I was somewhat disappointed in this installment of Bear and Jack's adventure in Costa Rica. For one, the story telling was done by Bear instead of Jack and after reading many books in this series, I felt confused at times and had to pause to get it straight. It just isn't the same as when Jack is narrating through the story! I also feel that when Jack narrates, he has a quirky sense of humor and is quick-witted in his comments and dialogue...that aspect seemed to be missing in "Ripple Effect".

As for the storyline, the "prize" continued to move and change to different characters making it difficult to determine which one deserved to be killed first. The story moved slower than previous installments and now it looks like there will be a continuation to pin down the final target - he is also suspected of being a back-stabber with his own agenda and using Jack and Bear cater to his whims. Thorne also appears to be a little smarter than the duo and should make the hunt more dangerous and devious. There also seems to be some open-ended situations with some of the "bad" characters leaving readers hanging on their status.

Mr. Ryan, this wasn't one of your best works...however, I like Bear and Jack Noble and will continue to read the next installments as they come out. Also, go back to using Jack for the narration!

First off I would Like to say it that I'm a big fan of Mr. Ryan's Jack Noble series, but I a very light "knock", if you will, on his writing. I find the he uses words like "showed" is places where the words "shown" and "shows" are proper. I admit that it is nothing major, and actually quite rare, but it causes me to to have a slight hitch while reading his usually smooth style. And sometimes it appears that Mr. Ryan rethinks the phrasing of a sentence. Then during rewrite, he doesn't delete all of what he wrote to begin with and leaves in an unwanted word causing another "hitch". I will admit that theses errors are very minor and really don't effect the overall reading experience.

I admit that I am picking nits here, but I just wanted to give LT. a little feedback from an avid fan. Be assured Mr. Ryan, I continue to purchase, with bated breath, the upcoming books in your Jack Noble series!!!

Ok, now that's out of the way, let me go on and say what I like about L.T.'s writing. EVERYTHING!

I just finished the third reread on the Jack Noble series, in order, on my Kindle Fire HD. Every time I read these books, I get totally engrossed in them. It's like I know Jack and Bear, Brandon, Clarissa, Mandy, Sasha, Devious Frank, and wanting to get to know Mia . I am there with them. Sometimes I also would like to shoot Frank, have a verbal joust with Mandy, gaze on Sasha's and Clarissa's beauty, have a beer and steak with Jack and Riley. Did I mention shooting Devious Frank?

I am beginning my first read of Ripple Effect and the dynamic shift in Bears' and Jack's relationship is a touch disconcerting. After the previous 14+ (I have the Jack Noble Early Years bundle) books, Ripple Effect sort of makes my head explode. And as such, it's a bit hard to get into. However, the initial plot is intriguing and I MUST follow it through to see where L.T. takes it. Even in the beginning I was hooked and anxiously await the twists and turns leading to the conclusion.

Mr. Ryan's writing is, for me, entertaining, exciting, enjoyable, and down right GOOD! (How many stars can I give to L.T.'s writing? Only 5 you say?
    Well, that sucks!!!)

Much too formulaic, rather dislike cliffhanger endings. Grew up on lecture spy novels, so this is bland by comparison. Won't be wasting time on more of the Logan books and will view any books by L.T. Ryan with a very jaundiced eye.

A novel that makes it difficult for me to remember that I have household responsibilities that need I to take care of. But that doesn't mean that I can't sneak a few pages/chapters in while I wait for dinner to finish cooking 😘. Keep up the great works L.T Ryan. As long as you continue to write, I'll continue to be one of your biggest fans.

Bear ( Riley Logan) and Jack (Noble) take those dirty jobs for the government that no one else wants to do or can do! This latest mission sounds easy enough. Find a corrupt U.S.Senator named Thomas Goddard in Costa Rica 🇨🇷 and kill him. Goddard is "drawing too much attention to himself" with his involvement in a drug cartel and various other bad acts!

Something "easy" just gets more complex, with more people involved, violence and even kidnapping! Jack and Bear are a great team; they almost read each other's minds. Non-stop action and suspense! One of the great two-man teams in modern thriller books!

If you have read many of these Jack Noble stories by Author L.T. Ryan, you will see this is a story told from Bear's perspective. One advantage is we learn a little more about Bear. They are both equally tough and snarky! When I realized I thought Jack was talking or thinking to himself, it was actually Bear, and vice-versa. Momentary confusion, only. Doesn't matter, though. "Ripple Effect" is, as usual with this author, an interesting, fun, and absorbing read!!

the fact that i have purchased 3 of his books and just ordered the fourth speaks for itself.
good book to help distract, entertain, etc. i contacted two local libraries and neither had L T Ryan. one library that did not surprise me. the other library, it did surprise me and will ask them to consider
getting his stuff on the shelf. i liked it. not everyone will. i don't like "poetry"...........others do. i did recommend his books to a good friend of mine who also enjoys Baldacci, Flynn et al.

Great story told by the other person of the pair of partners who work together on all plots, and know each others move before they do, but great reading, and you can see the other side of a situation and wonder who was right, it is written so well that you feel that you are in the book, so it is all consuming. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend to everyone who likes an exciting read and journey, to who know's where? they don't always know? a real treat

4.0 out of 5 stars Stick with Jack

Many others will go into details on the book itself. It was a great read as usual. But changing the narrator from Jack to Bear was a monumental mistake. Having read most books in the series, you are accustomed to who is talking. And Bear talking just throws you off. It distracts immensely from the story, and makes it harder to read. And the author also forgets sometimes and occasionally writes as though Jack were the narrator. Please revert to the customary style. I would actually rewrite the entire book with Jack as narrator.
