Pregnant With Their Babes (Mermen of Aegeaus Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 282 ratings

When it becomes apparent that Prince Llyr of Aegeaus cannot stop the political wedding between himself and a tyrant-to-be, he races for the one place he thinks his father won’t easily find him—the surface. After ingesting a spell to give him human legs for seven days, he quickly has to figure out a way to make those seven transform into an eternity.

After nearly drowning in his new human form, he’s saved by a handsome captain and the darkly dangerous commander of a passing ship. The two close friends have sailed the high seas for over twenty years and had many adventures together. The escapade they enjoy most is sharing a third in their bed.

Unable to deny his curiosity—
Llyr has to find out how it feels to have sex without a tail—he sets off to seduce the gorgeous pair. But when it becomes apparent his mere presence pushes the lovers apart, he can’t risk destroying the love they have for one another just to appease his own needs.

Yet he can’t walk away from the men he’s mystically drawn to, either.

Once Llyr's father finally discovers his whereabouts and exposes the deadly consequences of his dalliances—will he choose to face the danger or run back home under the sea?

It was like the best X-Mas gift to myself! (LOL)
Kelex outdid herself, as she has so many times before. It was a shade of The Little Mermaid, but this version was better. Well, if you're into M/M or M/M/M - in this case, the latter. And these 3 men were a perfect fit.
There was a bit of angst from one more than the other two, and it was very understandable. But how can anyone hold out from Llyr? He was adorable with his fascination at everything on the surface!
Lots of adventure and heat - perfect for a swash-buckling tale! The MCs were hawt!
And, of course, with any mermaid story, I wish I could grow a tail. *sigh* (Maybe bitch slap a few sharks and then swim like hell...LOL!)
This story is definitely going into my 'To Be Re-Read' folder!
If you love mermen and mpreg, don't hesitate! Try this book! :o)

I loved this book. It was so good. Lots of feels, drama, intrigue, adventure, and most of all love. Great storyline and supporting characters and loveable main characters. I can't wait to read more about this new world and more mermen. I can't wait for book two to come out. I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program.

I just found out about this book when Kelex posted about getting back into this world so I decided to check it out. I absolutely loved this book. If you love a merman story that finds true love in mates that he is forbidden to every be with then this a book you will will definitely need to read.

The story is sweet and light, very reminiscent of Disney's version for Little Mermaid with the redhead mere with the controlling father, but thats where similarities end and Kelex takes it all to a very different direction.

There are one too many 'surprise!' moments in the books - to a point where you're anything but surprised by the end of the book when things continue to occur.
Overall the solutions are a little too deux ex machina for my taste, even for a fantasy book. It could be reasonably balanced if things will be explained in later books (especially Dagr's mother sudden reappearance, and his own magic wielding abilities -their source remains a mystery as all magic wielders appear to be female except for him and the trident carrying kings)

I think that overall its a fun read if you're looking for something fluffy.

Could be interesting to read more stories in that universe!
    Sequel should be interesting :)

3.5 stars, rounded up. I liked the main characters. I loved the relationship between Oz and Dagr. I liked it so much I could have enjoyed it without Llyr. Like he was an unnecessary extra for me, but whatever. What drove me absolutely crazy in this story is the weird physics bending. It made me nuts. The merman's tears can streak down his face or his eyes can fill with tears. Underwater. Or they drink wine and whiskey. Underwater. (I'm reminded of Futurama Bender's "the laws of science be a harsh mistress".) There's also this bit where a merman dies underwater and his body falls to the ocean floor, but the blood from his head wound seeps away in a logical watery fashion. I just need some consistency. I'm also not sure about size consistency. Llyr is man sized but his nanny was a seahorse that can fit in a glass fishbowl but can carry human size scrolls? Meh.

Honestly I'd dig a series of prequels with just Oz and Dagr sailing the seas for 20 years. Leave out the mermen and physics bending and I'd be all in.

Okay, there was a lot going on. Many characters to keep track of, which sometimes annoys me, but not this time. Everything was kept pretty seamless and there weren’t any loose ends leftover. I’d be interested in seeing what’s next for a few secondary characters but there aren’t any nagging “what happened to” questions. Main characters were well written and had depth. World building was detailed and believable for a fantasy!

I’m not going to think of all the things I should have done tonight that I didn’t because I just HAD to read this. It was amazing and perfect and I LOVE seeing how much Kelex is gifted in what she does (and how far she has come from when she started). I would describe this as the M/M/M version of The Little Mermaid, but that doesn’t even come close to doing this book justice. It was so much more than I imagined between the world, the characters, and the plot. If you like steamed-up male on male (on male) fantasy stories with a dash of mpreg for good measure (and a tiny, tiny bit of BDSM...really tiny), you will love this (and Kelex!) as much as I do.

Great book. The book made me feel happy and in the same time sad and tearing up. I loved to see, how two men lived their love for each other. And I was so sad for them both that they had to return home and loose this love for their duty. And they have a third one too. A little mermen, who escaped his fate to be human for a while. There are a lots of ups and downs, but finally they get their HEA and they can live their love for each other. Looking forward to read more of this series. I highly recommend this book.

For some reason I forgot i read this book so i read it again and this time rated it. I really did like this book as it very different to what i usually read as it was about Mermen. It was sad what the characters had to go through to be able to finally be together.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rather good

I quite like the story, and given the few and far between mer stories are, this one certainly holds to the quality more well-known ones.

I truly only had two issues whilst reading. One being the description of male mer genitals. The initial description in the book wasn't very clear and I feel like given pregnancy is involved the detail to descriptions of sexual organs should be clear to the reader.

The other wasn't so much an issue with stuff in the book but with the title itself. The title actually almost made me not want to read it. simply because it kind of feels as though it just tells you the story in a few words. I feel like 'The Prophecy' would make a more sensical book title for this story. Or even going with the classical naming of the main character as the title.

This was oddly reminiscent of The Little Mermaid, but the Enchantress was good and it had a lot more politics. I really enjoyed it, though, and couldn't put it down

Like with all books by Kelex I read so far, I greatly enjoyed reading this book. I loved the way she portrayed this world and how it came all together. I absolutely adored the epilogue, but I’d loved it even more if there were more merbaby scenes. I hope Kelex gets to write more mermen books soon.
