About the author

Alice Shaw is a lgbt gay romance & omegaverse writer. Her stories contain angst, heartbreak, and all the steam you can handle. As some readers have pointed out, her books are kinky with a side of sweet. They always have a HEA - even when whips and paddles are involved.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2018This is a wonderful second chance romance book. Addison the pro football player and Kristoff the care giver are given a second chance at love. They go thru many trials and tribulations to have their happily ever after. Their prize in the end is their beautiful baby boy Ainsley. I highly recommend reading this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2020A sweet story of love conquering all. Two people overcome their fears and themselves to get everything they've ever wanted. And a baby makes three.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2019I like books that involve sports and I love mpreg so this was right up my alley. I know that giving someone a second chance is hard but this story shows that it can be worth it.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2018Hmmmm, I really wanted to love this book, but I just couldn't get into it that much. I did like Kristoff, but Addison just irritated me. I thought the overall plot was good, but for some reason Addison seemed like a spoiled child who kept throwing temper tantrums when something didn't go his way. That's what made it hard for me to connect with this book. I'm a big fan of Alice Shaw's, but was disappointed with this one.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2018When Ms. Shaw offered this book as an ARC, I jumped right on it. I've wanted to read one of her books after very briefly meeting her initially on Goodreads. Then as I got to know her in the Mpreg Facebook community I became more determined to get a hold of one of her new Omega stories. And then opportunity knocked. (TMI: I have five reviews to type and write up. Hardest thing about reading all these great books is finding time to complete a a quality review. But I feel compelled to share my experiences with other so they can make more informed reading choices and share my love of reading).
I didn't realize at first that this was a Sports related romance. I'm a huge Baseball can and our city has both a professional Football & Hockey teams with rabid fans. Whenever they make the playoffs I become one of those fans too. The lure of the Super Bowl and Stanley Cup playoffs is so tense, but super exciting. The fans only see one side of the coin. The flip side is so different - the lives of the players.
Seeing the other side - in this case the Football players' side is eye opening. In this case one particular player, a superstar quarterback Addison Matthews. The author let us experience his thoughts and emotions, interactions with his family, friends, his agent, and his love life or lack there of.
There are a few themes present in this book. We put sports players on a pedestal and when they fall off, it's like what happened to Humpty Dumpty. When the fall is the player's own doing there are a few responses "It wasn't my fault". "Why is everyone picking on me?" But in this cause there was a lot guilt: "I never should have done what I did. I'm so sorry I hurt the other player".
Addison Matthews was in more trouble than what happened on the field. He was completely unraveling. His agent was not helping. He found out he really didn't have any friends despite all his years playing. The paparazzi were hounding him pushing Addison closer to the edge. Luckily his parents knew what he needed. Not something they could provide, but they knew who he'd listen to: Lawrence. The one Addison let get away.
He didn't deserve Lawrence's forgiveness, but he certainly wanted it. Lawrence had anger over how their relationship ended still. How could they possibly come to some sort of resolution? They still had feelings for each other, but unresolved pain could mitigate any reconciliation. So many sweet memories. So many fun memories. They were best friends before they became the loves of each other's lives. How could it end so badly? Was there a chance to go back?
NO! But there was a chance to something new, different, built on a stronger foundation. A grown man who still hadn't matured gradually began to do so. It was a slow process, with some setbacks. But a huge motivation for Addison to finally grow up was the little life growing that needed him to be a man, not an out of control spoiled young man used to getting his way and not having serious consequences. His maturation turned him into a main character that I didn't initially like to someone I wanted to be happy.
Addison being happy was a direct result of a more equal mature relationship with Lawrence his Omega. His BFF. His lover. His future partner. This is a story of breaking down in order to be built back up to be a better man. And for you Mpreg fans you are in for some great moments. I will not spoil them for you. But get ready to be surprised, grossed out, burst out laughing, and falling in love with these two newbie Dads to Be and afterwards.
I really enjoyed this story. I am looking forward to reading Alice Shaw's Frisky Pines & Road to Forgiveness series. But be prepared to have some fun with this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2018Lots of situations of reconciliation and trust building built around hot sex. Can you forgive your best friend for breaking your heart ?
- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2018This is a sweet, emotional second chance romance and I thoroughly loved reading it. This book is about: a alpha male football star (Addison) who decided years ago, that his football career was more important to him than his omega (Kristoff). Addison made an error in judgement and retires but is depressed and drinking a lot, his family contacts Kristoff to help him. Kristoff is now a caregiver and seems to have moved on with his life but still has a thing for Addison. Addison and Kristoff spend some time together and they both realize that there is still a spark between them.
What you will find in this wonderful book is: drama, humor, regrets, memories, apologies, emotional conflict, rumors, confrontations, promises, romance, lust, love, passion and erotic scenes.
The story-line and plot is well thought out and written, the pace is steady and not rushed. The characters have needs and desires according to their personality. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a non-shifter M/M romance with a HEA, I doubt that you would be disappointed in this book
