Sentries of Camelot: An Urban Fantasy Adventure (Ruby Morgan Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 40 ratings

No place is safe from the Harvesters out for Ruby's magical blood.

A police officer suspects foul play in the force and asks Ruby for help. She has every reason in the world to say no.

Her studies are piling up, Harvesters are on her tail, and her guardian shadow is still lurking about. And the icing on the cake: her powers are taking on a life of their own.

It's not the time to go rogue, so of course Ruby adds shady detective work to her list of worries, taking the plunge into the terrifying unknown of the sentries of Camelot.

This may be her worst decision ever.

Get hooked on this binge-worthy series if you enjoy a strong heroine, magic, fast-paced action, myths and legends, and found family with a feel-good vibe. For fans of Michelle Madow and Megan Montero.

Written in British English.

Sentries of Camelot is an explosion in telling. What an intriguing story, just promising to deliver more and more exciting stuff for the books to come. And what a pace it sets. I love to open such books, because you get so lost in the fantasy, you dont want to leave, but, then again, when youve read through it you just crave for the next book to be released. Argh!"

LJ Rivers is the pseudonym for a writing-duo of one older chap and one younger dame. Linn and Jørn are both from Norway, living on opposite corners of the country, so they rarely get to meet face to face. That doesn’t stop them from laughing together, crying together and creating as a team.

They started out as a team by creating the wonderful world of Ruby Morgan, an Urban Arthurian YA Fantasy series. Now, they are expanding into more Fantasy worlds, ready to entertain you with lots of spellbinding magic, twisted intrigue, exciting action, and maybe even a little bit of slow-burn romance.

They also write independently and Linn has published several books under her own and other pen names.

I am lucky enough to have recieved an ARC copy of this book and here's my honest opinion:

Ruby is back in this second book of the series, which is as full of action as her previous adventure in book 1.
The story flows nicely on from book 1, Ruby, Charlie, Jen and co have grown a bit since their previous adventures, which helps them through this story-arc.

The Harvesters are still out in force but this time the gang learns more crucial information on them leading to more secrets being revealed and more action happening. This, along with the fabulous world building and characters that are so real and down-to-earth they could easily step off the page, gives the reader a great desire to keep turning the pages long after some RL adulting should have been started!
This series is definitely shaping up to being another favourite of mine that I can go back to again and again! 😁

Things have quietened down a little for Ruby Morgan until an incident sets her on a dangerous path.
I loved this book, and how it seemed to follow on naturally from where the last one left off, even though time had passed between the two. The characters have matured since we first met them, and are starting to come into their own, even as the relationships between them have evolved.
What really makes this book so much fun for me is that we get to learn more about the world Ruby lives in, and get a chance to explore London, and what it means to live in a world where magic is real. There are some really lovely little pieces of information scattered through the book that made me realize that Ruby's world is a lot like our own, but subtly different.

As a mother of three working full time, and with a house and cat, mye time is scarse. Therefore I seldom have time to read a lot, and when I open a book I need more than a week, or two, to finish it. Not with this one though. The end of the holidays and I couldn't put it down! I finished the book in two days, and loved every second of the action, thrilling story. I am already looking forward to the next one.

I have only one "complaint": it is hard to get as attached to the characters as I want to. I have recently finished another series, where the heroine dies and I cried. I am looking forward to getting to know Ruby Morgan more as a person, so I can get the same emotional roller-coaster reading her story as well.

All in all: an absolute for urban-fantasy readers.

There's plenty of action in this one too - the scenes with Ruby and friends against the Harvesters had me gripped until the end! There are light moments among the darkness, friendships are forged and broken, and secrets are revealed. I can't wait for the next one! Highly recommend.

I got to the end and immediately wanted more because there’s so much more world to explore in this series! Since I binged the Sookie series last year, I was reminded a bit of those books. The action didn’t let up for a minute—which I adore. Definitely recommend, and of course I’m own waiting for the next one.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
