It's Christmas in small town, Carlton Grove...
In this holiday love story, Belinda Page, a single mom of a very intelligent four-year-old daughter, is at her wits end, trying to keep up with her baby genius. When the child throws herself into a lake to rescue a puppy, Belinda is frantic. She dearly loves her four year old daughter, Hollie, and is saving every penny she can to get her into a pre-school where she can be challenged and not bored like she is in her present pre-school. They go to the park and Hollie jumps in the lake to save a puppy and a man rescues them. He pretends the puppy is his when Lindy tells Hollie she can't keep her. Promising to meet them on weekends in the park so Hollie can play with the puppy, he becomes an important person in their lives. This story is full of love and has a very happy ending.

    One of my "do buy" authors, BUT her "heartwarming" series is lacking in plot. These books can be summarized in a sentence, or at most two, with NO suspense and little character development. It is a serious disappointment from an Author who is quite adept at crafting seriously addictive "series" full of interesting plot action, unique and interesting characters AND having surprises hide in her plots. I would skip the entire series. Inexpensive or not, they aren't worth the reading time.
