The Pointy Hat Brigade Kindle Edition
Allie Hartford has made a terrible discovery. Her husband of six years and the father of their young son has committed numerous infidelities. But she soon uncovers something even worse, and now it looks as though the daunting task of attaining a peaceful divorce is going to be the least of her problems.
Maisie Hall is a modest Fire witch who is comfortable in her life as a quilter, and happy as wife to the sweetest grumpy man in town. When a premonition visits her in the wee hours of the morning, she heeds its call, but has no idea just how much that vision is going to turn her life upside down.
And of course, no one in their little town of Bella Terra, Oregon is ready for the arrival of Allie's mother – the force of nature that is Vivian Stafford.
Allie must reach deep inside to find the strength she needs to reclaim her life and her freedom, but she's tapped into more than she bargained for this time, and much more than she is prepared to meet alone.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2016This book drew me in fast. I was not anticipating that. I'm not a big fiction reader, but when I'm on a plane I like to read fiction. I haven't been traveling but I did enjoy this book.
I'm also probably not in the target audience for such a book. I'm 30 years older than the main characters so not a normal connection. What I did find was that when I. started reading it didn't put it down. The author kept creating mystery in the lives of the characters. I had to keep reading to find the answers to the mysteries.
What I like about the characters were their connection to each other. Some of the connections we not strong at first, but as the story moved along the bonds of friendship grew stronger.
The addition of the magic spells added to my interest in the story, actually this surprised me as I'm not into the world of the super natural.
This book did helped me through the presidential election.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2016The Pointy Hat Brigade Is Fantastic! I love it! This is a book I will re-read many times, I will read it when I need a story that captivates me from the first page and when I need to be reminded that there are many types of magic in the world. The characters are incredible and I loved them instantly. (I even loved Vivian, she made me crazy, but she was supposed to make me crazy and that is what is brilliant about her.) This story and these characters are everything I have ever wanted in a book about friends, life, the twists and turns life takes, and the friendship "brigade" we all need to get through it. It is a must read!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2016This is more of a novel than a genre book. There is no mystery or romance as such. Instead it is a book about witches supporting witches, female in this case.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2016I loved this book from beginning to end. The characters, their stories and their combined story were well written, easily relatable (even for the non-magical) and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. In fact, I read it in one sitting because every time I tried to put it down I picked it back up immediately. I am absolutely in the target audience for this novel and not once did it disappoint. And the way magic is depicted is realistic and totally believable. The ONLY problem I have is that I'm going to have to wait for the next books in the series! Well done, K. Susanne Jones!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2016I am so relieved that The Pointy Hat Brigade is Book One in a series! I have grown so attached to the characters--they feel so real to me. And I'm thrilled that I won't be saying goodbye for too long. The Pointy Hat Brigade will draw you into the thick of things in the first few pages. My only complaint, if you could call it that, would be that I couldn't put it down, so lost a lot of sleep reading it. I really loved that the story is very relatable but has magical elements to make it even more interesting. Can't wait for Book Two!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2016If you're a binge reader and magic lover this book is not to be missed. Filled with interesting, relatable characters and set in a town that you can feel wrap around you like a cozy sweater, The Pointy Hat Brigade whisks you away into a world where magic is as accessible as a PB and J. Or maybe it doesn't so much whisk away as it does remind. Ms. Jones has tapped in to her own magic with this novel and I cannot wait to see where it flows from here!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2016This is such a fun book! I really could not put it down. It's such a fun, enjoyable read. I finished reading the book while at my kids swim lesson and totally cried in public. I can't wait to read more in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a fun and heartfelt read
Such a fun and heartfelt read!
Who says witches get a free pass from the trials and tribulations we all must face.
Interwoven with the compelling, honest, illuminating tale of women loving, leaving and growing through marriage and friendship, is a magical spell which draws you into the realm of sisterhood long before the last page is regretfully turned.
I'm already eagerly anticipating the arrival of book two in the series, to catch me up on the lives of the women I've come to know and love.
