Tagging Up (Callahan Family Book 5) Kindle Edition
Being the youngest member of her immediate family, and massive network of cousins, she’s always been sheltered. That ends now. After graduating with her masters in nursing, she’s ready to move out of her parents’ house, whether they support that decision or not. While wallowing in the guilt of that choice at the local bar, she bumps into the one guy she shouldn’t go near.
A player for her family’s team and her cousin’s best friend, Clark should come with a warning label. Not only because he’s the league’s number one playboy, but because he’s significantly older than her.
Unfortunately, they can’t seem to keep their hands off of each other. That initial night together leads to scorching glances across public parties, secret hookups in hidden places, and way more than either of their hearts bargained for.
But being with Clark means lying to those closest to them. When their secret is finally discovered, it sends the already skittish bad boy running for the hills. And although she claimed to want freedom with no strings, Anna can’t help but feel the sharp pull to be with him forever.
Clark Nyle swore a long time ago he’d never be committed to anyone.
After watching his mother ruin his father through adultery and abandonment, he knows that love is for masochists and he certainly isn’t one. Baseball and living life like every day’s a party are his only two passions.
Then his father dies, and he’s forced to question everything. It leads to a barstool, too many drinks, and into the backseat of his car with the one woman he should never have touched.
Now that he’s gotten a taste of Anna, he can’t stay away. Even if their secret affair comes with way too many consequences. Her family owns the team he plays for, not to mention his best friend would cut off his balls if he knew what they were up to. Plus, he doesn’t want anything long-term, and eventually he’s going to break her heart.
But the more time he spends with her, the more he seems to want a different future than the one he always planned on. Until they’re found out, and he’s forced to choose between his demons and the disapproval of his closest friends … or her.

Author of romance novels such as Fleeting and Love at First Fight, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. Her stories are fueled by vanilla lattes, meloncholy music, and copious amounts of candles.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2021Of all of the Callahan Family novels, the story between Clark and Anna is by far the most intense. They are an example of no matter how hard you fight an attraction and a connection to somebody else, if it is meant to be, it will. They are both trying to get away from the shadow of their parents-Anna wants her independence and Clark wants to feel better about his father and his dysfunctional mother.
They both have careers that put them front and center into intense situations-Anna is a nurse and Clark is a professional ball player. Actually, he is just a player. A player who Anna has had a crush on since she was a teen. She wants to be involved with him to a smaller degree-until it becomes more. So much more.
How do two people who have a lot of pressure from family make it work? How does a woman who is grounded have a relationship with a man who only wants to be involved with people on the surface? As broken as Clark is, he wants to do everything in his power to not hurt those he loves, and it makes him someone you can respect. Somehow, as they navigate the difficulties of building a relationship, they just make it work.
This is a great series. Full of fun people, great banter, hot interactions and the love of family-both by blood and bonds. I love Carrie Aaron’s books, and this one is great!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2021Tagging Up is amazing. I love the Callahan Family so much and Tagging Up is everything I wanted for Anna. This is Anna and Clark's story. You get to see bits and pieces of Anna throughout this series and Once you really get to know her you will love her so much. She is not afraid to speak her mind or fight for more. She is a total spitfire of the Callahan family. She never lets an childhood illness hold her back. You feel for her when she goes through some family friction with getting them to see past her childhood and the adult she is. Clark is that playboy baseball player who holds everything to his chest. He loves fiercely and is loyal to his ball playing friends. I love how Anna and Clark connect each with their own family dynamic issues. I love how Anna does not push her feelings for Clark aside. You see so many wonderful changes in Clark and Anna through this read that will just own your heart. You feel the pull so strong when it comes to Anna and Clark. I love them together. Clark is so swoon worthy in this one as Anna helps mold his changing ways. There are so many sweet moments that you are going to just love. I could not put this one down. Everything Carrie Aarons brings to this one is everything I wanted and then some. Go one click this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2021I absolutely loved every single thing about this book. From the very beginning the steam factor is through the roof and it picks up speed through the entire story.
I adore Clark and to see him finally realizing he’s more than his playboy ways…. swoon worthy!!! He’s cocky and self-assured, but underneath that, he’s hurting and just needs someone to show him unconditional love.
As for Anna, she’s a spitfire in the best way. I couldn’t get enough of her putting herself out there and standing up for herself against her family and friends. I loved that she said what she wanted, and she didn’t sugar coat it for anybody.
These two together are utter perfection. In and out of bed they challenge each other, and truly see the best in one another. I’m so sad that this is the final Callahan family book but let me tell you…Carrie Aarons sends this family off with a freaking BANG! Fav book of the series, hands down!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2021This story!!!! Anna was so much more than I expected. Her ability to say whatever comes to her mind and not hold back is refreshing! How she shocks Clark on the regular. Clark is traumatized by his past and his parents relationship he thinks he will end up the same way so he stay as far away as a relationship as possible. Until he meets Anna and she slowly turns his life upside down in the best way. I loved them together and watching Clark heal and devote himself to Anna was beautiful!!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2021Unfortunately it was just a little too predictable for me. I prefer a little twist when it comes to my romance novels. Anna was way too quick to forgive him every time. There was no chase at all.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2021I loved Anna and Clark's story. Anna is feisty and Clark is a player with a good heart. These two had so much steam together. I couldn't put it down and didn't want this series to end.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2022There is a repetitious empty family background of players that becomes obvious when reading books as a series. Likable characters and entertaining, if not familiar story lines.but
Surprising and grating grammar and usage errors. I's instead of my? Constantly t use of I instead of me i.e. "She was looking at him and I". Really?? Intimated instead of intimidated and wizened (No 5) in place of perhaps wised up. Are there no proofreaders
or copy editors?
- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2021I loved going back and visiting with the Callahan crew!! And of course I absolutely loved Anna and Clark’s journey. The protected princess and the playboy. Their chemistry is off the charts HOT!! Highly recommend this sizzling read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hitting a home run!
Anna Callahan has been getting to forge her own path and going into nursing rather than joining the family business - baseball. It's her relationship with baseball that brings her into contact with Clark Nyle, pitcher extraordinaire! Their chemistry is off the charts but he's a womanizer and she's only 23! What happens when they start to catch feelings? Will they fall together or fall apart? How will the family handle them together? This was a thrilling read that had me booked from the start. The characters were both trying to escape childhood experiences and managed to find that redemption in each other! A true HEA that was much deserved!
