Shared Custody: A Friends To Lovers Gay Romance Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 452 ratings

Lenny
I’m a responsible guy, so I’m the logical choice to get custody of my niece and nephew when my sister and her husband die in a car accident. What were they thinking to have me share custody with Patton? He’s impulsive, laidback, and an actor, of all things. We have nothing in common, and I don’t see how this arrangement is going to work. Living with him and raising two children? It’s crazy—so why does it seem to make more and more sense the longer our arrangement lasts? I’m falling for a guy who doesn’t do responsible or committed, and I can’t seem to stop. I’m not usually so reckless with my heart, but Patton makes me open up and let him in.

Patton
Lenny has me all wrong. Okay, I am impulsive and definitely laidback, but I’m also responsible, and I have a killer work ethic. He might not appreciate acting is more than a hobby, but it’s my life—until my best friend and his wife are killed, and they leave me half-custody of two little kids. Suddenly, I’m trading makeup sessions for princess tea parties and find it satisfying, but I still have dreams and goals. Even though I’m falling for Lenny, and I’m content with our newly forming family, I don’t want to let go of those when I have the chance of a lifetime. Lenny considers it unimportant, making me feel like I have to choose between my new life and my old when there doesn’t seem to be a way to compromise.

A terrible tragedy brings together two men who have such contempt for the other it's a wonder they don't each combust from the deathray stares they give one another. If they only needed to settle an estate of their deeply loved departed sister & best friend, they could grit their teeth & just get it done.

Unfortunately tragically two precious youngsters are left behind to be cared for and the two men are now co-guardians. WTF were their parents thinking? They knew how much the two men despised each other. How could these parents imagine in any sane moment that this was a good idea for their children's sake.

Two men couldn't be more the polar opposites of each other than Patton and Lenny. Careers. Lifestyles. Beliefs and values. Rigidity. Plans for their career goals and how to achieve them. Expectations for their futures. The one thing they did have in common was never expecting to be parents. And yet here they sat in a lawyer's office signing papers & assuming custody of two very young siblings who had no idea that their parents were never coming home.

What a hot mess! A disaster in the making. Yet in spite of their differences the two of them had to find a way to care for these children. Though each expected the other to cut and run. Neither anticipated how overwhelming their grief was & how it would impact them, as well as the children. Who do you turn to when the ones you depended on for companionship, friendship, and a sense of family were gone. And they leave you with their most precious treasure: their two helpless children. You Man the F Up! Even if it might just kill you to be stuck with HIM!

I just love family dramas involving "Uncles" having to assume custody of their orphaned niece(s) and/or nephew(s). This book was DRAMA capitalized, which made it very entertaining to read and wonder how these two enemies would / could ever overcome their differences to "share custody" & provide the parental guidance & love these children needed. I highly recommend it!

This was the first book I have read like this. It was a "Life as We Know It" type story and I was excited to experience something different. It did not disappoint.

Lenny is a complicated guy. I saw a lot of bad things said about him in reviews and I did want to smack him a time or two, but I understood him. When a book makes you feel something, then you know how good it is.

Patton was a great guy. He really stepped up to the challenge and dealt with everything that was handed to him.

The two MCs were complete opposites in every way possible. It was funny to watch the dynamic of having to raise two kids together. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that I felt it lacked a climax (no pun intended). We had no back story on Lenny and Patton's interactions other than one or two thoughts from each MC. Nothing specific. Although they interacted every day, most of their thoughts on the other were negative. Next thing I knew they were in love. There was no build up. It was a great book with a lot of heart. You will not be disappointed.

This is another fantastic love story from the incredible writing duo of Peter & JP. These guys are good. This book will not disappoint. This book is full Another beautiful love story from the fantastic writing duo of Peter & JP. These guys keep on churning them out. Lenny & Patton are facing thrown together under difficult circumstances. Lenny has just lost his sister & Patton his best friend leaving them joint custody of two small children. Lenny doesn’t care for Patton at all. You kind of feel sorry for Patton who has to endure the Lenny’s wrath. It is hard to like Lenny through half the book but he comes thru at the end. They end up making the perfect parents as well as partners. This book has lots of heart and lots of incredible sex scenes. Well worth the read.

There is nothing about this story to recommend it. It's a typical, cliched "opposites attract" plot. The characters are not very interesting and the tension between them dissolved fairly quickly, resulting in a pretty boring book. I'm done with these two authors. I have read multiple books by both and have discovered that neither brings anything fresh to the genre of mm romance.

I thought this was a good read with a lot going on. Learning to accept love, even when it comes from an unexpected source. Learning to work together and grieve together and accept when something great arises from life's unexpected difficulties. I also liked that each main character learned that he had to get over himself to find his love. That was really cool. I will read this again.

Lenny Martin and Patton Colfax, two men who can barely stand to be together are given joint custody of Lenny's young niece and nephew after his sister and his brother in law, Erica and Tony die in a tragic accident. Patton was Tony's lifelong best friend. Lenny is a CPA who is very set in his ways and hasn't had the best of luck when it comes to relationships. Patton is an aspiring actor who hops from bed to bed, your proverbial "free spirit." Thrown together by circumstances that neither ever expected to be in creates more than just a little conflict between them, but BOTH want what's best for 3 year old, Jenna and 1 year old Remi. As the four of them try to build a life together the emotional and sexual tension between Lenny and Patton reaches a crescendo that neither men can avoid any longer, but who will make the first move?!? And wow and boy do I mean WOW when Lenny and Patton finally get together!!! What makes SHARED CUSTODY such a great read is that the authors never loose their focus on Lenny and Patton's budding relationship while giving us readers a very realistic view of how two single men cope with raising two small children and eventually make it ALL work.

Cute story apart from the beginning where it was heart breaking but the title kind of gave you the feeling why 2 guys would be getting custody. I always like a bit of angst before becoming lovers. It was hard work but they made it work.
