- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2015Nathan releases another great title. This book has many helpful tips and tricks to help any author with their kindle book business. Although this book is quite obviously geared toward the non-fiction author, fiction authors will find value in it as well. The Action Tips at the end of every chapter were a great addition to his books, and they are worth the cost of the title alone. They are also very short and to the point, which will make them a great quick reference to read over whenever needed.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2015I reviewed the first book in this series "Write Short Kindle Books" and while the writing voice and tone of the books were excellent, some of the material covered in the book felt a bit redundant.
I'm sure Meunier didn't read my review and make any changes because of it, but Indie Author Success Strategies seems to directly address my criticism. The book is divided into 19 different "chapters" or tips, which each one delivering new and, more importantly, helpful information. All while having Meunier's easy to read conversationalist style of writing I've become a fan of.
The book will take about two hours to sit through, but if you're in The business of self-publishing on Amazon Kindle then this is a must have. Meunier distills his experiences and tips into helpful chapters, complete with his hit-or-miss humor that manages to spruce up the book. Even if you're rolling your eyes at his jokes, you may find yourself smiling like I was.
This book would be a must have if one thing didn't stick out and kind of irk me. In this book Meunier relates personal experiences in his writing of other books. This is fine, until you realize that he's plugging his own previous book for the third time in a row, complete with link. He casually mentions other kindle books, one by name, but leaves out a link. I get that this is kind of the whole point of indie publishing and gaining readers, but each time I saw a link to another one of his books, I felt a little jarred. But this is such a small thing compared to how helpful this book can be to potentially thousands of new authors looking to break in the kindle market.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2015Here's another addition to the growing pile of great writing career books that continue to be the foundation of my frequent references. This time Nathan adds on the Indie Author series with specific tips to boost success, again coming from a space where he's seeing these things work and implementing them first hand.
The Tips that immediate jump out to me center around Target Audience and building an author platform early. Identifying my niche audience has been a struggle for me (mostly due to my eclectic habits making that a moving target most times), so Meunier's words of wisdom specifically on researching the niche BEFORE diving in ring true. Building an author platform has been growing in importance to be for a good while, with Indie Author Tips merely stacking on the wealth of knowledge I've run into. This particular Action Tip especially jumped out:
"Be mindful about your author branding across different platform channels. It's always helpful to create one cohesive look and vibe to your online presence, and replicate that across your various channels. Using similar artwork, logos, imagery, color schemes, and even written messaging on your blog, social media feeds, and other platform elements will help make it easier for people to find you online. Bonus points: tie all of this into the look, feel, and content for your book and its cover too."
IASS is another solid additiona to any writer's collection and guys and gals, we're making out like bandits getting them at these prices.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2015Nathan Meunier has been on a roll lately with his Indie Author Success Series. This book takes a very streamlined form of tips and tricks to really equip yourself and make you ready for a career in self-publishing. In addition to tips on how to structure your book release strategies, there is also information on formatting for Kindle ebooks. This book is a great value and highly recommended!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2015I bought this book when it was titled "Indie Author Success Strategies." The title change is a good change, but the information inside is even better.
Nathan Meunier delivers quick-to-the-punch information that will have your imagination going in no time. I wish some of the chapters were just a little bit more detailed, but the information he shares is practical and easy to implement. If you write non-fiction, you should get this entire series. The books can be read in one sitting each and then used for reference easily as the chapters are laid out logically. You'd do yourself well to follow Nathan's advice.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2020MORE THAN 7 PAGES! I have not read this book yet since I just purchased it. I am still read BK 1. I ordered a sample which had like 28 pages on my devise so I ordered the book and skimmed through it. It is NOT a mere 7 page book which list such in at least two places. To sell more copies of this book the author and Amazon needs to correct the error. Sales are likely being lost. I will update when finished reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2015Nathan offers some common sense advice like building your platfform early and writing a good book. However, his points on collaborating and price pulsing were something I had not even thought of!
His writing style is very easy it read. It really is like a friend telling you about the subject, even if you don't have the chance to chime in with questions. I'd love to promote this book--with an affiliate link even! I believe this would be an invaluable asset to any would be author.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2015Nathan Meunier has written another excellent book about self-publishing on Kindle. He writes in an easy style, gives lots of information, and isn't obnoxious about trying to pry more money from his readers. I hope to use his tone as a model for my own book some day. Thanks, Nathan.
