About the author

E. M. Moore is a USA Today Bestselling author of Contemporary and Paranormal Romance. She's drawn to write within the teen and college-aged years where her characters get knocked on their asses, torn inside out, and put back together again by their first loves. Whether it's in a fantastical setting where human guards protect the creatures of the night or a realistic high school backdrop where social cliques rule the halls, the emotions are the same. Dark. Twisty. Angsty. Raw.
When Erin's not writing, you can find her dreaming up vacations for her family, watching murder mystery shows, or dancing in her kitchen while she pretends to cook.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchasePrepare yourself for an emotional rollercoaster with Free Fall. This book took me completely by surprise—not in the way I expected, but in the best way possible. What I thought would be a typical RH (Reverse Harem) bully romance quickly revealed itself to be so much more—and infinitely more heart-wrenching.
At its core, Free Fall is a raw and beautifully emotional exploration of grief, love, and healing. Briar is struggling with the overwhelming loss of her brother Brady, and her spiral into darkness is both painful and real. Enter Brady's best friends—Cade, Reid, and Lex—three alpha personalities who, in their own way, are determined to pull Briar back from the edge. Each one brings something different to the table: Cade, the charming jokester; Lex, the sweet, sensitive soul; and Reid, the ultimate “alpha” with a bite to his personality that sometimes makes him hard to love. Reid’s intense, in-your-face approach is definitely a standout, but there were moments when I wasn’t sure if he was helping or pushing Briar further away.
As Briar battles her inner demons, the tension between her and these three men shifts and evolves, creating a dynamic that’s intense and multifaceted. Though the romance isn’t what I initially expected (and be warned, it’s not RH), the journey to Briar finding herself—and finding love—is a journey worth taking.
The emotional stakes are high, but the book doesn’t stop there. Alongside the turmoil of Briar’s grief, there’s a toxic ex-girlfriend who’ll have you shaking your head and an online boyfriend who adds a layer of suspense that keeps you guessing. While I had a hunch about the boyfriend’s true nature from the start (and my suspicions were spot-on), I would’ve loved a little more of a twist to keep things even more unpredictable.
All in all, Free Fall is a captivating read that held my attention from start to finish. While it’s not the typical RH story many might expect, it’s a beautifully crafted F/M romance with deep emotional resonance and a story that lingers long after the last page. If you're ready for a story that tugs at your heartstrings and delivers more than just a romance, this one’s for you. Just go in with an open mind and a box of tissues—you’re going to need them.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2022Format: KindleVerified PurchaseSo I happened to find this little gem maybe 6 or 8 months ago. Not sure why it popped up on my suggestion list since all I read is Reverse Harem now. And this definitely isn't a Reverse Harem book. Look I'll read a regular M/F book if I think I'll like it, but they usually don't capture my attention anymore like RH does. But sometimes it happens.
I will say this is my third time reading this book and I'm finally going to write a review for it.
I will start by saying I liked Briar in this book, I felt for her in this book, I think she was pretty relatable in this book. She's a young girl who just unexpectedly lost her big brother to an aneurysm and she makes a bad mistake by running away. I think it was understandable and at least she realized what she did was wrong.
I unfortunately wasn't a fan of Reid's. I didn't like how he treated her, I didn't like how he spoke to her, I didn't like how he was trying to control what she did or didn't do. Cause let's be honest here it was about control here. Look I get he was scared she was just going to up and leave again, I get he was trying to help her parents out. But there had to be a better way to doing it.
Like I said above I obviously loved this book because I've read it three times. I did have some issues with it though as mentioned with Reid, I didn't like how he spoke or tried to control things Briar did. I also loved Lex and Cade. Especially Lex, I almost wish she had chosen Lex over Reid.
I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!!

E.M. Moore became another new to me author this year, because I get the chance to meet her at a signing this July and I decided to start with her Spring Hill Blues series.
Free Fall is a young adult story that deals mainly with loosing a person you love. How a young person deals with grief and about finding first love. Even though there are three guys with Cade, Lex and Reid who's lives revolve not only around football but help the sister of their best friend, after he died, this is not a RH story. It might have vibes of a love triangle, but IM it's far away from being actually one.
The beginning was full of repeating things and phrases and I wasn't sold until about 40% into the book. I can't consider it a full bully story either. Might because the reason why Cade, Lex and Reid pushed Briar.
I actually missed some parent interaction in this book. Because Brady's best friends and his sister weren't the only ones losing him. As well as Briar's behavior should have brought her parents more into the story, not leaving three teenagers dealing with it.
I also had trouble believing Reid that he loves Briar, quite the contrary to Lex.
Nevertheless, the story itself and how everyone was dealing with their grief was what kept me reading. I found myself invested in the characters and wanted to know how Briar develops. Luckily I didn't have to wait for the second book and could continue right away.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sports bully romance with a twist
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseSports, Bully, an Alphahole, a Goofball and a Caring one, a feisty AF female and some serious STEAM - check and check!
Briar is so incredibly complex and highlights what can happen to a person following immense trauma, she's so consumed by the grief of losing her brother, Brady. She became a fraction of the person she was before Brady passed, we get the story from her POV so we really feel like we're going through the motions with her.
Lex, Cade and Reid are the three hotshot football players who were Brady's best friends. Reid is the ring leader, Star QB and total alphahole who is behind of the unwanted attention Briar is getting. Cade is the loveable goofball who I obviously adore the pants off! Lex is the more reserved and nurturing one. I low key shipped Lex and Briar together ngl!
The tension, the angst, the push and pull was so intense! I felt protective of Briar, the tactics the guys used were more extreme than a bit of the old tough love to bring her back to herself, that bully element teamed up with the emotional story...I was a goner for at least half of the book! But then Reid goes through some serious character development, who knew this guy was capable of being so damn sweet from how he started?! Well apparently not me because I was shook! Also harbouring deep emotions and trying to cope with the same loss has taken its toll on him so I was willing to forgive him for his earlier misdemeanours!
Sweetness aside, be prepared because this is still a bully romance and THAT ENDING?! Just...so mean to put us through this cliff hanger Erin! Luckily I'm late to this party so I can just go on ahead and jump into the next book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dynamite story so far!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAnother awesome start to another amazing series!! So much about this book was wonderful. My heart breaks for Briar. So much grief. I’m not someone who subscribes to the “fake it TIL you make it” mantra. Especially when it comes to dealing with grief. Unfortunately that seems to be what everyone wants Briar to do. Hide her grief so that they can feel better about trying to deal with their own. It was Uber frustrating that she didn’t realize who Ezra was (I knew ASAP and I’m sure I screamed it out loud several times). Cannot wait for book 2. Although I’m positive at what is going to be demanded of Briar and I’m not going to be happy about it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bit of a slow read
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI will admit I struggled with this book.
The storyline, characters and writing were all decent, but there was a lot of dragging feet throughout the story.
