sex!! I highly recommend for everyone to read!! Just wish they were in audiobook form!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2024I like the idea of the story but there were some major details that were too much for me. One, the progression of Van and Alaska’s relationship. They had maybe two major interactions before they declared they were in love with each other.
Two, the whole deaf angle for Grace. I’m by no means and expert but there could have been more research done with the cultural and medical implications of a CI. Six is a tad old for the type of auditory degeneration described. Not to mention the cultural aspect of the Deaf community was pretty much glossed over even though that’s a huge part of the Deaf experience, especially in a child.
Third, the progression of homelessness was almost but not quite realistic. You mean to tell me that Alaska couldn’t contact ANY state resources or community services for food, job placement and shelter? Food drives/pantries are everywhere (at least in the states), job help through the libraries or literal agencies exist and are accessible. Shelter is much more difficult especially with a child but there’s really nothing that’s stated that she did much for a year and a half. It’s again, glossed over and implied rather than communicated.
Additionally there were some grammar, formatting and syntax errors. Again, great story idea but the execution and follow through could have been stronger.

2.0 out of 5 stars addicted
Okey … it’s oficial !!! This is getting better and better and I am officially in love with this boys !!!
I love that this book deals with Patch’s issue more deep then Priests one but I still think that scratches just the surface with those guys and could go a lot deeper and developed more.
However the growing in feelings and the relationship with Patch and Alasca was soooo much cute and real and I really fall in love with them !!!
Alasca is kind of stupid in put herself in bad situations all the time but her spitfire personality is cute and Patch ???? There’s no wrong with this guy … he is damn perfect !!!
This book made me fall in love with ALLL the guys now !! Cause in the first book priest and Angel get my heart and Demon had my attention but in this one ??? Patch and Bullet gain my heart too ! Patch is perfection … there’s no wrong with him

4.0 out of 5 stars So good
This is so far from what I'd normally expect from an MC based romance and yet it works. These members all have a difficult and traumatic past, which brings them together for a common good.

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked it
Cute and heart warming with a twist of suspense and a kick ass Momma bear. Looking forward to the next instalment Bullets story.
