    This is a mm gritty romance, the second in a series that must be read in order. Harbor and Theo are drawn together in a club and once they get into one another’s orbit they can’t one another out of their heads. This book tackles the subject of first times, bisexuality and what it means to compete against your greatest love. There are also triggering topics like abuse that are in the periphery of the main story. I’m on a big fan of this author after reading this series! I love that there is just enough grit in the story that it makes it feel real but not grotesque of like peeling off faces or the like!

    I really enjoyed this one and much like the first book, I really enjoyed how the author builds up possibilities for conflict within the relationship but doesn’t take it into needless drama. Both Harbor and Theo were the hit it and quit it types, Harbor with limited experience with men, when they have their first anonymous encounter. Meeting again when Theo gets a tattoo, they begin a online flirtation and a slower buildup to admitting to actual feelings.

    I really liked these characters and how their growing relationship was shown. They know they may be facing each other as they win their individual fights. It was resolved brilliantly and differently than I might have expected. The Rourke family and the hints of other matches between the remaining brothers are woven through the narrative, keeping interest high in continuing the series. Quite impressed with this new-to-me author.

    I love this series and this book. So good. This is actually my second read through of the series and I forgot how much I enjoyed it. I always want a longer epilogue and didn’t want it to end. Harbor and Theo weren’t expecting long term and were both kind of closed off. They found something in each other that made them want to stay. The bit about being in each other’s corners was super sweet!

    Im so glad the other books were published when I started these LoL

    The connection between Harbor and Theo is instant and electric. Both being fighters, puts them physically on par with one another.

    When they find themselves matched to fight one another for the championship, the push and pull between them tells you it will be an epic ending.

    I was highly anticipating Take Down after reading Carry and Drag and I must say I was not disappointed. Michelle Frost has created a series full of people you want to know more about.
    We watch as Harbor and Theo go from a ridiculously hot hook up to realizing they both want something more. To see these two strong fighters with tender hearts underneath it all go through opening up to each other is amazing. Add in the dynamic of Harbors brothers and mom which is one of the most supportive (without being overbearing) families I’ve ever read.
    I’m excited to see what will happen with Vidar and Niko as well as Magnus and Rory.

    Oh wow! This just took the series to the next level! Both main characters are amazing, and we get such a great insight into them both with the alternating POVs. The chemistry and respect between them was amazing to read, and I loved seeing Theo learn to trust and open up to Harbor.

    I also enjoyed seeing a bit more of the other characters, although I would have loved more of Ollie and Dagen so soon after book 1, but also get that this book sat firmly in the MMA training and championship side of things where Ollie and Dagen aren't heavily involved.

    Can't wait to read the next book in the series, and more by this author. Definitely a series and author, I would recommend.
