Pros & Cons of Deception Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 415 ratings

Their relationship is as fake as the names on their passports. The danger? That’s 100% real.

A notorious hacker with a score to settle. A courageous ex-hooker determined to see justice done. When their fake relationship puts both of their lives on the line, can they survive long enough to admit their very real love to each other?

♥♥♥♥♥

My name is Bond. Wesley Bond. I redistribute wealth - moving it from rich slime bags to infinitely more deserving people. My mission, should I choose to accept it, is to bring down a scumbag involved in human trafficking. I definitely choose to accept it.

With people’s lives on the line, I can’t afford distractions. Too bad I need a fake boyfriend for this job, and my only option is the infuriating and infinitely distracting Danny Monroe.

A smart, funny, ex-prostitute with an apparent aversion to wearing clothes, Danny’s favorite hobby is pushing my buttons. When the snark falls from his gorgeous mouth, I can’t decide if I want to shove him into the pool or shove him up against the nearest wall and shut him up the best way I know how.

Convincing the mark our relationship is real should be easy; convincing myself that it’s not might be impossible.

FIVE JOBS. FIVE CHANCES FOR REDEMPTION.

One thing’s for sure: these men are no angels.

From the Author

I grew up watching show liked Mission:Impossible & Charlie's Angels. Errol Flynn's Robin Hood was my favorite movie. I love anything with heist and swashbuckling. My love affair with heist movies continued through movies such as Ocean's Eleven and peaked with the TV show Leverage.
PROS & CONS is a mixture of all of those. But gay! These are funny books about serious subjects, and contain sarcasm, banter, the Amazing Josie, and, of course, happily ever afters.

After time spent raising children, earning several college degrees, and traveling the world with the U.S. State Department, she is returning to her first love - writing.

A dreamer and an idealist, Amy writes about people finding connection in a world that can seem lonely and magic in a world than can seem all too mundane. She invites readers into her characters’ lives and worlds when they are their most vulnerable, their most human, living with the same hopes and fears we all have. An avid traveler who has lived in big cities and small towns in four different continents, Amy has found that time and distance are no barriers to love. She invites her readers to reach out and share how her characters have touched their lives or how the found families they have gathered around them have shaped their worlds.

Born on Long Island, NY, Amy has lived in Los Angeles, London, and Bangkok. She currently lives in a town suspiciously like Red Deer, Colorado.

Delightfully intriguing, fun banter and steamy connections create a compelling story. I really love this group of guys and Wes and Danny will steal your hearts. Gruff on the outside and gooey on the inside is a great definition of Wes and Danny is just pure wonderful. Their connection sizzles and their hearts will make your warm and your lips smile.

I love these 'missions' that these guys are undertaking to right some wrongs and take down some bad guys. The story-line is tight and the characters are wonderful. i am enjoying the writing and the character development.

You will want to have read book one in this series for a better enjoyment and appreciation of this book. I am looking forward to ready book 3. So many awesome characters that i am so wanting their stories.

AE Wasp is now a solo author for this series and I did enjoy book one a lot. I’m no author but I can’t imagine it’s easy to take over characters and/or traits another writer helped create. I think this sequel furthered the series premise nicely. The growth of Wesley and Danny’s romance was well-paced and I really liked that we got to see them as they connected and Wesley’s defenses began to break down. They generated some decent chemistry. The action plot was much like book one insofar as the highly improbable level of talents each man is given and unlikely electronics and uses of technology. I was also side-eyeing antics and actions perpetrated while they’re supposed to be covert. Still a enjoyable read, light on steam but heavy on relationships and friendships. Looking forward to the next.

It's not absolutely necessary to read the previous book in this series but I would definitely advise it. Once again the mysterious and seriously dead Charlie has another mission for the cons from Pros and Cons of Vengeance. This time computer hacker extraordinaire Wesley is up. The guys discover a tropical resort on a private island are importing foreign workers into slavery, taking their passports and charging them exorbitant fees simply to survive. Wesley, who has taken a romantic interest in ex-hooker Danny whether he admits it or not, learns of their plight and, at the urging of Danny, agrees to take on the job. As in Vengeance, the con the guys (and Josie) pull off is complex, fun, dangerous, and romantic. The only regret that we've been given book 2 is that takes us one book closer to the end of a great series.

