    This is the first time I have read anything by this author. I look forward to reading more of her books. The characters and storyline flow smoothly.

    Haley has been in the foster care system since she was fourteen. She aged out of this system and has been running every since. Derek owns a ranch thats employs only ex-military. All of them suffer from PTSD in various stages. Haley works for Derek in the office of his ranch and she enjoys it very much. These men come to the rescue. This is an awesome book and a few spots of drama. If you want to know what happens to the ranch, Haley, Derek and his men give this book a try.

    Haley thought she was finally safe, working a job she loved  on a horse ranch with plenty of rescue animals.  But then her past shows up to terrorize her and put her friends in danger.

    Derek's ranch for misfit animals and retired military men who all experience some form of PTSD is his dream come true. He loves being able to offer both men and animals a second chance. He's also a bit taken with his new receptionist, but when danger comes knocking Derek and his ranch hands will put their military expertise to good work to protect Haley.

Derek runs a ranch that hires only ex-military with PTSD and other problems stemming from their service. Haley goes to work there as a general helper and quickly falls in love with the place. As Derek and Haley grow closer, Haley’s past shows up. It’s a short story but the characters are well drawn and the setting is interesting for future stories. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.

    It's an OK story, but I have a problem with the term "boyfriend" being used to describe a 33-year-old foster father who has sex with his 14-year-old foster daughter. He's a pedophile, a child-abuser, a rapist, but not a boyfriend. I think her new boyfriend could have said a little more to that effect. The whole story is way too short to deal with a subject that is much more emotionally complex than this fluffy little story makes it.

    This is a really great short story. Derek is a former Navy SEAL, who was injured during active duty. His best friend Clay, was the only other team member to survive. Derek owns a horse farm and hires former veterans who need help to adjust to society. Haley is a wonderful person who has been on the run for 2 years from her ex, a pedophile.
    Dereck has feelings for Haely and knows she is in trouble. When trouble finds her at the ranch, not only does Dereck protect her but also all the other veterans on the farm help to protect her. Haley feels like part of their military family and is in love wit Dereck. I read this story in one sitting. I received a copy of this book for a honest review.

The main characters are interesting, intriguing, and compassionate. Derek is perfectly crafted, the ideal man a girl would want, honest, humble, caring yet strong and sexy. There are good buildups in the books and climaxes that keep you hooked. The most interesting character is Clay, he struggles with his past but there is much beneath the surface and a lot to learn about him. Definitely recommend for a quick and thrilling read.

    I liked the characters in the book, Derek the owner of Tranquility Bay Ranch, a wounded warrior himself hired former military members to work on his ranch giving them a safe place to transition to civilian life. He takes in animals from shelters that are to full to save them from being put down. Giving them the time they need to find a home. Hailey was hired as his secretary to help with all the paperwork. She has been on the run for two years from her ex boyfriend Damien who wants her dead because she left him. Derek and his friends want to keep her safe from harm so she doesn't have to run anymore. I like that the author let's you see the vulnerable side of these warriors and the mental scars that was leaves behind. How having a team and a safe place to face these scars can help them heal while helping animals at the same time.

This book is so in tune with what can and is happening to abused women. the story revolves around Haley who was abused from an early age by a older single man. Haley has been on the run from him for 2 years, constantly moving. He catches up with her ,but has met his match when 5 ex seals protect her.
