The Forgotten Commander (The Lost Planet Series Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.0 out of 5 stars 992 ratings

Our planet, Mortuus, is lost and dying.
A desolate place where a few lone survivors dwell.
My men have lost hope. Our future is bleak.
Longevity is a luxury we can’t afford.
The most we can hope for is survival.
We’ve all but given up when an opportunity presents itself.

Five females—a chance at a future.
Procuring these women went against everything I’d been taught, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
They’re ours now.
Asleep and made ready for breeding.
We won’t die out—lost and forgotten.
It’s our destiny to grow and once again inhabit our lonely planet.

I am Breccan Aloisius, the forgotten commander.
My people will have the future they deserve.
I’ll make sure of it.

My mind is made up…until she wakes and nothing goes as planned.

**ARC REVIEW** Kristi & Nicole made we fall in love with Aliens!!!! 😍 Didn't want this book to end!! I don't really read sci-fi but once I saw the author was K Webster I jumped on it and was not disappointed. Breccan is the Commander (leader) of his kind. Their left on their planet without any resources to procreate and grow their alien race. Aria is a Hollywood actress who has been having some difficulty in her life. She finds herself in shock and awe when she's awaken in a world she never knew existed. Breccan finds a solution to their problem, to expand their race with the and only Aria. Aria is not alone... Will Aria be so complacent in becoming a breeder for Breccan or will she fight to the end to go back home to the life she thought she had.

Yesssss. A dangerous planet with a dying people whose only hope is a group of stolen women who could mean a future if the commander has anything to say about it. I am SO here for this.

To be fair, I wasn't sure I would be okay with the forced impregnation scenario, but.... BUT BUT BUT it totally worked for this story. While I'm not a big fan of the idea of something like that being done to women without their consent, I do understand where Breccan and the surviving morts were coming from when Breccan made the decision. I think it was how Breccan reacted once Aria was awake and able to make her voice heard that turned the tide for me.

Well, that and how utterly sweet (while somehow also being kind of vicious and survival-minded) the morts were when all was said and done.

As for Aria, her muddled memory complicates things. She's completely confused by how she ended up on a transport ship to be stolen and brought to the planet. (and when we do find out the circumstances...heh! Yessssss. You do what you have to do, Aria.) But, she's also smart enough to realize her well-being currently rests in the hands of the aliens who awakened her. So she plays her part and ends up falling for Breccan as she gets to know him.

A dangerous, doomed, messed-up planet with a group of dangerous, doomed, sexy space vampire aliens. I'm totally down with this world and all the crazy in it.

I went into this blind. I heard K Webster wrote an alien romance and said "what the heck, I like sci-fi romance", and here we are...

This one was really flipping bizarre, usually the alien romances I read have humanoid aliens that closely, if not completely, resemble humans. This one had and I quote "big evil-looking elf-eared vampire", [insert cry-laughing emoji]. I laughed so much while reading this story.

Aria, our little human alien starts off pretty pathetic, scared, weak but, she completely flips the script on us and proves to be pretty rekking kicka--.

Breccan was cool. More of a naive and innocent terrifying alien.

A LOT OF GROWTH WAS SHOWN THROUGHOUT THIS STORY, yes all caps because I am hella impressed.

This could have been a really dark "dubious consent" story but, it wasn't. A lot was taught about consent, choices, options, being a person, all the while being a good story with a decent plotline and a lot, A LOT of steam.

I can't wait to dive in to the next in the series.

I'd also like to point out I have never read anything by Blanchard but, I'm really liking this pairing.

I've read just about everything that K. Webster has written and a few of Nicole Blanchard's books, so I was totally jazzed for this one. And with very good reason. It was so good. I mean, just soooooo good.

Breccan and his morts are the last 10 beings left on their planet until 2 of his morts bring back 5 human women in stasis. And miracle of miracles, they are compatible. Then Aria wakes up and Breccan goes a little crazy.

I felt so bad for Breccan and his morts. I mean, they totally broke my heart. The situation that they have found themselves in, through no fault of their own, is just devastating. I couldn't do what they do. And then Breccan and his UV addiction. Oh man.

I also feel so bad for Aria. I mean, she's been stuck in stasis with no clue as to what's going on and she wakes up in pain, and then some alien wanting to be with her. It has to be so terrifying for her to try and figure out what she needs to do. I don't blame her for being sad, scared, angry, or whatever else she may be feeling. She has every right to those feelings.

