Solstice Goat: Patricia Fisher Mystery Adventures Book 2 Kindle Edition
What started as a missing person case goes south fast when a body marked with pagan symbols is found in the woods. It’s her client’s son-in-law, but the daughter is still out there and a chance encounter with another investigator, none other than famed paranormal investigator Tempest Michaels, sets Patricia on a path of paranormal discovery and starts a race against time to save the missing woman.
The pagan symbols point to a hidden cult and the dread suspicion that they plan to sacrifice her client’s daughter at midnight on Orion’s Solstice. And that’s tomorrow night!
While the police chase false clues, Patricia’s super-team follow the breadcrumbs, but they soon discover this case is far bigger than they thought.
As they glimpse the truth, and her friends start to go missing, Patricia realises she has come too far to stop now …
This humorous cozy mystery contains no cussing and no graphic descriptions of violence or sex.

About the author

When Steve Higgs wrote his debut novel, Paranormal Nonsense, he was a captain in the British Army. He would like to pretend that he had one of those careers that must be blacked out and generally denied by the government, and that he has to change his name and move constantly because he is still on the watch list in several countries. In truth, though, he started out as a mechanic - not like Jason Statham in the film by that name, sneaking around as a hitman, but more like one of those sleazy guys who charges a fortune and keeps your car for a week even though the only thing you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.
At school, he was largely disinterested in all subjects except creative writing, for which he won his first prize at the age of ten. However, calling it the first prize he won suggests that there were other prizes, which is not the case. Awards may yet come, but in the meantime, he enjoys writing mystery and thriller novels and claims to have more than a hundred books forming a restless queue in his mind because they are desperate to be written.
Now retired from the military, he lives in southeast England with a duo of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, he doubts he'll ever leave, the beer is just too good.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2025Patricia and her team start in the case of a missing woman who is later connected to other kidnappings and a sacrifice to a demon god . Patricia and her team after many rabbit holes discover a common denominator and thus are able to solve this mystery. Laughs and surprises carry the reader to the end and stir a hunger for more of this character.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2021I have REALLY enjoyed the Patricia cruise series and took up with her adventures ready for more rotfl and fun. However, so far this series isnt as good. I did not like and hardly Lol in this goat book. I dont know if it was the topic but the Mystery & murder seemed more graphic and unappealing. I did enjoy meeting the Blue Moon characters and seeing them work together. Hope there is more of that. But, This book just was not very "cozy".
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2020Patricia is investigating a young woman named Helena, who is missing. She teams up with Tempest Michaels because her case may relate to one of his unsolved cases.
When Helena's husband turns up dead, with ritualistic symbols on his body, Patricia and Tempest realize that a cult is behind this.
They have only a short time to find Helena and the other young women who will be sacrificed to a goat-headed god.
And Inspector Quinn is obstructing them every step of the way.
So Patricia, Tempest and the others must wing it to find the women.
On the lighter side, Patricia and the crew attend a porn king's party in their underwear, where they run into the Lord Mayor, who has been pursuing Patricia for a date.
I love the crossover. Hope to see more!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2024Patricia is caught up in a murderous cult, and must race against time to stop them. She gets away with a lot, and she finds help from the oddest places. But it is all very entertaining, and I love the characters!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best read
I have read the first bundle of Patrica Fisher series and loved them. This one was very different from her cruise ones. Steve Higgs just keeps getting better. He is a genius at keeping your attention on the story line with a bit of comedy thrown in. I look for his books first. Thank you for another entertaining read Steve.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read
Solstice Goat is a fun and action packed read. The crazy situations that Patricia and her cohort get into are continued in this series but include Tempest Michaels and his cohort from the Blue Moon series. If you haven’t read the other series, there are quick explanations given to help the reader understand the relationships, without having to read the other series. I definitely recommend this book.
