Raven's Course (Peacekeepers of Sol Book 3) Kindle Edition
Old oaths have shattered
But old ties still promise redemption
Amid the ruins of a fallen empire, humanity fights to secure the fates of once-enslaved worlds. Captain Henry Wong and Ambassador Sylvia Todorovich of the United Planets Alliance have mustered force and diplomacy alike to drive their former allies in the Kozun Hierarchy back from their invasion.
With their superiors unwilling to fight a war this far from home, Todorovich leans on the Drifters, old allies of both the UPA and the Kozun, to broker a peace summit that could bring peace to a dozen worlds—if she can trust anyone.
Fearing treachery, Captain Henry Wong and the battlecruiser Raven accompany Todorovich to the summit. Even among former friends, he can trust no one—not the Drifters and, most especially, not the old friend in command of the Kozun delegation!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2021This book appears to be a closing to the first part of the story arc in the Peacekeepers of Sol universe. Glynn Stewart is currently one of my favourite Military Sci-Fi authors and has been since the Castle Federation series. He writes really well, his characters are well developed and there are often plot twists.
In this book, we are shown again that Humanity does have the edge in technology (in some areas) but not so much that we handily win. Victory requires proper application of intelligence and strategy, which seems to be concentrated in Henry Wong. He again saves the day and his crew through his brilliance and does something in this book he hadn't expected to ever have to do again (I saw that coming, but the author didn't make it obvious). If there's anything to fault the author so far, it's that we have too few characters with this much potential. Though the concluding scenes seem to indicate his senior officers are very good and will shine once they're not eclipsed by him. We'll see.
Unlike in the Castle Federation universe, in this one the author has left quite few mysteries for us, allowing for future expansion of the series. We've so far focused on the sectors closest to our own neck of the woods and the Drifters, but the first book made it very clear that there is a lot more, with far more unknowns. There are clear problems to be investigated in the next story arc, like who's really out against humanity, but even after that is solved there'll be more.
I can't wait for the next story arc. And the one after that.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2020I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I also bought this book because I love this author.
I'm going to have to start rating Glynn's books lower because it's starting to look suspicious that he always gets 4 and 5 stars from me...
But what do you do when every book the guy writes is just that good?!
I gave this entry in the Peacekeepers of Sol trilogy a 4 because although I loved it, I didn't say, "Holy ship that was an awesome book! I need more RIGHT NOW." when I finished it. It was more of, "I wish I wouldn't have read that so fast, because I'm sad it's over, but I can wait patiently for the next one."
I love the main character and the main side character (haha). I love that the relationships are non standard and that I can root for Henry.
You won't regret starting this series. Head over to book one and download it.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2022I loved this book as well as the many other books by Glenn Stewart that I have read. He is an excellent sci-fi writer. The characters are well developed but not overly developed. The battles are engaging. The tech is fabulous. I
Like that it reads as a stand alone book. I also like that there is a series. If you like your space opera to take place far from Earth and have action and battles, then you would love this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2024Another great book in this series. I love this author and am SO glad I found his books. Great characters, lots of action result in a great book.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2023Where do I even start? We get chapters from both Henry and Silvia's POV, lots of clever fighting and emotions and political changes and just plain intelligent people doing awesome things, high stakes, suspense, cat and mouse hunts, good people rewarded for their efforts, more about Henry's history and his roots, fun new technologies and the headaches that come with them, and that's just the stuff I can list off the top of my head without spoilers.
I also love Henry's CAG so was quite pleased with the role she had to play here. I hope to see even more of her in later books.
This book hit all the right notes for me. It's my favorite in the series so far.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2021This was a great book to add to the collection. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Keep up the good work. It keeps me going. I enjoy reading your style of books. It seems to me that each new book gets a little better than the last book. Which is always a good thing. Needless to say I am off to read book for. Thank you.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2025Again an epic space battle! The hero and heroine get the best prize of life and love. Going directly to the next book in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2020This read is something else. You thought you understood what was going on at the end of the previous book... wrong. This continuation of the story line shows that one shouldn't take anything for granted.
I do not want to give anything away about Raven's Course as I would prefer the reader to experience everything fresh to get the full impact and appreciate the subtle twists in the story line. I have read the book several times, and gain more appreciation of the nuances of each character every time I've read the story.
I just hope there is at least a forth book in the story line.... Think of the word payback... I know I am looking forward with great anticipation to the next installment..

5.0 out of 5 stars Not an Unkindness of Ravens
I really liked this series. A bisexual Captain with hints of Alien miscegenation, an ornery alcoholic female CAG, and an ice-cold Ambassador who melts for the Captain.
Military Sci-Fi plus mystery / conspiracy / thriller components and political shenanigans. A tour-de-force.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable Good!
Just finished reading book 3 and about to start the fourth. I could not put this down! Things I had to do today just had to wait while I held my breath, talked out loud to the characters and read the circumstances they found themself in. Full of twists and turns and the occasional shock I didn't see coming!
I didn't think I was building a relationship with the characters but clearly that was wrong.
A fantastic read and a thrilling series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great plot fascinating right from the start
The third book follows neatly after the two previous ones. Start with the first and you will not stop in between! No spoiling the plot here, just enjoy yourself!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great changes, but the still same heart
Another great story “in the books.” Okay, bad pun— still a good book.
Nothing has changed in the writing style, the characters, the plotting and manoeuvring. Inside the covers, however, there are a lot of changes afoot.
This peace conference, as integral to the book as it is, doesn’t compare with other changes happening aboard Raven, with her captain, with the La-Tar system, and even with other species. Stewart proves he can move his characters along, not content to establish them, only to let them stagnate while he moves starships around them. It’s far more interesting to find out how people cope when there are different things and people around them.
This time, Sylvia Todorovich gets POV chapters of her own, and they are just as interesting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining but repetitive at times
I found the series so far entertaining enough to continue reading. The aliens were quite interesting and the technology believable up to a point, the characters engaging.
The things I found distracting or even irritating at times were the repetitions. I only need to be told of any particular fact once. Whether it be about the technology itself, the civilisations of the aliens, of how skipping through space feels, after the twentieth or thirtieth repetition I found my eyes glazing over.
There were a few minor grammatical issues mostly in singular/plural agreement issues, for example "There's many things" should be "There're many things". Little bumps like that break my flow and disrupt the inner film that I watch as I read.
I'm following the author though and look forward to reading more.
