The Complete Beacon Saga Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 12 ratings

At the end of time, a miraculous discovery threatens a vast refugee fleet, and a young family will be hurled into a deadly mission alongside dangerous aliens.
They call it the Shroud, and Beacon is the only star that survived its wrath. At this endpoint of existence, humanity lingers on alongside every living species. Vast layers of orbiting ships can provide you everything--except children. So when Mally and Tersias conceive, they are instant celebrities, lavished with accolades and gifts. But their act will carry a high cost, starting with the return of mankind's most dreaded enemy. And the end will become the beginning, in this sweeping tale of discovery, of intrigue, of war, of love against all odds, in which the only thing more dangerous than the dead of space are a few terrible secrets.
For the first time, this omnibus brings together all BEACON SAGA SERIAL installments in one special collection. Enjoy this well-reviewed serial from the very beginning, and a bonus "deleted scene", at a better value than purchasing all installments separately!

I have not read the book, but I am curious if the book will continue the story since the wonderful, thrilling TV series was cancelled?

What a wonderful adventure. I am so glad I discovered this boxed set. This series started out as short serials and was finally put into one book with 12 parts. I was hooked from the beginning. I cut my teeth reading science fiction masters: Asimov, Sturgeon, Clarke, Le Guin, Bradbury, Heinlein, etc. In my opinion, I would put this epic right up there with Asimov's Foundation series, Clarke's Childhoods End, Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles, Heinlein's Stranger In A Strange Land and others. It resonated with me because so many books classified as science fiction today are really fantasy. It was nice to wander into an imaginary post apocalyptic on a universe level. I admire writers of tomes that hold my attention. I felt like I got to know Mally, Tersias, Shiplord Nastron, Thrat and Rurek. Faith and Chool were so advanced they were somewhat difficult to understand - which was the author's intention.

I’ve written separate reviews for each book in the BEACON series, but wanted to write a review for the boxed set as well. Although the prices might eventually change, right now the first two books in the series are free. After reading those first two books, I was hooked and realized I’d save money by purchasing the boxed set of all eight books, rather than purchasing each one separately. This series did not disappoint! Every book in the BEACON series expands the story so seamlessly, the boxed set can be read as one tightly-written novel. THE COMPLETE BEACON SAGA is action-packed space opera with a fantastical storytelling style reminiscent of Ray Bradbury in THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES or Arthur C. Clarke in CHILDHOOD’S END. A wonderful addition to science fiction!
