4.3 out of 5 stars 333 ratings

I had a life that I loved once.

Then she took off. She left me and I had to find the strength to move on.

I found my place with the SBMC. They became the family that I lost.

Until she surprises me yet again. She shows back up and she isn't alone.

This time she's brought a kid with her. She claims he's mine.

I take her at her word but when I learn that she's in trouble, I know I need to keep her safe.

The problem is, I'm falling for her again.

My time on this earth is limited and I know it but I will die trying to keep them safe.

Now I'm torn. Continue on the path that I started when she left?

Or fight to keep my family together?

Reaper and Molly were a complicated couple. Molly reconnects with Reaper after ten years. Reaper finds out that he has a ten year son {Drake). Molly feels that this is her second chance with Reaper, but their son is dying from cancer. The storyline is well written, but is so sad with Reaper dying.

First, if you are an avid Erin Trejo reader, this book is Crow level heartbreaking if not worse. That being said, I feel this is in the top 3 books Erin has written. Words don’t describe the emotions you will feel reading Reaper. It literally cut me to the core and broke my heart into more pieces that Crow did. The most important thing you need to know is this book doesn’t have a happy ever after in the normal sense. This happy ever after is part of the heartache you feel. Think smile between the tears kind of feeling. But isn’t that real life? Not every story has a happy ever after and I love that Erin isn’t afraid to write about that. It’s why her books are more believable than others. My parting advice for you is to make sure you have enough Kleenex and what you think is enough, probably won’t be.

This book took a different approach , than what I thought would happen. Definitely not a happy ending. Reaper finally found his list love 💘 and gained a son ,only to lose him to cancer and his life to spiral out of control. Not sure if this is how I would of ended it.

Oh that was hard, poor wee Drake.
A tragic story that will have you feeling the raw emotion.

    It’s still a must read.

I'm a fan of Erin Trejo. I love her style and most of her work but this book annoyed me. I adored Reaper. And I understood his actions. I wish things went differently for him, mainly who he fell in love with. I hated, absolutely hated Molly. She irritated me at every level. She was weak, stupidly stubborn, and not at all a good match for him. He deserved better.
That in and of itself is the best reason to read the book because Ms. Trejo created characters so realistic that she could get such a strong reaction.
I also loved the references to Crow, now that book broke my heart.

Erin Why? Why Erin why? You are killing me. I thought Crow brought me to my knees in sorrow but Reaper & Molly’s story is so heart breaking. Why couldn’t you find a different way? It was bad to loose little Drake but Reaper too! I don’t think I want to deal with the last two in this series. I’m at such a loss. I love the toughness of the MC and the women the love but I thought resilience determination and pure love would prevail. I hate to see members and their loved ones parish unnecessarily. I’m torn.

I love Erin Trejo as an author but this was a very different book than I was expecting. I’m not going to write a detailed review about this book but just say to beware and brace yourself for a great but difficult read.

Only Erin can get to me the way she does with her words! This one got me right in the feels especially reading about Drake, that particular part of the story hit me hard as I lived through it 3 years ago. Now I need to know what happens with fin and if Molly meets Lyric!

I will not buy another bookmof this author. This one tends to write stories with a suicide or suicide by someone elses hand at the end, which I hate.
I know life is cruel, but I read to escape, not to be confronted with hopelesness.
