L. Ann started with the Baxters and followed that with multiple series and genres. While her books feature paranormal, FBI, ex-military and Badass Bikers, L. The men fight for right in every book. Yes, they kill people. Yes, the MC shoots at the bad guys’ feet to cause them pain. Yes, some throw tampons at each other regularly. That being said, they do these things while stopping human trafficking and experimentation, bringing their world into legitimate businesses, fighting gangs to keep drugs away from their towns and kids, keep women sheltered safely while trying to stop domestic abuse. These are men that don’t leave a pack, team member or Brother behind. They don’t treat women as possessions and they don’t cheat. Respect takes on an honorable meaning. Women and kids are cherished. Everyone is looked out for and everyone is equal.

L. Ann has made amazing worlds, tackled the taboo subjects and made it easy to imagine living in a world where your protection comes from the vampires, shifters, freaky kids, albinos and orientals, military turned FBI and some Badass Bikers.

With readers writing about rereading the series over and over, she feels like she’s told her characters’ stories in a way that would make them proud. Every book will make you laugh, every book will make you angry for the wrong that happens in the world. Every book will make you cry for the pain that a character feels.

This is Darren Laponte-James’ story and his deep love for Eliza who was once a slave for the Outlaws. She proves her worth as HS on the New Police department and risks her life for her club and her man. The themes are dark in this one where she and her fellow Princes deal with rescuing sex slaves and the attack on her and Sheila. I loved this book. Darren is one of my favorite brothers and enjoyed his story.

    This book has so many twists and turns and ups and down all the way to the end! This story is so complex and the character development is great! I absolutely love how the series is evolving. The pairing of Darren and Eliza was brilliant. The tech in this story was brilliant. I love how Darren upgrades his tech and makes it better. Love Eliza's moniker of Kicker...she is great!     Loved Darren and Eliza's story. There are reference to rape with no graphic details, but may be an issue for some.

    Darren is the VP of he Princes. Born deaf, survived and abusive early childhood, he and his younger brothers were adopted by Danny and Kate LaPointe, and later by Ben James. Raised to not accept his limitations by a community who looked for way to help him be succeeded in anything he wanted to. With the help of a Mitch Baxter invention, he has a sense of sound. He is strong smart and like his father Danby, sees everything.

    Eliza is a survivor. She raised by a junkie mother and an step father with the Outlaws. She was protected by her step brother, but sold as a slave after his death. She gained her freedom when the MCs eliminated the Outlaws. She has put her self through college, taken classes I self defense and wants to join the PD top help women and children.

    Sheila brings Eliza in hoping to get her into HS with the Princes. She proves her worth and begins training. When she meets Darren there is a strong attraction. Tess tells them they belong and their is no arguing with that. Armed with family support, and Patches' list Darren sets out to make Eliza his old lady.

    The Princes and MC Baxter's are still under threat. MC allies become enemies. The Outlaws are still causing problems. Someone is attacking their network, Chin is suspect. Their is an unknown player in Washington has knowledge of seers and readers. The old ladies, Mitch and the gifted kids are at grater risk then before. Attempts are made. Sheila suffers the hands of 5 gang members, but comes out stronger.

    The Princes continue to grow and have learned from the mistakes their father's made. The Patents are learning to let go but still offer support and help when ever asked. They are united in protecting their communities, and working to make things better for all.

    This is the second book that I've read by this author. The story pulls you in from beginning to end. Darren is a strong character, a force to be reckoned with. He doesn't let his disability control him. He needs a woman that can be his equal and not someone scared of her own shadow. That's where Eliza comes in. Eliza has had a rough life and doesn't let what happen to her dictate her life. Instead of hiding in the shadows, she fights back and helps those that can't help themselves. The attraction between Darren and Eliza is intense. They are two people that have been hurt by life that heal each other. This story also shows the love they have for each other and for the Prince's. It's worth the read.

Darren and Eliza story grips the heart and makes you want to cheer them on. I like the fact that it was not predictable and that Darren found someone out of the "special kids" cluster. It gives more authencity and takes away the predictability of knowing who the partners are for each character in the series. Once you start reading you cannot put it down. A fabulous read

    Another fabulous book by L. Ann Marie. Her book are unique and incredibly engaging and a tad addictive. The character are complex, and endearing. I have re-read many of her books since first purchasing them and i'm sure The Princes of Prophecy series will be no exception. I look forward to the next book in this series!

    I first started by reading MC: Knight and then realised that I wanted the whole story and that started with the Baxter's .. although the first books didn't have a lot of crossovers they did set the scene for what is to come in the other books as the stories move along so their importance to the series' as a whole cannot be overstated

    I have just read the 22 books to date back to back in the order published on the author's website and decided to review them as a whole. I really don't think they stand well as stand alones as there are too many common threads, too much history and too much character crossover for that so it really is one (very) long story over a very long period of time with each series concentrating on a particular character group but including all of the others (except for the initial Baxter books which didn't have a lot of MC action but did set the scene for a lot of what is to come).

    I loved every book although of course some more than others but i am giving an overall five star rating. My biggest issue was that sometimes (often) i found it difficult to be sure exactly who was talking and had to reread sections to try to work it out. I think that perhaps what the author is seeing in her head moves a bit too fast to translate well to the written word for some of us (something like the thoughts of some of her characters - you need to read the stories to understand my thought process here!!)

    My other issue was keeping my head straight with the cast of thousands (and this is not an exaggeration) ... with each story building on to what has come before and what will come to be and with most characters continuing to play a place in each consecutive story I found myself constantly stopping to think - now who was that, whose child is that, whose partner is that???? but even amongst that confusion I loved the relationships and the strengths they provided.

    The author has an amazing imagination and has brought to the table a fantastic story that i will continue to read and at some point will def read again. I have always loved and had an interest in native american philosophy and also in paranormal and psychic connections and love the way these are ingrained into the books as the stories unfold.

    Although there were some things that caused me slight annoyances I cannot deny that as a whole this fits as one of the best series i have enjoyed. my thanks to the author for providing such a thoroughly engaging tale
