"I am just a woman, like many of you, who has lived through beauty and ugliness, happiness, (sometimes extreme), and sadness, (sometimes heart wrenching), and have grown to love life and myself even more. I write because I love the characters, I am madly and hopelessly in love with them.

I am just a woman who is in love with love."

Brothers in life if not in blood.

Brothers in life if not in blood.
Four men with nothing in common but the Army, as an escape from something they hope to forget, are thrown together as a team. Pushed to every limit with success. Put into unimaginable danger because together they are the best weapon. Blood is not shared except in training and on the battlefields but they became brothers just the same. They share quarters, hopes and a future. But this is only the beginning. Rock, Gringo, Snake, and Bull are a fighting force and a unit, in and out of the Army. I am salivating for their stories now.

This story is definitely a prequel where it sets the stage and introducing into the main characters and how they became brothers. Not mafia or motorcycle club but military trained gone through hell brothers. We first meet Bull then the others. Four men all with history and demons. I like the headers with both real name and nickname so it is easier to learn whom is who. Lovable guys and cannot wait to read their stories and the women who tame their beasts darkness.

These four men are connected by more than friendship, their connectivity is forged through the fires that melt their souls as one. A quick, jaw-dropping story that exposes the reader to what makes these men tick. Great story that will add depth to what comes later.

REVIEW: Holy cow! Talk about scorching hot. In this novel, you have four alpha males that are thrown together in Special Ops training, learning how to truly be a single, solid band of brothers, going through three months of constant h*ll together to only emerge as a force to be reckoned with.
Then for the first time since they began training, they are granted leave before they start their missions. They Army sets them up in Germany for a little R&R. Looking forward to a little softer touch from the female form, they hit the bars in Germany. The first night they each find their own companionship, but it doesn’t satisfy them as they hoped it would. They each have a strong desire, craving and that leads to a scorching hot night with one woman. They are able to cure their craving with a willing participant.
After that night they begin their missions. Shortly after the completion of several missions and realizing it wasn’t what they were expecting they all leave the Army, only to learn they were actually trained for another kind of mission. One that would never allow any of them to live the ‘American dream’ of wives, kids and white picket fences. They reunite in a small town and the real work begins.

ARC read in exchange for honest review.

    I'm so intrigued right now.
I've been playing around this author for a while now and I gave it a shot. I really liked it.
It was crass, raw, dark, and it got me glued and wanting for more.
All the four heroes had something that got my attention and I wanted to know them deeply.
I'm really excited about the next books.

I stumbled on this book by pure chance. One of her other books, Trifecta was offered for free. Realizing it was not the first book of the series I went looking for which one was. After reading this book I’m very interested in the rest of them

“John “Bull” Smith, Samuel “Snake” Priest, Rocco “Rock” Silva, and me, Gabriel “Gringo” DeJesus.”

The prequel novella to The Program Series, is well paced, packs a punch, with a great intro to these men. Short, but far from sweet.

Ms. Catalano’s style is blunt and to the point, befitting a military/special ops team. Attention to detail, building their backstory, well fleshed out with likable characters, despite their histories.

“Our minds had been programmed, our bodies had been sculpted. Our hunger needed to be satisfied.”

The groundwork for this series, and these four men, leaves you thirsting for more.
