I tried to be the perfect daughter and fiancee, but after the people who are supposed to love me the most betrayed me, those days are done.
I’m ready for a fresh start - and this time a relationship won’t define who I am.
That means:
No men.
No complications.
No turning back.
At least, that was the plan before I met him.

About the author

Stacey is the New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author of the Nashville Secrets series and the Nashville U series.
She’s also the single mom of three amazingly crazy boys and since she’s a transplanted Yankee, considers herself a big city girl living in a small town. Because she can’t live in the cities she loves – Nashville, New York, Chicago – she writes about people who do instead. When she isn’t writing, you can usually find her curled up with a sexy book, or more accurately, scrolling through Tumblr. She also isn’t afraid to admit her favorite addictions: Tumblr GIF’s, social media, Spotify, Dr. Pepper, and of course, dirty books. Hunky heroes with control issues and strong heroines who stand up to them are her weakness. She loves to talk books – not just her own – with anyone, so send her a message!

- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2015The essence behind this sorry is overcoming tragedy and finding true love.
Lyric may be from a wealthy family but she's endured so much. Her mother is more concerned about social standing and the impression others have about her than her own daughter's feelings and heart. Lyric was in a relationship with a man of great social standing, they were even engaged, but things took a turn for the worse after a sudden loss and unexpected discovery. Anyone would think that family would be the first place someone could turn, but her mother took the side of the man who caused Lyric such immense hurt and pain. The only thing Lyric could think to do was leave the situation and start anew. So she packed up her things and moved to Nashville to live with her good friend and start a new job, make new friends, and avoid intimate relationships all together.
"Moving to Nashville wasn’t supposed to be about falling in love and getting to know a man, but that’s what happened."
David is a man of virtue and knows the importance of family. He left Nashville to go to college in North Carolina and upon graduating with a degree in business he found it wasn't really for him, so he started bartending at the bar his girlfriend worked at. But when he got a phone call about the tragedy they took the lives of his parents he died everything and returned to Nashville to care for his sister. There was no way he would make her face any further change than that which had already occurred. After returning he started his own business, Drench, where he was happy and close to home so he could ensure his sister, SarahBeth, would be able to have everything she ever needed or wanted. Though SB did have a way of scatting off any woman that tried to make their way into David's life, he knew
"I can hear her still sobbing in the living room, and I know I need to take care of my girl. It’s way past time for us to have a talk."
As fate would have it from the moment David laid eyes on Lyric he knew he just had to meet and get to know her. Neither was looking for a relationship and with both having so much baggage and such traumatic pasts how would either be able to overcome it all and start anything with each other. But "Real love isn’t based on what someone can do for you; it’s how you feel when you’re with that person." And if they could both learn to let go then they are destined to have an amazing life together filled with love and passion. But can they? Save each other from themselves?
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2015Really loved Lyric’s story. Save Me From Myself was full of heartbreak, self-worth, determination, finding yourself and how to let go without being completely broken.
Lyric is such a strong, but yet insecure woman. She has been through so much in just a short amount of time, but she left her past behind to rebuild who she is.
David is a complete true man. He knows just what needs to be done to get the job done. He doesn’t let love blind him, and is completely the perfect guy. I loved his demeanor. He didn’t go looking for love, but love walked into his life; as goes for Lyric.
If you love easy, fun, rebuilding romance books, you definitely need to find this. I had no clue the ending would come out the way it did, it was really worth it.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2015Amazing HOT HOT HOT start to the series. This novel was so much fun to read. There is a group of characters that we start to learn about during the story that I am so excite and hopeful that I get to know them better over the entire series. This book focuses on Lyric and David. Lyric has just moved to Nashville to start a new job at a magazine, writing reviews of live music events in the area. She is recovering both mentally and physically from a devastating breakup with her fiancé Matt. Matt and most of her family live in Manhattan and she can't take it anymore so she left to live with her college roommate. Matt and her mother however don't think they are finished. While out with het room mate Anna, Lyric literally runs into David. David is a very §§§ HOT §§§ bartender who has a lot of responsibilities. They both have a lot of trust issues they have to deal with too. The adventure of their relationship is SEXY, FUNNY, EMOTIONAL and TOTALLY ENTERTAINING. I can't wait to read the next book in the series to find out what the rest of the group is doing.
BE SURE to GRAB a COPY and join the FUN
- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2015What a sweet story, David and Lyric had such sweet chemistry. The heartbreak that Lyric suffered and the way David dropped everything for his sister, the humor between all the characters was excellent. The story was sort of predictable but I really didn't see that little twist coming. Read this in one afternoon. Would have loved to rate this book higher but the book just ended. I was thinking "That's it?" The story just stopped with no real conclusion, yes it has a HEA if that's what you call it. Maybe there's going to be a 2nd book picking up where this left off but there wasn't a cliffhanger. You're left wondering what happened after....
- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2014I loved this book so much! Stacey brings such life to her characters that you instantly fall in love with them!
David, the darlin' specialist, is my favorite! He is handsome, witty, sincere, so kind, and sexy as hell! After the loss of their parents, David is determined to give up his life in North Carolina to move back to Nashville and give his 16 year old sister, sarabeth, the best life he can.
Lyric is gorgeous, sweet, loyal, and a woman scorned! She flees Manhattan after discovering her fiancé has been unfaithful after the most horrific event in her life consumes her. She goes to Nashville where her best friend, Anna, invites her to move in with her.
Sparks start to fly when David and Lyric meet. A precarious situation arises when Lyric discovers Sarabeth in a predicament. She wants to tell David what she saw, but Sarabeth threatens her with blackmail, until David catches her on his own. When he discovers Lyric knew, everyone's relationships hang in the balance.
This is a fantastic story, with loveable characters who pull on your heart strings, and beg you to cheer them on!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing book by an amazing author
Found out about Stacey Mostellers books via another author Holly Ward,
Lyric is running away from her past she has just found out her fiance was sleeping with someone else and her controlling mother who tells her that it is ok for him to do that {in what world is that ok},
After fleeing to Nashville where no one knows of her past but her friend Anna, she meets David {another book boyfriend} who owns his own bar, he's cute and adorable.
Lyric and David are happy until Lyric stumbles across a secret that if she tells it would ruin everything so once all is revealed Lyric runs back to Manhatten.............................................. what will ahppen with David and Lyric well you just gonna have to read and find out

4.0 out of 5 stars Saving yourself
Lyric escapes from her ex & family to Nashville & finds David. Although older the chemistry is there. A few things left unsaid leads to drama but generally David's the good guy. SaraBeth & Jeremy complicate things too. A good read.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read
I first found out about this author when she collaborated with HMward, one of my favourite authors so I decided to read one of her books. I have enjoyed this story, There are some romantic parts and some funny parts! I'm not keen on how it ended as I wanted to know more but I'm not sure if their story follows on in the story of Jeremy and SB. There are some quite bad spelling errors but I manages to figure out what they meant. Overall I'm really glad I read it and I think David is pretty much perfect. I will be having a look at the other stories written by this same author.

This is a good story.. sometimes the characters are a little immature at times. But still a nice read. .

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok
This book was ok. There were a few things that bothered me. I'm not a fan of books written in first-person. Also, I found it a bit odd that after 40% of the book which had been from only one point of view, we suddenly had one chapter that switched between two characters. This happened again near the end. it seemed really out of place when the entire rest of the book was from a single point of view. Also, I found the heroine horribly immature and annoying, more like a teenager than a woman in her 20s.
It's not a bad book and, yes, David is rather nice. It was free and a mostly enjoyable read.
