Satan Claus is Coming to Town Kindle Edition

4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 251 ratings

Dear Satan Claus…
That’s how the letter Satan received starts. The little girl who wrote it asking for her father to be happy again meant it for someone else, and while that’s obvious, Satan doesn’t care. Santa will never find out, as long as Satan’s nosy assistant, Jasper, doesn’t tell him. Satan isn’t sure why he decides to watch Zoe and her dad, except that he’s bored and lonely. He surprises himself when he moves into the house next to theirs and introduces himself as Sam—because he couldn’t exactly give Riley his real name, could he?
Riley has been divorced for years, and he doesn’t have time for a relationship. He has trust issues and no will to get over them, not when his daughter is the center of his life. Then a new neighbor moves in, and he’s adorably awkward and sexy. Riley tries to keep Sam at arm’s length, but he can’t help but fall in love with him, and he’s pretty sure Sam is falling for him, too.
Then Sam confesses his real name is Satan, and that he’s the king of Hell.

Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters.

She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back.

She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.

Funny and sweet are definitely not words I ever thought I would use about a book with Satan, but there you are. He is definitely not the most suave Satan but that makes him all the more likable and Riley is very relatable as a single, loving father. While lots of fun, you still feel for the two of them and why they struggle . It is definitely a good book for anyone who wants to have a good time with an HEA.

Satan Claus is Coming to Town was a surprisingly sweet and cute holiday story. I loved how Sam aka Satan was portrayed. This was quick little story. Wish it was a bit longer and had a better epilogue.

The main plot of this story is so cute and sweet. The characters are well rounded and I really enjoyed seeing them grow together. A few typos (I remember one place it said “fell from hell” instead of heaven) but nothing too bad, except the side plot about the characters Gladys and Sibyl. Their story is revisited multiple times throughout the story, but there is no conclusion except for a note saying you can read their story by subscribing to the author’s newsletter. Ok, fine, except it has been removed since this book was first published. Now this book does have sequels, so maybe the author incorporated that story into one of those, but I don’t know if I want to try any more of their books in case dropping side plots is a common thing for this author. I may, it really was a fun main plot, it was like Satan being dropped into a hallmark movie, but this soured the ending. Removing or altering that end note for future printings would be helpful for leaving the book on a good note.

M/M, new relationship, explicit. This is a sweet holiday romance with just a touch of angst and an HEA. Satan's growth and introspection adds complexity to the story. Zoe and Gabriel are nice side characters, and Beezlebub the cat has a nice cameo role. An enjoyable read for the season.

Who knew Satan has a soft heart, hates his job, and is bored? I was pleasantly surprised to read a different take on Satan, which, if I think about it, makes sense. There are charming moments, humorous witty exchanges between Satan and his brother Gabriel, and even a bit of angst. I truly enjoyed reading Satan's adventure into the human world, especially the frightening task of grocery shopping !

This was just amazing. I laughed, parts made me sad, and I just couldn't put it down. Satan and Riley made a great couple. I'm so glad that Riley gave Bryce a piece of his mind too. The author did a wonderful job in building up the world's in this book....Hell and the human realm. The characters were unique; their personalities and interactions were amazing, and I loved Satan/Sam interactions with his brother Gabriel the archangel. This was an amazing holiday read.

Well, who would have thought that Satan could fall in love?! I was looking forward to this, but there was a lot of inner monologue, a lot of questioning and with it a lot of repetition, but not enough talking. When they got around to it, it felt short. And it needed heavenly intervention to get them talking again. Not sure if there was a time inconsistency but by that stage I was too over it to go back and check. That was even before they got to some sex. Not sure either why the cat ended up being such a dick. The end felt rushed and the timing for their first time was ill advised. More alone time and sweetness between Sam and Riley would have been great.

As soon as I saw the premise---a child accidentally sending their letter to Satan instead of Santa, and Satan rolling with it---I of course wanted to read this. And it was a cute story! It was a quick read, and I didn't feel super connected to the characters or their relationship, but it was cute nonetheless. A lonely divorced dad, a kind-hearted Satan who just wants to bring happiness to someone, a cute little kid, and a bit of Christmas cheer---what's not to like!

I absolutely love books where Satan is in fact a prison warden , which imo is correct, so when this was recommended on Facebook I jumped at a chance to read it and if didn’t disappoint. Hugely satisfying and a sweat HEA . Highly recommended

4.0 out of 5 stars Very fluffy, low steam, cute couple story

The thing that - obviously - cought my attention, was the title and the premise. Like, if this doesn't sound like a perfect book, what does. I want you to understand, that I was absolutly aware of the fact, that this book was more on the Romantic Comedy kind of side and YET I still wished, that it had done a tiny bit more.
Don't get me wrong, I had a great time with this one. And I'm probably going to read the sequel to it, but, that doesn't change the fact that it set up things that left me wanting more.
That mainly being: Literally everything that has/had to do with the man himself. Satan.

So here's what I thought we would get:
An evil being that comes to earth, falls in love and finds someone that loves him just the way he is. Bonus: Maybe a little bit of evil power couple action, I don't know.

So, did I get that? Well .... kinda? But not really. Because my Satan was missing a bit of Satan, if you know what I mean. The book was still going an intersting route though, so I was willing to overlook my 'Needs more satanic Satan' crafings. Because it builds up the "Why does the plot even happen" storyline quit nicely. As in, Satan is bored - from doing things over an over an over and over and over and over again - and lonely - because he's got no family, no friends and no allies - and depressed. And THAT sounded like an intersting concept that I was ALSO down for. Satan may be Satan, but that doesn't mean he's invincible. He can still hurt and seeing that was nice.
I was also on board with the humour and writnig style so I felt like this book was heading in a very good direction.

The ship was also very cute and wholesome and the single-parent aspect made me smile. Like, it's kinda ironic that Satan manages to be a better partner than a bunch of other people I've read about.
    #SatanRuiningMyStandardsForMen2021 : P
Something that made me - personally - very happy was the Steam level of this thing. Because, all the steam was left for the epiloge making this thing as a whole very s*x-repulsed ace friendly.
It's also VERY refreshing to read about two dudes with ACTUAL chemistry who don't just end up together because their bananas couldn't take it anymore.

Quick summary of what you just learned:
very fluffy, low steam, cute couple & (mentions of a cat).

But wait, what about all the hurt I mentioned? Well, ....
We tackle some of the complicated family drama. Buuuut most of it is left for book 2. I also wasn't sure how I felt about the "know their history from mythology" aspect. Like, if that's how you want to handle it, fine. But then I kind of expect you to stick to the mythology as a whole and not just to parts you found cool.
I'm talking about Lilith and I'm still salty that she doesn't even get mentioned once. :c
I'm also semi happy with how not really explored the hurt part of the book was. It just left me wanting more. (I'm also sad that I didn't get that Evil Power Couple thing I wanted. )

It's not a bad book, and I would read it again, but it's also not the bestest book in the world.
