Tartila Mine (The Alchemist Book #5): LitRPG Series Kindle Edition
But even despite how obvious the answer to that question might be, many an adult had been dashed on the rocks twelve-year-old Tailyn Vlashich was supposed to climb. Ahead of him lay a secret laboratory belonging to the ancients; behind was a horde headed by his sworn enemy.
But through it all, Tailyn had those who loved him, those who believed in him, and that support was enough to carry him to the ends of the earth. There was just one question left to answer: who was the Absorber? And what did he want with Tailyn?

Editorial Reviews
Review
★★★★☆ LitRPGPodcast - This is the conclusion to the Alchemist series, though not necessarily the end to the adventures of the main character. There's lots of action and adventure. And those teasers for that other character from the author's other series showing up absolutely pay off. If you've enjoyed this series then this last book is a must read. Score: 7.8 out of 10
★★★★★ Coleman - It's one town against the world and the world is a very petty AI. Our hero meets the previous hero and gets a good look at what "winning" looks like. A great ending to a solid series that cut the Gordian knot of dangling plot threads down to something more reasonable. The ending is a hard twist but everybody gets what they deserve.
★★★★★ Karel - Great series. The series just keeps getting better and better. You can see that the MC has developed a lot though the books. Looking forward for the next book.
★★★★★ Kindle Customer - Honestly the best series I've read. First book was weaker I've even droped it for a while, but the rest is pure gold. Im not book worm or critic, so the only thing I can give you is my feelings of this series and they scream READ IT.

About the author

Vasily Mahanenko is a fantasy and sci fi author and one of the original founding fathers of the new genre of LitRPG - the MMO-based fantasy and sci fi. His debut novel The Way of the Shaman series took literature by storm in 2012.
Vasily dipped into his college-days insider knowledge as a hardcore gamer in order to create a believable world of the virtual-reality MMO game. His bestselling series combines fiction and video games, telling the story of Shaman and his friends stuck in the ruthless reality of Barliona. He used his more than ten years' experience as an ERP implementation project manager to approach his writing in a well-organized manner, working to a strict schedule, a set of deadlines and even a budget. The entire body of Vasily's works to date is available on Amazon now, with new books adding as he comes up with new fantasy worlds and stories.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2021The series has been good so far and this book really was a surprise as the series had started to get old, but book 5 was a nice change of pace.
I bought audible this time and I was dissappointed. The narrator's reading was grating...it followed an wierd lilting pattern that just rubbed me the wrong way. He did it less when he was "speaking" as one of the characters, but it was really prevalent anytime he was narrating. It wasn't awful, but it seriously bugged me for some reason.
Note, this series is definitely targeted towards a younger audience as the MC is like 13yrs old.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2021This book completes the second arc, looking forward to the next arc and to where the story goes. Sucks that mark derwin lost his humanity.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2021This was exciting until it wasn't, but then it and again not until it was again. Ya lost me too. All the prior stories in this series were mind blowing until this, the Final Installment, then not so much. Maybe should have been a part A & part B.
I got lost after the big battle that so much time was spent preparing for then didn't actually happen instead the story changed.
I was seriously let down after putting so much time into the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Overall a great series!
Unique magic system, reasonable character progression, compelling adventures. Not a huge fan of the character progression at the end. Even more so when it didn't appear to be overly relevant/necessary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not bad
Was not going to comment but this guy has some thing here that's worth reading the rest are doing upgrades here and there, in this one we have the world as a entry point to the universe interested in the next 10 books......

5.0 out of 5 stars Fang the boomerang dagger.
Pretty good ending , most loose ends tied up , Tailyn and Velia and companions fight the good fight but everyone is against them and the system isn't helping much.

4.0 out of 5 stars Absorber Appearance
Tailyn and friends are reading Mean Truk for war, when they are informed that they need more resources or they will perish. The options are Tartila Mine or Gravik, the enemies - experiments and unnamed beings or the deceased general One!
Some interesting interactions between Tailyn and the System, along with the return of favourite weapons and characters.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not sure if I'll read number 6
There's just too many loop holes and lapses of logic that turn impossibly fortuitous. "I'm just going to leave those 2 bad ass robots there. I apparently don't need them." *several chapters later* "thank god I left those robots alone for absolutely no good reason as it has miraculously saved the day." He had enough time to get the lizard to the lab. He could have reset his points earlier (before the nerf) and wiped out all the experiments. The acients didn't know about the river - but they also put traps in it. There's more in each of the previous books but I simply cba.
Also what's up with having someone declare war on you, lay seige to your city, hack through your portal (wasn't that banned? "No it only works the exact same but it has a different name". Yeah okay.) Starts killing your people - only then system punishes you for killing them? I thought it liked "balance"? "You're under seige! Kill all your opponents to survive and win! (However you're not allowed kill your opponents or you will be punished... Good luck!)" It's depressingly moronic.
I'd still say it's a fantastic series despite my obvious issues. The blatant set ups, and varied contradictions are worth the pleasure of reading
