In his former life, he was a sales agent calling on oil and gas companies from the far north of Alaska's Arctic to Huston and Aberdeen in Scotland. After years of being on the road, he retired to write down the stories that had been bouncing around in his head for years. Now, he lives in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada with his lovely wife and enjoys writing detective fiction novels with a twist. He's happy he's off the road and following his passion.

    I believe I have read all of this series: they are all fantastic! The little details that you take for granted and then come back (causing that "oh yeah, THAT'S why that information was there!"). Like most of the books in this series, I read it several times before writing this (and, truthfully, I get something else out of each reading) so I believe it is a book you'll come back too frequently. Kudos to Mr. Nicholson for another great adventure with Bernadette Callahan!

    Brilliantly written crime drama that will keep the reader on the edge of their seat at times. Bernadette is determined to help her friends even if this puts herself in danger. The storyline is fast paced and the characters’ personalities, both main and secondary, have been well-developed. I loved the final chapters. Great read.

    Bernadette is about to enter the RCMP cadet training academy and receives the word that her friends’ parents have been abducted in Santa Lucia, in the Caribbean. She rushes to help but if she fails to return in time she loses her spot in the RCMP intake, if she gets involved in police investigation or any controversy, she will rejected for training. Her friend Melinda’s parents supported a wild and lonely, teenage Bernadette, she can’t let them down. This plot is full of twists and turns as the kidnappers use fraud, murder, assault and attempted murder to stay ahead of the police, private investigators and a determined Bernadette. If you enjoy lots of action, intrigue, humour and great characters this is the book to read.
