Elizabeth has just graduated from college and is setting up to pursue her career as an artist when she gets a call from her mother that changes everything. This was an immediate “YES” from me! I have loved RS Grey books for years now. I started with Scoring Wilder, and since then, I have made my way through most of her backlist and many new releases. Recently there have been a few misses for me, but this one really knocked it out of the park.
I LOVED Elizabeth as a character. She was from a wealthy family with an extreme spending problem, but her art kept her grounded, and she wanted to pursue it no matter the costs. Walt started this book as one of the coldest, buttoned-up businessmen I have read about. It was so sweet to get to know him more throughout the story and see glimpses of his personality shine through. I also really enjoyed reading about the art they both admired and the art Elizabeth created.
RS Grey is an author who I can always count on to write a story in a way that draws me in and makes me feel like I am right there in the room with the characters. Her descriptions are so captivating, and I really just enjoy reading her books from start to finish. It is a friendly reminder of why I love picking up a romance and reading. As always, I will also give a shout-out to some great side characters. Matthew, Walt’s brother, was such a fun addition to the story and really made me want to have a friend like Matthew in my life. He pushed the story along and had me laughing multiple times.
Overall, this is a fun romantic comedy. It is a pretty lighthearted read with a very broody hero and a heroine trying to make the best of a challenging situation. Definitely pick it up!!
