She retired, but not really! Marilynn bought a bed and breakfast, was an inspector for the Texas Bed and Breakfast Association, and became a Certified Home Marketing Specialist, working as a home stager and helping individuals update their homes.

Marilynn’s travel and experiences provide a rich backdrops for her first book in the Breton Hill series, Staged For Success, which is set in the fictional small Texas town called Breton Hill.

Marilynn’s two cats, Spoiled Sam and Little Girl, provide comfort during those dreaded writer’s block periods.

While reading this book, it’s easy to become part of it as if you’re one of Carrie’s friends. All people can relate to this book since we all have certain people in our lives who resemble characters in this story. The story will hook you in, keep you reading until it’s over and wanting to know what’s next! A great read from the first page to the last!

    I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It drew me in, in the very first chapter and was hard to put down. It is sometimes difficult for an outsider to be accepted into a small town and succeed in business, but Carrie was able to do it. Loved how all of the characters came together in the story and how Carrie took Emma under her wing and helped her become an amazing young lady. Since I'm a cat lover I liked that Marilynn also wrote about Tux and Skeeter and their quirky ways. I totally recommend this book and am looking forward to the next book in the series.

    This is the first book in the Breton Hill series, and I believe the first full length book by Marilynn Wrigley. This is one of my favorite types of books, small town romance. I think the author did a fantastic job of developing the characters and the town. I definitely want to continue reading this series.

    As you can read in the summary of the book, the story revolves around Carrie, who finds herself in Breton Hill after she has recently suffered the loss of her marriage, her uncle and her financial security. She is a talented, caring woman, but not very confident in her abilities. Chase Carter has pretty much blocked his emotions up after the death of his wife. That is a sad situation for his own life, but unfortunately, his daughter is also suffering from this situation. It is a blessing to the three of them when they connect, although at first, that does not seem to be the case.

    I love a story with an older character, that often shares wisdom, and this book has two, so I doubly enjoyed that aspect of the book.

    The story flowed smoothly, the characters and town are very well developed and are believable. If you like Hallmark movies, then I think you will enjoy this book. It could definitely be made into a movie for TV.
