Why does doing the right thing have to be so hard?

Leslie Collins has been asking herself that question ever since her eyewitness testimony in a murder case landed her in the Witness Protection Program far away from everything and everyone she’s ever known. Kurt Wilcox returns home to Montana to help his father recover from a stroke and hopefully mend the rift between them. When he meets up with Leslie at his club, he refuses to let her hide her identity or her reasons for inviting a stranger into her home and bed.

Leslie finally caves to his persistence and agrees to an affair that seems promising until she learns her identity has been comprised and an attempt on her life forces out the truth about her past. Will putting her trust in her Dom jeopardize him and his employees when she agrees to his protection, or will Kurt rid her of the threat against her, as he promises, leaving her free to embrace her own happily ever after?

    The Barn is a place where you can go to enjoy your Kink or you can work there and enjoy on your off time. Leslie is quiet and stand-offish and no one can seem to figure out why. (Wit Protection will do that for you). But she has caught the eye and heart of one cowboy who will go above and beyond for her.

    This is the second time I have read this book. This time I decided to read the entire series from book 1-7 in order and I am so glad I did. So now I am at book 6 which is originally the book that I found this author on last year. So now I am seeing it in the way she wrote it. Leslie is a second-grade teacher who stays at home most of the time and you would think she was shy and a loner. But in reality, she is in WITSET and can't allow herself to get close to anyone in case she has to pack up and move at a moment's notice or at the worse that person be sent by the bad dude looking for her. Then we have Kurt who is just moving back to town from Houston to take care of the Ranch he grew up on along with his father who is to say the nicest mean and sour. Kurt happens to help Leslie when a mugger grabs her outside a bar and they end up having a one-night stand. They both think they will never see each other again. Yea right fate has other things in mind... that and the girls that hang out at the Barn meet her and well lets just say she ends up there and discovers her Kurt is a master there as well. OH MAN! If you are looking for true BDSM this might not be it to the t but it is good reads.

Kurt falls for her but has his own problems with his father. There is a HEA. The ending is a bit rushed and I would love to know the answers to a few questions, but overall a great book! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. But, I loved the book so much I bought it!

    I think I have been binging on this author too long. I can almost write these stories in my head as I read them. I enjoyed the witness protection angle of this one. In Plain Sight was a favorite TV show. I have binged that more than once, so this struck my fancy. However, once we got past the meet-cute (How fun was that?) and the back stories, things got predictable. It went pretty much the way I thought except for one nice twist. Well,maybe not so nice, but tidy. Also, as expected, an abrupt ending. But, I am used to those too.

Kurt is new to the Barn and altho he went rounds with Leslie before, he jumps right on the new girl - then gets upset cause she held back information. Well he wasn't forthcoming himself so he didn't have the right to get upset with her, Leslie actually had reasons for her silence.

    I like the fact the editing is high on the author's list. Makes it so much easier to read with all the errors. I still think the books are priced too high for 200 pages.

    This is an adventurous story of giving up everything to get justice and Finding out eventually you really need to trust your heart. I liked this story but I am hoping the Next story about the Doc involves a different kind of stress... too many blood thirsty people are ending up in this little Montana town after women... might have been better is there was one after one of the men instead... A lady cop submissive stopping a jealous female stalker from hunting a Dom's Subs... could have been an interesting story. OH WELL. THE witness protection angle was an interesting change, I was surprised they didn't have a rodeo outing but the trip to the auction was kinda fun. Cutting and Roping are huge horse activities on cattle farms... it was interesting the branding was brought up in a couple books including this one. This book had a little of the previous couples and the club in the beginning but it might have been nice if they visited the club after they agreed to be together... I like this series... I hope BJ Wane's other series are as interesting. This book didn't really have much menge like some of the previous ones... it is mostly Kurt and Leslie story. Good read.

    The story of the woman caught up in witness protection program and her trouble with relationships was saddening. The growing love for Master Kurt and her issues with dealing with the number one rule in relationships in the lifestyle - honesty - and her past, that had to be kept secret for her safety, made every decision difficult. Also The development between father and son were very interesting. Reading the story kept me excited until the last chapter.
    The only thing, that made me a little upset was, that the bad guys got away too easy.
    Glascotts committing suicide came a little too fast to make it a smooth ending.
    Anyway, I hope there will be a „Submitting to the Doctor“ soon, as I got curious about Dr. Mitchell Hoffstetter, while the name made me always smile a little bit, because it reminded me very much of „BBT“.

    Having read all the earlier books in this series I found it as enjoyable as the others although there was definitely less scenes, disciplinary or sexual, than the earlier books. However they were credible and sensual. The scarcity may, in fairness, have been due to the maturity of both characters forged through the trauma experienced before they ever hook up. I felt the back story of the sinister characters was a bit skimpy on detail and felt it weakened the suspense element of the tale. Pity as this four star could have been five stars with a bit more length and depth to all elements of the story. At nearly four pounds cost, it's the first time in the series I felt slightly short changed.
