Paul Weston grew up in Yorkshire, England, and after a youth absorbed in music and sport, at age 16, joined the Royal Marines Band Service. Over the next 26 years, his duties took him around the globe, and on completion of his military career, he immigrated to Canada where he joined the North American corporate world consulting in Leadership Development and Sales. He also coaches executives, corporations and individuals in Time Freedom techniques.

A multiple Ironman triathlete and international duathlete, his mantra is not to find time to do things but to plan them. His Energy Zone theory adopts the principle that too much of our effort is wasted on pointless distractions, and too many people make terrible excuses rather than getting on with life.

This book offers jewels of wisdom and practical tools for professionals to achieve their goals . It will move you to act in an efficient and effective manner. Dreams without systems to achieve them are futile and only provide you with a sense of self disappointment. I will begin to employ the ABC method in prioritising my tasks and will begin to use the 2 hour timer Paul recommends. Paul's storytelling makes this read a delight.
This is a great gift for anyone you want to help move to high levels of personal and professional achievement.

Paul's stories related to the strategies made this book so relatable and easy to read. It flowed well and pulled you in right away. The strategies he shared were easy to implement and I used some right away for work and family. Love the idea of systems - the WHAT, the WHY, the HOW. Inspiring read to get me back on track through working from home during this pandemic.

What a great read. Paul is able to explain in a simple and effective way, how to get things done! As a new small business owner, these tips abouts the zones, and adveristy will be put to great use for me to organize my work and personal life to get the best out of both, without spinning my wheels and wasting time.
I love the personal stories of struggle and triumph. This book is like sitting in a pub with a good friend, who is sharing the secrets of success with you.
I kinda hope it rains tomorrow, so I can lace up!

5.0 out of 5 stars This isn't a book about running or the weather.... or is it?

An engaging and motivating book about practices and systems to help you get the most out of your time, both at home and at work.
The book breaks down the idea of scheduling time, not making it, into manageable chunks, and provides real world examples that help you get to understand how to apply the process and put things into perspective. The stories Paul talks about and how he applies his own technique to them really help you understand that the principles can be put into play in many different settings and what to expect as an outcome.
It's an easy read, with interesting and amusing stories to highlight examples and brings in real world situations to clarify points.
In a time when we could all do with a little more motivation and drive, this book helps deliver ways we can make the most of the time we've got and ensue it's put to productive use.
I don't plan on donning my trainers and shorts and going for a run in the first rain storm we get as a result of reading this book, but it's certainly made me look at my time and how it's spent in a different light...

If you are like us, and you want to get more out of your life, Running In The Rain, is the book you should read, and keep close to you as a tool to manage your personal, professional and social zones. Paul has written this book in a way that invites you to share in his experiences, and create awareness of opportunities, while providing a realistic, sustainable system to focus on better fulfilling your life.
In every chapter Paul generates thoughts on how we can see the grass roots of improving the quality of our lives, and those around us, in a way that is nourishing and collaborative.
That he mixes this knowledge, through practical examples of applying his system, with humorous anecdotes, makes this book a real page turner.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read; and likely a better re-read!

Running in the Rain - Seriously ... How Hard Can it be? Is a book I feel can be read once, twice and more, and each time the reader will pull something new and of value. The title is bang on - how hard can it be to run in the rain? A run is a run... But not really, because there are always excuses to not get to it and get it done, and sometimes the littlest things can get in the way. The techniques in this book are thoughtful, yet achievable for anyone, to push aside the distractions that create perceived barriers to success. Thanks for the great read!