I really enjoyed this series entry by A.E. Wasp quite a bit. After having read several books in a row that had some fairly serious subject matter, I was ready for something that was a bit lighter. This entry definitely delivered - great characters and an interesting con that our group undertakes involving a topical subject matter. I enjoyed the fact that Wasp was able to deliver a fun read despite the serious subject. My only quibble was the ending seemed a bit anticlimactic as the ending seemed a bit rambling. Still a fun and recommended read. I'm looking forward to the next one.

I love, love, love this series. In my opinion, this book is better even than the first one and that one was really good. The characters have a lot of depth and there was a lot of laugh-out-loud humor, scary parts, sexy parts, etc. In other words, this book had it all. I loved all the characters, but I think Leo is my favorite. Maybe because I'm older I can relate better to him. He just seems to be more "with it" and more able to keep the group together and focused. (I loved the scenes with him in tiny sparkly shorts.) I'm anxiously awaiting the next in the series and hope the author doesn't take too long, hint, hint.

I really, really liked the first book so I was hoping to like this one as much or even a bit more. It did not happen that way...

Even though it had many hilarious moments, and many many sweet bits, it was full of eye rollers for me. I wasn't convinced by Wesley and Danny's love story nor by the mission. While the love story developed almost instantly, the 2nd mission seemed to drag a lot. They didn't really do anything and the whole plot was ambiguous and shady. Plus, it felt more like Carson's responsibility than Wesley's. Most of the book happens in less than a week and some things didn't make any sense to me.

I was almost hopeless, but despite all of this, beside Danny and Wesley, I liked all the other main characters' interventions, their personality displays were very honest and true to the storyline. They are bunch of interesting, smart, sexy men so... I approve!

I didn't like Davis' participation, but I'm pretty sure he will appear again. My gut tells me he will be Ridge' s better half... so, we'll probably see that ship sail any time soon.

Finally, the last chapter aka Leo and Al's conversation was my favorite part, which redimmed the story for me and made me look forward to the next books.

This is the 2nd of 5 cases the boys have to work on from Charlie. (If you haven't read Pros and Cons of Vengeance, you need to!!!!) This time they have to go undercover with Wes in the lead & Danny as his fake boyfriend! They play a rich couple on vacation on a resort on a tropical island!!! The other guys go in as workers on the island. It's hot, funny, emotional, & suspenseful!!!!

If I could I'd give this 4.5 stars - the minus is because this wasn't copy-edited well. Many readers can ignore mistakes but I can't. It's distracting. And that's a shame, because this was a good story. It was messy and a little confusing as I'd expect a new team to be, the bad guy's obvious but they need proof, the weather was well done (I live in Florida), and the love story is very sweet, and occasionally funny. I like all the questions building up and will definitely be waiting for the next in this series.

Another great addition to the series of conmen trying to finish tasks in order to erase what Charlie Bingham was holding on them.

This new adversary has the men going incognito to a luxury island to investigate mistreatment of foreign employees brought in under false intenses. Danny and Wesley act as a couple and the others are undercover in various forms of employment. There is laughter, intrigue, angst and these groups of misfits become even closer as they work together.

    On to boo 3.

The only shame is that only the first is KU.

An enjoyable second instalment of the series. I would advise reading book one first just so you can get a handle on the main characters, of which there are a few.
This group of con artists, good bad guys really (although the cop, Leo seems to be on the straight and narrow) are again going after the truly bad, bad guys and doing a very fine job of it too.
A good storyline with engaging characters, some action, humour, romance and sexy bits thrown in, I found this to be quite a gentle read really. Although deceased Charlie (who is still impacting their lives) was the one to bring them all together to sort out the criminals he couldn't, my favourite part of these two books isn't so much the criminal aspect of them, but the relationships and interactions between the players. I like the way the trust is building and how they are starting to become a family themselves, with all the arguments, upsets, comfort and love that goes with it.
Danny and Wes were the focus this time and I found them to be believable both separately and as a couple (fake or otherwise) and thought they worked well together, both professionally and on a more personal level. The person I am still most interested in though is Carson and am really looking forward to his story. I also have a theory as to whom Al is, the mysterious person Leo talks to on the phone and I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe Ridge has found his other half too, but will just have to wait and see I guess.
Looking forward to the next one.
