Cruel Delights : A Dark Rejected Mates Romance (Predators & Prey Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 681 ratings

I escaped one prison only to wake up in a crueler one.

This time, I’m surrounded by light instead of darkness and a wicked captor bloodthirsty for revenge.

Solas makes Killian look like a saint now that I know what the Light Alpha truly intends to do with me, and for the first time in my life, I want the shadows to find me.

I want Killian, the cruel, seductive Dark Alpha who wrecks me into pieces every time he touches me, and Fenrik, the grumpy, protective fire wolf whose flames weld me back together again. I also want my best friend now more than ever, but only time will tell if Tristan made it out of the Dawnlands alive.

Or if I will, either.

With three powerful alphas on my side and the wrath of the gods, I think my chances for survival are high enough to wage war on the wolf who rejected me...and make him pay.

Loved how this book started off seamlessly from the 1st. There's alot more of twists and turns and alot more action. The cliffhanger did me in! Can't wait for book 3!

Definitely recommend, this was a fast easy read with a fresh take on fae, wolves, and even some biblical themes thrown in. I will be back for the third book when it comes out.

This book does end on a cliffhanger and is a slow build to the harem, so if you're okay with that I think you'll enjoy it as well.

The writing is great and the premise is amazing, but for the life of me I can’t get behind Zoriah’s character. I struggled through book one because I felt maybe she’s sheltered and young and several other excuses for her just not being smart, but alas, nope. I wanted to quit with book one but was curious to see if book 2 would show her growth, but I can’t even bring myself to get halfway through. Which is a shame because I looked forward to Tristan’s character. I encourage you to read and make your own decision, but Zoriah just isn’t for me.

This book moves really fast, which I like. FMC moves from damsel to kick-butt heroine in no time flat, which is another book bonus to me. Interested in reading book 3 for sure.

Shadow has plans, Fenrik has plans, Killian has, and So look as has plans... Poor Zoriah has no plans. Immortal lady needs to get with the program and start doing something. I cannot wait for the next story installment, maybe Zoriah will have a plan on being a master chess player. Good luck?!!

Book 2 carries on with Zoriah’s capture by Solas. Killian and Fenrick are searching for Tristan.

I suspect there is more to Solas than him being a light fae alpha so I can’t wait for book 3 coming out in March.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dark Paranormal Romance that Keeps you Hanging!!
Reviewed in Australia on February 28, 2022
Scarlett Snow had left us dangling on a cliffhanger at the end of the first book Wicked Rejection and it is from there that this book continues on, so if you haven’t read it you need to go back to the start of this great series. Predators and Prey is a rejected mate, enemies-to-lovers, reverse harem series and this book is the turning point in the relationship of Killian and Zoriah. This is a wolf shifter romance with dark elements, full of suspense, action and angst.

Cruel Delights was the book where things got done in regards to moving the plot forward, with revelations in regards to characters origins and motivations. The relationships are on a slow-burn in this book so don’t expect the dominant Killian to bust out as he tries to reconcile his new feelings for Zoriah and how they fit in with his brother Fenryk. Some major ideas are planted for the next book and of course a cliffhanger to cripple our hearts (lucky the next book is out already).

Predators and Prey pits the dark against the light and watches them battle with no regard for the fall out. I am loving the characters in this series and would recommend it for any paranormal fan who enjoys slow-burn romance or reverse harem.

5.0 out of 5 stars I already want the sequel
Reviewed in Brazil on December 30, 2021
I was looking forward to reading the sequel, as soon as it was available I went to read it and now I want the third book. I just thought this book was too small, I finished reading it very quickly and wanted more story, and also the interaction between the female character and the boys was very little in this book and I wanted more, but the story was still good and I'm looking forward to it. Know what lies ahead, I hope Tristan doesn't die, the poor man always liked her and never had the chance to be with her

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not great

Book 2 of the series, still have same problems as book 1. Sometimes from one scene it goes to another and you don’t get how it got there. Timing as well is not very good , or not properly explained. Killian character develop a little bit although not enough even after certain discoveries. Realms, or places like temples are not properly described and I think if the author focused a bit on that she could have a book of 300 pages. Filled rushed on a lot of places including character development or relationship between them. I would’ve like to see more of that. Sometimes you read that someone said something but you didn’t actually read it so you don’t know when it happened. I wasn’t sure if this book is wolf shifter or any supernatural you can image as including main character have or develop magic which is not enough explored. Back story is not told enough as well.A lot to be desired, lots of potential but because of all of the mentioned book 3 didn’t keep my attention until the end.
