This book can be read as a standalone.

In the quiet streets of Baynor Green, a closely guarded secret lurks behind every corner.

Sarah Colling, a local favourite, is opening a hip new café on the main street, but when her first love walks back into her life, painful questions follow.

Britney Adamson, a young single mother on the other side of town, is struggling to build a future for her son, Noah, and forget the betrayal that has haunted them both. She doesn't have time for a man, especially not her son's new teacher.

The two women lead opposing lives but discover that they have more in common than they realise. Beneath Baynor Green’s small-town charm lies an underbelly of privilege, scandals, and dark secrets that some will keep hidden at any cost, and with Britney and Sarah connected by a single, terrible event of the past, their destinies are set on a collision course that neither can foresee.

**The Divide is the first novel in the enticing Baynor Green series, and it contains scenes of abuse, bad language, and sexual content.

If you enjoy your romances on the steamy side, this is a must read. This second chance story is set in the UK, a bit of romance with Brisish flair. These two women were from opposite backgrounds and share a devastating secret from their past. I loved every page and kept me guessing until the very end.

This is a debut from this author and the first in a series. Sarah is opening a new café in town, and as she has been hurt in the past, she finds it difficult to trust people, and she is thrown a curveball when Jack, the man who broke her heart returns after being away for 10-years. Britney is a strong and independent single mom, who tries to give her son Noah the best life, and she also struggles to trust people, that is until she meets Dylan, her son’s teacher, but her past is coming back to haunt her. Sarah and Britney are opposites, but they have more in common that they think, and they may be from different backgrounds, but they share a devastating secret about their pasts. This is a well written story which has an intricate and in-depth storyline, with secrets, betrayal, drama, intrigue, scandals, romance, suspense, twists, and love, which leads to a riveting and addictive page turner. This story ends in a cliffhanger, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author.

When they were eleven, Sarah and Jake shared their first kiss behind the large tree in the corner of the school field. Jake asked Sarah to be his girlfriend on her twelfth birthday, which fell on the first week of year seven. Even at such a young age, they both knew that many people in their lives would not approve, due to their different backgrounds.

Sarah and Jake were always meant to be, until they weren't. Jake suddenly leaves town, breaking Sarah's heart. One thing after another lead them back together. But it's a long road.

Britney Adamson has had a hard life. She's determined to make it a better one for her child. Despite the fact that the dead beat dad is long gone.

Many lives overlap in this story and it's a great story! Loved the different points of view. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This book is everything; I went in blind and ended with a book hangover. I need the next book ASAP! The pages just kept turning in a book that reads like a soap opera. I had to know what would happen next, the drama, the chatter, the secrets. The gossip is next level!

Sarah and Britney are both strong females, and they have a connection and pasts. But it is their future we get to discover. The second chances, the steam, the suspense, and plenty of drama make this a hard book to put down.

As a debut novel, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and layers of the story, plus the development of the characters. As the first book in the Baynor Green series, I am excited to read more.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Wow what a start to a new series! This is a extremely layered story with a lot going on. This is a small town read with many characters who have known each other their full lives. They have loved each other, hated each other and helped each other. We have long time friends, former lovers and exstanged family members. People we trust with our deep dark secrets and people who like to put people down and gossip. I was Extremely entertained and look forward to seeing what this series brings. The characters have amazing depth and the story is well written. Each character brought their own personality and piece to the puzzle. The big wonderful giant puzzle of this amazing story. I seriously can’t wait to see what happens next.

This is the first I've read by Holly Annaleisha. I was not disappointed. Good story line with some great characters, and I can already see some set ups for 2 more books out of this crew. A lot of the women in this town seriously need to get a life. Britney just couldn't catch a break and your heart just breaks for her. I found myself being her biggest cheerleader. Sarah is finally getting things in order when her past comes walking back in the door. The time these two wasted was crazy! Just talk already!! I definitely want to see what is up with Ryker and Brooke. That ending though?????? I did not see that coming at all!!!!

    Rating: 3 1/2 stars.

I enjoyed the cast of characters and the social interactions. The depiction of life on both sides of the financial divide was well written. The characters were believable and the ones intended to be liked were likable.

I felt the writing and story could use a little polish but wasn't detrimental to my reading the book.

There were good guys and enough bad (either misunderstandings or downright horrible characters) to make for good back and forth.

Thanks to the author and Grey's PR for the ARC.
