There are bodies turning up in the quarry.
The little town of Lawrence is turned upside down.
And when Lenore heads back to her ancestral home, Ramsey is back.
Lenore likes her town, her quirky friends, her tattered raven, and old pit bull. She likes being a little different, and living in the ‘witch’s castle’ doesn’t bother her at all. Until the bodies show up in her backyard.
Now she and Ramsey must solve the mystery before an old murder becomes a modern day tragedy.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2018I loved this story cause I love reading about mysteries and the fact that this one was a paranormal mystery was wonderful. I loved the twist and turns threw the whole book I want to finish this series cause I loved reading it.
I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems and am voluntarily leaving a review.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2018The writing is compelling and the story is fun. I love the Poe and Holmes allusions. I'm intrigued by Ramsey and I look forward to the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2018I love this book, and can’t wait to read more of this series. I was drawn into the story from the very beginning, and loved learning more about Lenore and Ramsey. Ramsey is a little eccentric and has his own special way of looking at things and seeing what others don’t see, kinda like Sherlock Holmes, with Lenore as his Watson. They make a great team, even though they don’t seem like they should because they are so different. Lenore is a goth with piercings and tattoos, while Ramsey is very proper, but opposite do attract, and their differences are what makes them a great team on figuring out who is behind the murders. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves mysteries, and I can’t wait to read more of the series. I am voluntarily reviewing this book after receiving an advanced reader copy.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2018When a book is part of a series, I do like it when a huge chunk of the book is not taken up rehashing the previous books. The first few chapters were slow moving for me. It felt like a lot of telling, telling, and telling some more. Not having read the first book, I didn't quite understand the relationship between Ramsey and the main protagonist. Was Ramsey older? Was he supposed to be a romantic interest? At one point I became extremely confused, because she feels the killer is targeting her even though it's in the past ?? I might have been missing something. It was hard for me to follow. Honestly, i did not end up finishing the book. I got about 30% through it and I just was not invested in the characters. Lovely cover, synopsis pulled me in, but it just fell flat for me. I receieved and ARC of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2018This was a really interesting mysterious book to read. I am a reviewer for a company and so I received a free copy. I was skeptical at first because it was a little slow in the first chapter but it quickly grabbed my attention and locked me in all the way through. Ramsey is a very interesting person in this book he keeps you guessing on his strategy and why he makes the decisions he makes. What powers does he have or not have that is for you to decide. Lenore is a sweet girl that does not like public places all that much or at least crowds. He relationship with Ramsey is an interesting mix, they work well together. All I can say is this is a must read because bodies are dropping and these two have to find out who and why.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2018Some Late Visiter is like a modern day Sherlock Holmes. I was given this book for free to read and review and little did I know how excited I would be when I first realized that Xaviar Ramsey would be the equivalent to my favorite classic sleuth down to the long overcoat. The biggest difference is his Watson is a fiesty young woman, Lenore, with black hair, tattoos, piercings, and a pet raven to boot. This book has a great mystery along with a few references to witchcraft, but don't get me wrong there are no spells and incantations or creepy old hags flying on brooms. There is however good old fashioned sleuthing and plenty of bones to be discovered. I loved this book I hope for many more.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2019I love this series and waiting for the 4th book hopefully to come soon. I became so attached to the characters. It is a slow build so be patient as it is worth it. I read one after the other.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2018I received this a copy of this book for free to review. I really liked the over story. It had elements that reminded me of Sherlock Holmes with some paranormal twits. I however wish I had read the first book in the series. I would have helped understand the characters better. I did love Lenore and Ramsey though. As well as the supporting cast of people in Lenore's town. I do wish the ending to the mystery didn't feel rushed. That is my biggest complaint. Everything else was so well done that was a huge disappointment to me. However I would still recommend this book to a friend along with the first one.

3.0 out of 5 stars great story (5 stars), bad editing (3 stars)
The stories in the Raven Mysteries are compelling and the characters engaging but the books badly need a good edit for grammar, repetition, plot consistencies and factual items. The language and phrasing is also, at times, ideosynchratic, but I will continue to buy these books simply because the stories are exciting and supernaturally unusual, the plots complex enough to keep one guessing, and the characterisation interesting and appealing (love the sinister but lovable raven, especially! More of him, please). The stories merit a thorough edit to make them the very best they can be; the author too, deserves this, as she has come up with a uniquely imaginative idea, and its a shame to spoil the flow of the words and stories with typo errors and unfortunate grammatical inaccuracies. The three stars are purely because of the editing issues, the stories are worthy of 5 stars.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good BUT
Lots of spelling mistakes and book is not complete lots of words blanked out hence only 3 stars very disappointing. Not sure these are the author s fault though
