Normally, Marisa loves telling stories that “reach into your heart and rip it out.” THE BOX is an exception. Her main goal is to make her readers feel all the emotions that her characters go through. She is an avid reader and some of her favorite books bring tears to her eyes when she talks about them. She wants to give her readers the same type of experience. Marisa loves connecting with readers and has a reader’s group on Facebook, Marisa’s Groupies, where she interacts with members frequently. Marisa has three full-length novels in the Falling Series, The Falling of Love – Book One, The Falling of Grace – Book Two, and The Falling of Hope – Book Three. She also has a story based on The Falling series, Learning to Breathe, which follows Michelle and her boyfriend, Micah. She also has the contemporary romance follow-up series, After We Fell which includes three published books and the fourth soon to be released. She joined forces with authors Emma Payne, Noah Wilde, and S.M. Rose in creating a unique Angelia Rourke erotic anthology series, Naughty & Nice. Marisa plans to release a novel titled Such a Pretty Face, a contemporary romance novel that will explore the self-esteem issues of the main female character, with a romantic, witty, and heartwarming story.     I love this book. It's out of my comfort zone of what I normally read, but I just had to give it try. I'm so glad I did. This is the first book that I was unable to predict how it was going to end. It's a fast-paced dark erotic book that will excite you, keep you guessing, and leave you unable to put it down. It's full of twists you won't see coming. I highly recommend this book.

    I enjoyed this story line so much. I actually felt sorry for Iris and wanted her to escape or try to run put up some type of fight against the King (Nathan). I was cheering for her and really hated King. The whole story carried you on a sexual journey and you watch Iris give in to her needs and wants. The end really floored me, never saw it coming. A really good job. Looking forward to more work by this author.

    Dark and tantalizingly erotic! I couldn’t imagine waking up in a box not being able to move. But Iris’ does, her mixed emotions of fear, curiosity, and arousal throughout the story were palpable. Then there’s the masked King who is Iris’ captor that treats her like his own personal toy. This story even has a dash of mystery as Iris tries to figure out who King is, along with the others who took part in the deliciously erotic experience and they are wearing masks as well. There were some almost unnoticeable hints as to the way the story ended but it still blew my mind.

    Though this was a new-to-me author, the blurb for this one was intriguing, and the price was right, so I gave this one a try. I am not a dark book novice—and perhaps that is what did me in—but I found this book poorly executed.

    The beginning held promise as the book opens with the heroine realizing her situation and fearing anxiously what her captor plans for her. However, it quickly became apparent to me through the heroine's emotions and internal monologue that something was off.

    This book has a twist. And it's a big one. To pull it off the author needs to be incredibly careful with how much they allow the heroine to reveal. For me, this is where the book failed. Realizing what the twist was, took away from the intended "wow" factor of the book and made for frustrating reading.

    The Box has a lot of potential, but unfortunately for me, it was poorly executed.

    This book is like nothing you have read before. Author Marisa Oldham has reached out of THE BOX and brought something dark and a undeniably realistic story!
    I have read all of Marisa Oldham’s books and this was completely different from any of her books.
    There are some triggers in this book so please be cautious when reading but it made it even more tantalizing to read.
    I am very impressed with her writing and I think anyone else that does will love this also.
