    This series is the best and boy was it worth the wait. When special agent makayla was a kid and got struck by lightning she list her sight but gained more from her other senses. When a man comes to her and begs to help him find his neice she accepts but along the way they are finding more and more about this kidnapping ring and themselves.

    The book started off exciting but couldn't hold my attention. The idea is nice and there are some good parts in it, but in general I find the writing style too popular, too overly optimistic. Makayla's special gift was too much space for me. I won't say it's a bad book, just that it's not for me

    This might just be my new favorite book in the series, and it reminds me of the things I loved best in previous favorites. I loved that Makayla was such a fierce defender. What I love even more is that her tough outer shell hides a vulnerable heart with the consistency of marshmallow fluff. Dean may not have the same law enforcement clout, but he cares just as fiercely with his own tough-as-nails attitude and gold-plated marshmallow heart. However, as much as I loved Makayla and Dean, the secondary characters ran away with the show. This tightly knit core of friends and family surrounding our leading couple, supporting them in all their endeavors and giving them strength and inspiration whenever it was needed, shone during their moments in the limelight. For me, it’s in those interactions where the author is really able to show off her ability to make these extraordinary characters feel like people I could meet in my everyday life. It was also where the best humor happened, too. I would love to see some of the supporting cast here step up to play the lead in their own stories in the future.

Dean needs help, his neice has disappeared in the middle of the night and there’s no clues to where she is. This is a phenomenal story, the synopsis caught my attention and the story itself fulfilled my expectations. The story is complex, it’s multilayered. The relationship between Makayla and Dean is wonderful and the ending is simply perfect. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Loved the whole concept of this book, nice that the characters were able to laugh at themselves making me laugh also. Not sure where I've been hiding missing out, but no more 😉.
