Rules for Santa (Davey's Rules Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 949 ratings

Rule #18: Daddy’s boy will always believe in his Santa Daddy.

Homeless, alone, and now jobless, Cameron Evans is lost… until he’s found after a prominent local attorney literally trips over him when the boy is passed out from dehydration.

Scott Hendrickson has two things in life: his job as an assistant district attorney, and his son Davey. Other than that, he lives alone in a house that’s too big, too empty, too… lonely.

It’s not just Cameron’s life that might change for the better when Scott takes him in. Scott can provide material things and security, but Cameron returns the favor by breathing fresh air into Scott’s stale life.

Two men who need each other… one magical holiday season. Could a little Christmas magic be all that’s needed to bring the biggest gift of all? Maybe Cameron doesn’t need a Sugar Daddy… because he already has a Santa Daddy.

This is the third book in a series about not-so-perfect Daddies, adorable “boys,” and one sassy brat with an insane list of rules. Get ready for all the squishy holiday feels you’d want from a Susan Hawke book.

I’m a happily married mom whose kids are grown! I've always written stories, but only found the courage to publish in my 40s. This midlife career change has been amazing and proves it's never too late to follow your dreams. I plan to keep writing for as long as my readers want my books. I love sharing the stories of the different people who live in my imagination. My books are filled with humor, a few tears, and the underlying message to never give up and keep hoping, even in the darkest of times, because life can change on a dime when you least expect it. This theme comes from a lifetime of lessons learned on my own hard journey through the pains of poverty, the loss of more loved ones than I’d care to count, and the struggles of living through chronic illnesses. Life can be hard, but it can also be good! Through it all I’ve found that love, laughter, and family can make all the difference, and that’s what I try to bring to every tale I tell.

Lots of super sweet moments. Scott's first sighting of Cameron puts him instantly into protective mode. Cameron's had it tough but he manages to fall into the right lap. Poor Davey watches his father choose his own 'boy' and is not impressed by having to listen to them be in love. The horror of knowing anything about his dad's romantic life makes him shudder and gave me a few laughs I do like the steps Davey takes to make sure his father and Cameron come together and make it the best Christmas for all of them.

I love the rescue trope, which is this book to a tee. Scott is super gentle with Cameron as Cameron finds his way. Reading through some of the reviews, I understand that is not something for everyone. I am looking for a sweet HEA with low angst and it does not have to be connected to reality. This book was that. I liked Davey's father, Scott, when he was introduced in the first book and am glad he found his HEA. I do look forward to reading about Davey finding his HEA because I want him as happy his dad and friends are.

Assistant District Attorney Scott rescues homeless, adorable Cameron during the Christmas season and receives the best gift of all. I have mixed feelings about this holiday tale. To be honest, I did not warm to the Scott character (Davey’s Dad) from Book 1. He came across as a bit superficial and a bit of a lightweight. In this installment, he seems a bit creepy, and odd. I felt that Scott coerced or manipulated Cameron into accepting gifts, especially in the very beginning. Then I can’t imagine anyone accepting such extravagances after meeting a stranger the day before and not wondering about expectations of some type of payback; or sexual favors. Also, Davey in this storyline, and Cameron, both came across little too immature and a bit silly. This was supposed to be a sweet, cutesy holiday tale but it felt a bit off. Although, it did even out a bit towards the end. Rating: 2.75⭐️⭐️

Cameron is really a total sweetheart. How could anyone ever want to hurt that precious boy? Scott is a good guy, which makes him perfect for Cameron and being a Daddy.

Cameron has not had an easy life even though he grew up in a wealthy family. Scott is five years after his divorce and still a workaholic. He feels an immediate connection with Cameron. A sweet Daddy read.

Oh my goodness I just adore Davey's dad Scott. Watching him finally realize it's ok to live again, and go after what he wants and needs is breathtaking. As for Cameron, he deserves all the love in the world. This was wonderfully written.

War einfach was fürs Herz.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not so many rules, but a sweet sweet Daddy and boy

In the third instalment of Davey’s Rules the story focuses on Scott - Davey’s father and Cameron, the red headed server that waits on them when Davey and Scott are out for lunch.

What starts off as a rescue turns into more, as Scott gets Cameron to trust him after his past life experiences. Cameron’s story made me really feel for him, especially when we see how he feels about himself - I really wanted to cuddle him (or make sure that his Daddy got to cuddle him). I loved both main characters and the progression of their relationship. All the Santa based innuendos were hilarious and Davey was as diva as always (I’m seriously looking forward to his story, and Jeff’s, and whoever else we can get!). An adorable, sugary sweet Christmas story that proves Christmas miracles can happen, and hallmark movies can come true.

I loved this one, has two of my favourite story lines, age gap and daddy/ boy themes. Cameron was just adorable. Daddy Scott was the perfect, caring Daddy for him, despite the 28 yr age gap. Also a slow burn romance.
