Redux (The Black Flagged Series) Paperback – December 10, 2012
At the CIA, Karl Berg makes a disturbing discovery. Russian Federation intelligence services are quietly scouring Europe to find Anatoly Reznikov, a rogue Russian scientist at the top of every nation's WMD watch list. Obsessed with reviving a bio-weapons program long banned by the Russian government, Reznikov has found partners willing to fund the project--with unimaginable consequences. Berg goes "off the books," sending one of Sanderson's Black Flag teams to track down Reznikov. Led by Daniel Petrovich, the team races to stay one step ahead of a twisted conspiracy aimed at crippling the West. In the end, nothing is what it seems in this gritty world of covert operatives and back room Washington agendas. A man with a buried past
Daniel Petrovich, the most lethal operative created by the Department of Defense’s Black Flag Program, protects a secret buried in the deepest vaults of the Pentagon.
Blackmailed into executing one final mission by his former commanding officer, General Terence Sanderson, Daniel’s carefully constructed 'life' rapidly disintegrates into a relentless federal manhunt–and a '24-style' race against the clock to suppress the shocking truth about his past.
To survive, he’ll release the darkest side of his concealed identity. A dark side with few boundaries–and even fewer loyalties.

A disbanded Black Ops project rises from the ashes
Former Delta Force commander, General Terrence Sanderson, waits in the shadows for the right moment to demonstrate the grim necessity of his resurrected Black Flag program. His opportunity may arrive sooner than expected.
A rogue Russian scientist, obsessed with reviving a bio-weapons program long banned by the Russian government, has found partners willing to fund a devastating bioweapons project.
Sanderson's newly formed team turns out to be the West's only real hope to stop a plot with unimaginable consequences.
Steven has 'been there and done that,' lending a rare authenticity to his covert operations novels.

About the Author
From enforcing United Nations sanctions against Iraq as a maritime boarding officer in the Arabian Gulf, to directing aircraft bombing runs and naval gunfire strikes as a Forward Air Controller (FAC) assigned to a specialized Marine Corps unit, Steven's "in-house" experience with a wide range of regular and elite military units brings a unique authenticity to his thrillers.
He lives with his family in central Indiana, where he still wakes up at "zero dark thirty" to write for most of the day. When "off duty," he spends as much time as possible outdoors or travelling with his family--and dog.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2016Another great Konkoly novel in the Black Flagged series.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2016I enjoyed the Black Flagged series from beginning to end.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2013Steven Konkoly unleashes another full auto fusilade of action, danger, and black ops takedowns. The story of this book sets up the basis for the next books in the series, so as any good D.I says, "PAY ATTENTION! YOU WILL SEE THIS MATERIAL AGAIN!" All the characters, situations, plots, and action impact the whole series. While each book is a seperate story, they are all interlinked. So buy the bundle!!!! Why you ask? Because just like popping rounds on steel at the range and hearing that klang of excellent shooting, once you start, you don't want to stop. You want to keep going. These books are full mags of black ops intensity. And what makes a good techno-thriller and the signature of a Steven Konkoly book is the rich prose, the details, and the guns and kit, and what the characters do with it all. If you ever wanted to stack up in front of a tango's hideout all kitted up, armed, and waiting on that shoulder squeeze to start tossing flashbangs and breaching doors and killing bad guys, but you don't like being shot at, or cordite makes you sneeze, then these books are for you. The chapters are excellently written in detail and you feel like you are there, or watching it in 1080 HD blu-ray. The authenticism and level of articulation that goes into each story is amazing and makes everything real, and always intense. I can't say anything bad about the books other than while reading them I become so involved in the story that I don't want to stop reading, even at bedtime, dinner, kids bath, or watching T.V.! If you like miltary techno-thrillers but wished, there was more action and felt conected to the story, then these are your books and Steven is your new favorite author.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2013I loved this book and the entire series. Konkoly's writing is fast-paced, technically astute, and riveting--if you enjoy espionage/thriller/military fiction this is at the top.

It is sometime since I read it and whilst I found it a bit bitty in p[laces, I did enjoy the read and would most probably buy the next book in the series.
