Terror By Moonlight: MM Paranormal Romance (Critter Catchers Book 1) Kindle Edition
A charming serial dater. A serious-minded entrepreneur. A bloody start to their new business venture.
All it will ever be is a close friendship. That’s been Demetrius Singleton’s mantra for as long as he’s known his best friend, Cody Bower. It’s helped through the years as he’s watched Cody date practically every girl in town. Now several years out of college, Demetrius manages the business side of their brand new animal control service, Critter Catchers, while Cody acts as the idea man and finesses potential clients.
When their first client is brutally murdered by a large unidentified animal, they have to act quickly to save their business reputation and stay out of jail. Demetrius is distracted by a handsome new town reporter, but Cody is wary of this new arrival’s intentions. And, quite possibly, a little bit jealous. But he doesn’t feel that way for Demmy… does he?
No matter how they feel about each other, they will need to work together to uncover the truth about the gruesome murders in their small town of Parson’s Hollow before they end up victims of the beast themselves!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2021I've waited for a long time to hear the voices of Hank Edwards's characters with my very own ears. I was simply delighted when he admitted he would be investing in the audio recordings of the Critter Catcher series. I'm IN LOVE with this narrator! He read the book perfectly and I can't say how much I appreciate that. In this series, long-time buddies Cody Bower (straight) and Demetrius Singleton (gay) go into business together launching a humane pest control company (Critter Catchers). They are called out to take care of a bothersome raccoon but found a critter that is too brutal for their special methods. A werewolf is running about the small town of Parson's Hollow committing brutal murders. And the boys must solve the mystery before they become the next victims. This series is such fun and the cast of characters in the book is absolutely amazing. Enjoy, folks.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2017The story is okay if you want a light-hearted paranormal story. The focus isn't really on the paranormal, but on the relationship between the two main characters, which isn't as exciting as I thought it would be. It's pretty much the straight jock and the gay best friend who's more serious.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2022I am glad I read this book! I truly enjoyed it. It is a paranormal plot with a bit of romance. Two lifelong friends, Cody and Demetrius own a business that specializes in animal control. Demetrius would like to date Cody but Cody is very straight. But that is not the biggest part of this story. The first client is killed by something big and then it happens to their second client. Business is not exactly booming and the police are becoming suspicious of them. On top of that there is a new reporter in town that makes Cody suspicious or jealous.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2018I love a good werewolf book and that's what caught my attention to this series. I love the premise of the story...critter catchers. Two friends start a business catching critters but what they didn't expect was a werewolf. There is lots of killing in this one but there is lots of humor also. There is only one thing that irritated me and that was the references to the male anatomy. I could have done without it. But, I am moving on to the next book in this series hoping for more horror and laughter.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2019This particular story sets the tone for the series and while I don't think every aspect was pulled off, it was kind of exciting to read when the action was happening, the MC's were becoming interesting, and the will-they-won't-they is at its most basic.
Cody is incredibly childish. From the way he treats women, Demetrius, and his responsibilities to his childish antics and reactions it's clear that no one, including Demetrius has given him the kick in the pants he needs to grow up. Not even a werewolf can get him to do it either. While I don't necessarily like him, I do find myself curious to see when and how he gets his head out of a certain orifice and where it belongs. I don't think it'll come at a point where it's actually too late, but I'm really hoping to see some serious character evolution with him.
Demetrius is another matter. I think he's so mired in his own perception of things that he's going to nearly miss all the opportunities to have more with Cody sooner rather than later. His enabling of his best friend's behavior is going to snap, I can feel it, and I'm hoping the snap comes from his desire to be less of an insecure doormat and not from the paranormal creatures that have a knack for finding and tormenting him and Cody.
The creature aspect was a bit predictable in terms of what we were looking for, but not in the who-is-it bit. There were intimations a little later in the story, but only after the way-too-obvious-to-be-the-culprit person was brought in to throw us all off. I was actually hoping the super-obviously-not-the-bad-guy was going to be the bad guy. Part of me thinks that would have been a good twist because I'd be expecting it to be someone else since the "revelations" were coming on pretty thick. Having a large group of people know what was actually happening and for the MC's to only discover that fact when things were going down bloody is a thread that may or may not continue throughout the series and I'm curious to see if that'll be brushed under the rug or not.
Overall this was an entertaining story that didn't have a lot of depth but does have potential. It's an interesting start to say the least. I'm pretty sure I'll be back for more.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2021This book was a great read. Two childhood best friends trying to go into business catching wild critters. All that changes when one of their clients is brutally murdered. Suspicion falls on them until one night they run into the murderer a giant werewolf. After narrowly escaping the attack they decide they have to find out who it is. Cody is a player and Demmy is still heartbroken. When Demmy starts dating again Cody starts to get jealous but is he jealous because he's losing his best friend or something more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Story.
This was a sometimes thrilling, sometimes funny read. Cody is a bit off the wall while Demmy tries to be the more sensible one, but sometimes fails in that. They're almost like a Laurel and Hardy team as they fumble through the jobs they get and constantly bicker at each other. The mystious creature and thoroughly brutal murders add a tension to the tale making for a great read.

Well this was a rollicking good time. Beautifully paced, with lots of self-aware humour and tension between the two MC'S.
I'm hooked, off to read the next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lighthearted yet suspenseful paranormal mystery
What a wonderfully written and unique short horror story. Demmy and Cody are opening up an animal catchers (with heart) business and are initially struggling to get customers. When business starts coming in, so do the weird attacks that leave the victims shredded to pieces. Demmy and Cody get on the case and soon they’re questioning themselves and what is actually happening. The story had great pacing, and kept me hooked all the way through. There was some excellent witty and humorous banter between Demmy and Cody and the side characters, enough to lighten the tone of the book quite a bit. Finally, there were elements and hints of something romantic brewing between the long-time best friends, and although it is a huge slow-burn in this book, it left me salivating for more. I cannot wait to see what the next adventure is for Cody and Demmy!
