His Reluctant Cowboy Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 351 ratings

Out-and-proud volunteer dance instructor, Reid Alexander, is a California boy accustomed to living in flashy luxury. He is less than thrilled upon inheriting his late grandfather’s South Dakota horse ranch. Yet he must endure three months of cowboy hell before he can even consider selling the property.
As the ranch foreman, Walker Corrigan’s entire life is Pine Ridge. When Reid arrives with cold-hearted plans to sell, Walker endeavors to endear the place to the younger man.
Reid is unprepared for the sudden attachment to Walker, the land, and – unbelievably enough – the horses. Walker’s long-suffering heart takes an unexpected gallop straight toward Reid.
Both men are on-board with exploring their relationship, and Reid discovers ranch ownership is more gratifying than he’d once imagined. But Reid is forced to reconsider his place on the ranch when threats put the property and employees in danger. Menacing events call Reid’s integrity into question, and he considers saving everyone the hassle and throwing in the reins. But how can he leave when his heart now feels at home on Pine Ridge Ranch and in Walker’s arms?
*His Reluctant Cowboy is steamy, age-gap, opposites-attract M/M cowboy romance.*

Escape into addictive, sexy, emotional M/M romance.

A.D. Ellis is an Indiana girl, born and raised. She spends much of her time in central Indiana as an instructional coach/teacher in the inner city of Indianapolis, being a mom to two amazing teens, and wondering how she and her husband of over two decades haven't driven each other insane yet. A lot of her time is also devoted to phone call avoidance and her hatred of cooking.

She loves chocolate, hot tea, sweet wine with friends, pizza, and naps along with reading and writing romance. These loves don’t leave much time for housework, much to the chagrin of her husband. Who would pick cleaning the house over a nap or a good book? She uses any extra time to increase her fluency in sarcasm.

A.D. uses she/they pronouns.

I was very excited for this book to come out because I am slightly obsessed with A.D. Ellis. I definitely was not disappointed in the slightest.
The writing was great. This was an easy read, but by no means lacking in any sort of story line. I ended up reading this one in about a day!

I was not a huge fan of Reid at the beginning of the story, but grew fond of him as the I continued to read through the book. I loved Walker so much. He made me laugh throughout the story. They make one heck of a happily ever after!

Reid unfortunately has figured out you don't get to chose your patents. You do get to chose if you have contact or not with them. Unconditional live is great except when you cone out & both parents don't support you. A gift/ blessing (depends on how you look at it) leads to a whole new life. Walker a cowboy through & through has chosen his passion of the Country life and to protect his heart. Terrific read of struggle, finding your place or purpose. I bought this book because I love cowboys and country boys. I also can't help it as I grew up in a family of English teachers. This book should have been spell checked and then proofread afterward. In several places, it looks like the author typed a sentence and then backtracked and tried to rewrite the sentence and then forgot to delete the incorrect portion so it looks like the sentence is written twice in one. And in other areas, words are missing from the sentence leaving me to guess what is said.

And the Amazon description as well as in the book itself it says the ranch is in South Dakota. However, in at least two places the characters say they're in North Dakota.

Otherwise, it was a good read if you're just passing the time. It wasn't a very involved story and I did not have to concentrate to know where the story was going.

If it weren't for the grammatical errors I would say its a solid 4 stars. But thanks to my relatives' correct grammar is drilled into me. I look for errors without even realizing I'm doing it.

This is a pretty good book, quite enjoyable, even though it completely left out a large portion of the relationship building. Everything seemed rather rushed, the two MC's went from silently pining for each other in one scene, and two weeks later in the next scene to openly being madly in love with each other. I honestly thought I accidentally skipped a couple of pages/chapters and scrolled back to reread and discovered I was wrong and that they truly did go from crush to love between a period and two spaces. The way this was written to skip over so much I'd normally give a 1 or 2 star rating, but it was filled with so much ridiculously cheesy, happy, ooey gooey love, that I gave it 4 stars. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend this book but if someone asked if they should read it I'd tell them to go ahead if they didn't have anything else lined up to read

Well written story of how mega opposites find their way to a wonderful HEA. LA born and raised Reid... Cowboy thru and thru Walker. Reid inherits a horse ranch from a grandfather he never met but b4 he can do anything with it, he must spend 3mos there. Think Walker and the other folks who live and work on the ranch can persuade horse-adverse Reid to keep the ranch? Reid is out n proud, of course. Ah, but he has no idea Walker is gay... Without giving too much away, the situation is further complicated by Reid's dad who is angry that Grandpa Jack left the ranch to Reid, angry that he can't benefit from the sale of such a valuable asset, etc, so angry that he hires thugs to do some horrible things, endangering not only animals but humans. I loved the ending. So will you.

In this case you have a cowboy and a wannabe. Walker is foreman on a horse ranch left to Reid, a major city boy, by his grandpa. Reid just wants to sell and get out at first until he gets to know Walker, Buttercup and Cinnamon.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book to read, I loved the ending, perfect.
Reviewed in Australia on December 28, 2018
The book has a great start with a bit of humour between the characters. Reid is out and proud but he's totally clueless about Walker...(but Walker had me guessing too). Walker had a sad experience which he'd swarm off finding love again. Three months was all they had and Walker had a challenge set for Reid. Jumping in with both feet whether is to dance or to jump on a horse. The romance and drama that happens kept me reading. I loved the ending of this justice was served well. Hot sexy scenes is also included in and written well story.
When Walker 32 yr picks up a hitchhiker on the way to the ranch he doesn't know that he was in for, definitely wont be boring lol. He was the foreman with the owner deceased when his grandson turns up.
From the city, Reid 27 yr was on his way to the ranch to do his time and return the city, his dislike of horses didn't help.

Kept me involved all the way. This book kept Mr interested in all the different aspects and I love the MM books. The love scenes are so tender, more real somehow than MF books.
