The Priestess

    Be warned going in. The beginning of the book says, there's no warning, because if you know this author, and picked it up anyway, you'd know that. So... Be warned.

    At times I'm not sure what to think of Beatrix. She can be seriously dark and twisted, and others like a little lost girl, trying to find her way. It can flip on a switch. Not bipolar like, but she has a kind of deviance that can scare you. She's the average street kid that had to raise herself, so she has that. The lost kid, not knowing really. But the other part of it, is the flip side that no one sees until it's too late. The kind that makes you cross the street, and you wouldn't expect to come from a small petite female, with the face of an angel. Quite interesting really.

    Ichabod....... Oh, sweet, sweet Ichabod. Forever wanting to please others. Wanting to fit in. In a way, he's torn in two directions. He wants the good out of everything, but he sees the dark, although he tries to deny it. He's along for the of a lifetime. The ride of his life.

    Laykn is charming, charismatic, good looking, and everything you'd want in a man. But Laykn is a straight up facade. No questions about it. What you see of him is nothing but surface. You see the pretty face, and killer smile. If you look closer, you may see a killer of a different kind.

    This book is dark and depraved, and not for the weak, but it's still wicked, and deviously delicious. This author know how to bring you to the edge of you seat, and jack your senses in a dark and macabre way. One you can't help but love even when you know it my be a little bit wrong. Just a bit though. ;)

    When first read the blurb for this book I thought, this is going to be good. Then when I found out that this only going to be book 1 I knew it was going to be great! If you're looking for a hero/heroine or a "good guy" in this book you'll be looking. And that's what makes it so damn great!!

    Beatrix is as complex as they come. One minute she sweet and nurturing, then she's a sexy temptress, then she's ruthless as hell, and boy can the Princess be ruthless. One things for sure, I wouldn't want to cross her.

    Then there's Lakyn, more charismatic than Ted Bundy and more manipulative than Manson. Do you stick with the Devil you know or take a chance on the one you don't? Lakyn's sexy and intriguing, with a silver tongue that could charm your panties right off. You're drawn to him like a moth to a flame, against your better judgement.

    Still let's not forget Ichabod, the one that's the most innocent, well compared to the other two, but is he really. He has his own demons and his own secrets. I think he may suprise us all. And yet poor Ichabod stuck between an irresistible force and an immovable object. Who's side do you choose when there is no safe choice? Or is Ichabod the one to be reckoned with?

    This story is just getting started and I can't wait to see where the road will lead for this merry band of misfits in the next book. I'm all tingly with anticipation. This is an edge of your seat dark intrigue kinda book. Most definitely 5 stars, and then some.

    This book is really mind blowing. You have this plot that's just out there, and these wonderful characters that are the big bang of the story. This wicked tale will have you gasping at certain parts, and will have you smiling at others, if you're into the crazy.

    Scavengers is the book to read if you're looking for dark and disturbing. Each character has their uniqueness about them, but they will leave you wanting more. You will be hooked from the beginning to the end.

    Yolanda, and her work. I would love to see into her mind when she comes up with these books. She tells you they are out there, and when your read them, you're like dang I wasn't expecting that.

    This is one of those "can't put it down, edge of your seat" kind of books that grab you and won't let go. It's about two guys and a girl who bring out the darkness in each other.

    One guy is an addict. One guy is a sociopath. The girl is the glue and a killer herself. The priestess, the devil, the burden... but together they are as Ichabod says, "a powder keg ready to explode and destroy everything in our path".

    This book is amazingly dark, utterly depraved, and everything you need in a dark horror romance.

    Lots of triggers. If you have any, just skip this.

    If you love the darkness, this is for you.

    When I first saw the name Ichabod (one of Yolanda's teasers) Yolanda already had me hooked. I just don't know what it was about his name but I just knew that I needed to meet him. I was not disappointed.
    I will even say that this is my most favourite book from the Queen of Horror, the ever evolving Yolanda Olson.

    The characters, Ichabod, Beatrice/Trixie, and Lakyn are superb together and apart. Lakyn the self assured cocky bastard-I absolutely loved him. Trixie the perverable princess- love her also and of course Ichabod- the troubled shy kid just wanting to be loved.

    For us the road trip in which they have taken would be to hell but for two of them it is a delight and for one not so much. Of course in true Yolanda style there's blood, gore, some hot sex and some not so hot sex (wink, wink).

    I devoured this book, absolutely loved it and can't wait for book 2.
    My question is not only who will be riding shotgun on the trip home but whom will be driving the van????

    There are three ingredients which made up this madness: bada$$ characters, an addictive storyline, and the pure brilliance of Yolanda Olson.

    Lakyn is a bad bad boy, and I love the feck out of him! I claim him; he is MINE! Trixie is a dark little delight in a pretty package, and Ichy is an absolute sweetheart with a troubled past.

    Each of the characters have their own tale expertly weaved into the whole of this story to create something intense. The character development and world building is astonishing, and the vivid details and character driven plot take it to a whole other level.

    Between these three characters is a dark, twisted and deviously captivating story which held me in its grasp.

    I couldn't stop reading, and I couldn't look away as the story unfolded. I'll freely admit that I was grinning like a mad woman at times.

    The author took me on a ride I wasn't prepared for, and one I could do nothing but hold onto and hope we all made it out unscathed.

    I'm eagerly awaiting the next batch of madness I'm sure Yolanda Olson is going to whip up in a thrilling conclusion! I'm sure she will continue to astound me with her writing.

    This author likes to mess with your emotions that's for sure.
    Three characters so vastly different you wonder what they have in common and why they stick to each other like glue no matter what happens.
    The author makes me feel protective over one character, hate another and quietly watch the third not knowing what to expect then bam! changes how you feel about certain things. It takes a talented author to change my mind about anything once it's set.
    The book has a brilliant pace to it, nothing is rushed but be aware this is a two parter and i cannot wait to see where things go next, something tells me it's going to get crazier and i can't wait.

    So riveting, I just couldn’t put this book down. Beatrix, Ichabod and Lakyn are all unconventional, misfits. Together, they are explosive group, as their own inner demons play an ill-fated game. All three characters are calcutaing each of their moves, which made their interaction so fascinating.

    As a reader, I can't recall a time when an author had me changing my opinion on ALL the characters and multiple times throughout the story. So intrigued to see how this crazy ride plays out!