A lot of the problems that go on in this book are because two cultures are trying to get together and that is never easy, but they don't even really have a common place to start from, so it's even harder than it would be for 2 humans getting together from 2 cultures. So, there's a lot of problems around that.

This story is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes incredibly joyful, and sometimes incredibly frustrating, but always incredible.

I read a lot of Alien romance stories usually with human females being the last hope for a dying race, but this one was just different. Different in a good way. I liked the closeness the Morts had for each other, and how just how deadly their whole world is. This first book establishes how they find women in Cryo tubes, and bring them back to the base. Waking Ava, who was apparently a former actress, who was kept hooked on drugs to keep her compliant for her manager, and has no idea how she came to be frozen in a tube, in a space ship, her journey to becoming the Commanders wife, and Mother to his child is at times violent, and sometimes sweet, and tender. I look forward to the next book to fill in the questions about where the women came from, and will the second woman Emery, be cured of her chronic asthma. It does end in a cliff hanger

The Forgotten Commander was exhilarating! K Webster and Nicole Blanchard teamed up to give us a really sexy sci-fi story. Breccan is from the planet Mortuus which happens to be dying out. When he and his fellow morts stumble on some human women, they decide that cross breeding is a way to help the planet and keep morts from becoming extinct. Aria is the first to be awoken and tested upon. Once Breccan sets his sights on her, he has to have her. As the story unfolds, romance blossoms between this unlikely pair. There are challenges that lie ahead, will Aria and Breccan survive this? Will Breccan's plan to procreate Aria be successful? This book was unique, steamy, taboo, captivating, and all-consuming. I was hooked from the start and can't wait to see what happens in the continuing saga, of The Lost Planet series. This is a must read for sci-fi romance readers.

On the rare occasions when I read a m/f romance, it has to be rekking marvellous to hold my interest. This was rekking marvellous.
Purple was my preferred alien colouring, but now it has serious competition from Breccan - a sexy, albino, animalistic, vampiric lookalike giant with elf like ears 😁.
Due to a vicious plague like illness that swept through their planet like a tornado, only 10 men remain alive. Without females to re-populate their planet, they will all perish - alone and forgotten.
Aria is a survivor. Her life isn’t her own anymore, she is banded around like a commodity - to be used and then discarded like trash. She has been in difficult situations before and always got herself out. Waking up somewhere strange isn’t uncommon for her, waking up from a cryotube on a strange planet is definitely strange though.....even for her!
If getting pregnant is the only way of escaping, so be it. It’s not like that it’s the first time in her life that she feels cherished and wanted, is it? Or that she wants to stay forever, is it? Or she is going to miss the way Breccan says ‘rekking’ on a regular basis, is it? Or wanting to help those four other woman trapped in their own cryotubes, is it? Or is it?

Rekkingfabulous! And I want more, so I’m straight off to read Calix and Emery’s (his little lilapetal) story right now!
Five big fat rekking glorious stars from me 😁

I have read this genre before a hundred times but still I find this book fascinating, I heard people talking about rape the forced impregnation by aliens to help man girls while their in stasis. What u guys don't realised is that their in an alien planet with aliens who are in the brink of extinction so they did what they think is necessary to survived. Anyway these morts turned out to be decent sweet aliens (men) who would do anything for this mates. I loved how they refer to their heads as their nogs lol

    3.0 out of 5 stars It's Sci-fi Romance.
Reviewed in India on February 17, 2019
I have been a fan of K. Webster's books. When one of my fellow reader recommended this book I decided to go in Blind and enjoy it. The Premise of the story is about Aliens, Humans and survival. I am not much into reading Sci-fi books, I'd rather prefer Sci-fi movies over Books. So I initially was truly excited about the plot on how Breccan the forgotten commander and the Morts are struggling for survival and how they get five Aliens (Humans). They discover about how both the species are compatible for procreation and then the story kicks in. Aria is a human who is an actress with a bad past and presently is the only one human who is being tested for Compatibility and turns out she is so Breccan claims her to be his Mate. From there we enjoy the journey of how two species embrace each other and their lives tangle in an effort to survive. I enjoyed Our Protagonists Breccan and Aria. Two different species who Care about each other in their own way and deserve the best from life. A sweet love story with an happily ever after.
What I didn't enjoy was the Monotonous generic plot. I expected something more interesting because K. Webster as an author is amazing with her Plot and Characters. So a bit disappointed there.
But would definitely grab the second book in the series as I feel the need to explore what happens in the next installment.
