Primary Valor: The Forging of Luke Stone—Book #5 (an Action Thriller) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 680 ratings

“One of the best thrillers I have read this year.”
--Books and Movie Reviews (re Any Means Necessary)

In PRIMARY VALOR (The Forging of Luke Stone—Book #5), a ground-breaking action thriller by #1 bestseller Jack Mars, elite Delta Force veteran Luke Stone, 29 and the FBI’s Special Response Team are summoned when a teenage girl is taken captive and trafficked to a billionaire’s private retreat in South America. Luke is handed an impossible rescue mission, pitting one man against an army.

Making matters worse, behind it all may be something much greater, leading to the upper echelons of government, and to a national security crisis.

PRIMARY VALOR is a standalone, un-putdownable military thriller, a wild action ride that will leave you turning pages late into the night. The precursor to the #1 bestselling LUKE STONE THRILLER SERIES, this series takes us back to how it all began, a riveting series by bestseller Jack Mars, dubbed “one of the best thriller authors” out there.

Book #6 is also available!

Primary Valor was very intense. Jack Mars is getting better and better as an author. Luke is sent to bring a back a kidnapped 16 year-old girl from a suspected human trafficker on the billionaire's private island and fortress. The parallels with Epstein and Maxwell are undeniable.
The FBI sends along a babysitter and causes Luke to suspect Ed is not thinking straight and may not be as disciplined as he needs to be. Things go horribly wrong (there wouldn't be a Luke Story if it didn't) and Luke is breaching the fortress on his own.

Primary Valor's last 100 pages scorched my Kindle because I was reading so fast. I may have worn it out. Jack Mars is always a blind buy for me along with Ken Fite, Russell Blake and Michael Prescott. Luke Stone (or Agent Zero) would make a great Amazon or Netflix series. I hope they are paying attention. Jack Mars deserves to be a big-name author like Lee (now Andrew) Child, Michael Connelly, Jeffery Deaver or James Patterson. He creates suspense with the best of them. Those of you on the fence, trust me and take the plunge. Well done Mr. Mars. Keep churning them out. I am a fan for life.

Another good storyline from Mr. Mars ripped out of today's newspaper. Its sad to see different agencies fighting with each other instead of of fighting together for America goals. Can't wait to read the next book with Luke Stone.

I've been hooked on Stone and Slater since discovering this author. I would follow these characters to the ends of the earth!

I would never feel safer than when in their hands.

Excellent story. Quick read. Only problem with this and most of his books are the rehashing of things already hashed. I guess there has to be a certain number of words but describing the same scenery or events over and over gets tiresome. I have gotten pretty good at skipping sections that are just retelling the same thing and that makes for a much more enjoyable read.

This book 5 seems to be a book written because the predecessors were a success, and it was a chance to make money. It dos not have a story line or a delivery that measures up to Mars previous offerings in this series. Let’s hope book 6 is a return to the standard set. GE

This story hit the bricks running from the onset, and didn't let up until the end. Child Predators and slavery. Bad men in government and even worse men controlling the bad men in Government. Luke & Ed again saves the day, but in a surprising round-about fashion. An old trusted friend loses his life in the conflict. A very BAD man meets his end. And Luke and Ed have a HEA ending in this book. Bill Ryan, really needs to die in the next book in this series! Already pre-ordered the next book. Keep 'em coming Jack!

The last paragraph of this gripping tale is inspirational. Waiting is not the answer. We are the rain. It sums up the book and encourages everyone to make the effort to make a difference

People trafficking and corrupt politicians/government form the basis of this story and does make you think how close to the truth it could possibly be
Overall it's very entertaining. Moments of introspection but mainly all out action. An interesting falling out amongst the team could lead to some interesting future story line/sub plot
