Reggie and Shohei are two loveable MCs who will win you over from the first page.

Ready For You is a fantastic romance that features a coming out story. Shohei's realization he's not straight -- he's unsure if he is bisexual or pansexual -- and his growing attraction to his friend Reggie are beautifully rendered. As is Reggie's self-doubt over whether he is boyfriend material or if Shohei could ever fall for him.

Crystal Lacy has crafted a smart, funny, endearing and hot AF tale of two men learning that who they is valid and that sometimes you just need to listen to your heart.

Reggie and Shohei are both wonderful characters, and this is a very sweet romance. It’s hard not to feel for Reggie throughout the story because he has been constantly dismissed or used too many times in his past relationships, and finally, when he comes across what could be a real connection, he’s hit with the fact that it will never happen. Startled to discover that he isn’t quite as straight as he thought, Shohei finds himself unable to not act on his attraction to Reggie, and the two begin some fun experimenting. Needless to say, all the feelings and doubts soon creep in as the guys find themselves wanting more but struggle to voice this to each other.

Ready for You is a little angsty, mostly sweet, friends-to-lovers story in the Oahu Lovers series, with a beautiful HEA. Whilst we do get to see some old favourites pop back in again, it can be read as a standalone and you’ll definitely get the full Reggie and Shohei experience!

I loved every word, every page of this book. It usually takes me about a month to finish a book but I knocked the majority of this book out in a single day! Reggie and Shohei are two adorable cinnamon rolls who I just want to protect at all costs, but also the sex is really hot🔥. The perfect mix of sweet and spicy and a perfect book to spend a Saturday afternoon with! I can't recommend it loudly enough!

This book didn't do it for me even though the plot interested me and the author delivers solid writing. I didn't feel a connection with the characters, something that is essentiel for me when reading a book.

I'm still giving it the three stars based on the plot and the writing because it is executed well.

Geeky and slow burn are two of my fave words when looking for books to read!! I received an ARC of this one. I'm very new to this author. This is only the second book of hers that I've read. The first book was the first in this series. That one seemed to move too slow for me. This one was perfect. I'm a huge fan of the geeky, glasses wearing MC who isn't too sure of what he wants. And the burn in this was written with perfection. The sex was hot but the storyline was what made it that way. I loved reading about the friendship unfolding between Reggie and Shohei. If I could pick a great example of a friends to lovers story, this would be it!!!

This book has all the angst you would expect from two people exploring a new relationship with a few reservations and hang ups from previous experiences, add in the fact that one of them is newly discovering they aren’t as straight as they originally thought and it’s a true inferno. High heat🔥🔥🔥 and enough sweetness to make you want to cringe. I loved how natural and authentic all the emotions that the MCs felt came across. 5/5 would highly recommend!

This is my first Crystal Lacy story but it won't be my last. I like her writing style as it's clean, easy to read, and just a good story. If you're looking for a low drama, mm, HEA romance, this is one to try.

While this is the third book in the series, I had no issues following along having not read the first two. I loved how sweet Shohei and Reggie's characters were. Their open minds and hearts and lack of high angst and drama was a nice change of pace for me. I was also super happy to read their epilogue.

I received an ARC of this book and am leaving an honest review.

I adore the author and her writing. I'm so pleased to have someone so talented writing romance with Asian men and bi/pan men, both of which are underrepresented in the MM community. The characters are lovely, pacing is good, sex is hot. What more could you ask for?

5.0 out of 5 stars When interest sparks
Reviewed in Canada on February 19, 2020
This was a great read! The exploration felt organic and necessary without being cheap, while it allowed a relationship to grow (with only a little angst). It was a sweet story with a very cute pairing.

Shohei is so well written in how everything happens with him. At the beginning of the story the idea of him not being interested in Reggie doesn't seem possible. There is flirting and so much enjoyment in their time to together that the idea of dating just feels natural. That natural feeling and noticing of another man is exactly what get Shohei wondering about his own sexuality. Such curiosity is unexpected for him, but he gives it full contemplation. He also tries to mitigate the risk of such curiosity turning out to only be that and ruining the good friendship he has with Reggie, which opens up another can of worms altogether.

Reggie is very clearly attracted to Shohei but also very much enjoys his company and friendship. The idea of being Shohei's safe experiment appeals to him, even as it leaves him depressed about the ending. Reggie is so confident that he cannot be anyone's ideal, that he could never be good boyfriend material, that he doesn't even allow himself to imagine it. But he connects with Shohei on so many levels that he may just have to risk what he has always believed is true to see if he could have something more.

The issue between these two comes from the very spark that starts them together. As an 'experiment' there is implication that it will come to an end. This end does not mean a relationship. Being willing to ask each other for more is scary, both with the fear of rejection and the worry of losing a good friend. With the support of those that love them these two have the chance for more. It was a sweet story with plenty of heated moments that made for a great read from start to finish!
