3.8 out of 5 stars 34 ratings

Wedding planner Ashley Davies has left England behind to organize a royal wedding in India. She expected a cultural shock and lots of unforgettable memories – but never in a million years would she have thought she’d fall in love. When the mysterious and irresistible Vivaan turns out to be none other than an Indian prince, it’s time for her to make a decision: risk everything for the sake of what feels like so much more than a holiday fling, or resist their forbidden attraction and save her job as well as her heart?

Prince Vivaan of Yogeshpur doesn’t want to get involved in the organization of his brother’s grand wedding, but then a free-spirited and smart redhead from England captures his interest. Suddenly he finds himself eager to get to know a woman who would never receive his mother’s royal seal of approval. Should he give in to his feelings or choose duty?

Each book in this sweet romance series with international settings can be read as a stand-alone with a 'happily ever after'. The novels do not need to be read in order, although some characters and storylines will reappear.

Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

Almost as soon as Devika Fernando could write, she imagined stories and poems. After finishing her education in Germany and returning to her roots in Sri Lanka, she became a writer. Having lived in Germany and in Sri Lanka with her husband has made her experience the best (and the worst) of two totally different worlds – something that influences her writing.

Her trademark is writing deeply emotional, closed-door romances, often with international settings and/or multicultural couples. She draws inspiration from everyone and everything in life. Apart from her contemporary and paranormal romance novels, she has co-written a romantic suspense book series with Mike Wells.

What Devika loves most about being an author is creating new worlds and sending her protagonists on a journey with ups and downs that leaves them changed. When she’s not writing, she’s reading or thinking about writing, eating too much chocolate, taking nature photographs, and playing with her cat and dogs.

Every girls dream is to marry a prince. What a great telling of this happening. Well written and engaging throughout the story.

Devika Fernando is a fabulous writer of genuine love stories located in exotic places. She takes her time, creating amazingly deep story lines, incredible locations, and surprising situations. While the main characters will have challenges to get beyond, the story will always end with a happy ending of true love.
In the Indian Prince’s Scandalous Bride, Ashley has traveled to Jaipur, India to coordinate a beautiful marriage between Indian royals. Soon after her arrival, a handsome fellow accuses her of stealing gems resting in a pond. She insists that she wasn’t stealing the gem, she just wanted to see if it were fake or real.
Fortunately, the handsome fellow believed her. Still, she has no idea who the fellow is.
While the two hit it off fast enough, there turns out to be a great many problems in their way.
One being that Ashley is an English woman. The fellow who has taken a liking to her is an Indian Prince. But that is just the first of many challenges for the two.
    Grand entertainment throughout!

Fernando is the queen of descriptions. She weaves a story with words that literally place you in the midst of action, and characters seem to be right in front of you. Her voice for the male and female protagonists is perfect. I enjoyed the descriptions of the palace and areas in Rajasthan which I visited many years ago. The attraction and tension between the protagonists is perfectly balanced. The queen and the 'betrothed' add the perfect amount of spice and drama. I enjoyed the book thoroughly. If you like royal romances, do not miss this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Exotic, realistic, wonderful.

A prince bound by duty, a free-spirited English woman with a job to do. It’s a match made in heaven.

This book has so many great things going for it. Let’s start with the settings, the sights and sounds, the smells and tastes, and the vivid colours of Indian life. The descriptors were so good I felt like I was talking through street markets with characters, strolling late night through forts, and staying in palatial rooms. So jealous. Also, I just really want to dive into a good curry right now, thanks Devika!

I loved seeing the issue of traditional versus arranged marriages tackled here. I’m very quick to put my hand up and say that my reading is not varied enough but, for myself, it’s a topic I’ve not seen tackled in anything I’ve read, so thank you for that.

Characters were wonderful and gentle with each other, and I adored the little meet-cutes before Ashely discovered Vivaan’s true identity. It allowed them some time, however brief, to get to know each other before reality set it though, when it did, what a beautiful ride!

Ashley is a wedding planer contracted to organize the festivities of an indian royal wedding.

Vivaan is the brother of the Groom. And not the tradionalist in the family.

They meet incognito and spend some lovely hours in
    the city.

When they meet again in the Palace they both fight their attraction to each other.

With hostile family members of him and the press watching them will they be able to give in to love?

Devika Fernando creates personas that are multidimensional. The Description of characters and places are so vivid one can picture it all.

Devika has written the perfect royal romance with this novel. She has a fascinating way with words. Settings, places, attires, and people have been described in such detail that I could project them with utter clarity. I love the uncomplicated love story with the adorable happily ever after.
