    I was first introduced to Avery and Grayson in R.C. Martin's debut novel, The Promises We Keep. I fell in love with them then and this novella is their time in the spotlight as newlyweds.
    Avery and Grayson have fought through thick and thin to be together. Marriage will prove to be no different, but the great part about it when you're married as Mr. and Mrs. O'Conner? When you get mad, you fight and you fight naked! That's fair. right? A lot of things could be worked out if many other married couples followed their style of fighting!
    The love between Avery and Grayson grows in this novella and will have you swooning into the honeymoon phase right along with them. They feel unstoppable and on top of of the world until the unimaginable happens and threatens to shatter both of their souls to their very core. It leaves their world in turmoil and they are not sure that they can even persevere through the darkness together; as they have always promised to do.
    R.C. has the ability to draw her readers in so that you feel every emotion that her beautiful characters feel. Every high as well as every low. This is going to be a steamy, hot, and exciting read that will pull at your heart strings.

    I fell in love with Grayson and Avery early on in this series and I was thrilled to find a follow up for them.

    I shouldn’t be surprised but I admit, this story punched me in the heart over and over again. They are so sweet together, having married and settled into married life with a lot of joy and hope for their future. When they hit a curve ball, that is only the start of their challenges. They are going to have to cling to each other, to the love they share, to make it through…

    When a story can take you from the highs to the lows and everywhere in between you know it is something special. Grayson and Avery have it all, until suddenly they don’t. How do you reconcile that? Pain, rage, self-doubt, guilt – there is that and more when they struggle to deal with all that life is throwing at them. I was pulled in to each emotion – and I have the Kleenex box to prove it. I loved this glimpse into where this couple is, and where they are heading. I hope there is more to come – there has to be more!

    If you want to lose yourself in a sweet yet sexy, sad, but ever hopeful, story than you have come to the right place!

    I was over the moon excited to read more on Grayson and Avery! I fell in love with this couple so hard and I was so happy going into this story. This story started out smoking HOT! Like I was kind of embarrassed reading this story in my living room with my kids around. I know they had no idea what I was reading but I was blushing reading through the first chapter! Seriously, the chemistry between these two is off the charts! Then RC Martin does her thing in her writing and takes me to the other extreme where my heart was breaking for these two. I'm not going to go into details but RC touches on a topic that is so sensitive as many, unfortunately, encounter this situation. She delivers a story that touched my heart and made me fall even more in love with these two. Another amazing story by RC Martin!

    "I know what it's like to be loved by you."

    I loved Sonny and Shorty in The Promises We Keep. At first thought of being able to read more of their story, I was so excited. My immediate, second thought was that I was probably going to be in for a ride with this friends to lovers couple.

    "Saddle up sweetheart."

    Written in first person point of view, The O'Conners was such a bright and loving story. Grayson and Avery are now exactly that, husband and wife. They have entered into the honeymoon phase of love and marriage, and as many newlyweds would be, they are not quite prepared for the changes that occur during that phase of life.

    "Maybe tomorrow will be the day I can keep my tears at bay."

    Grayson and Avery have experienced such highs since discovering their love for one another. I knew that at some point life would have to rear its ugly head and make some waves. When it did, it was painful to read. Hearing the intensity of thoughts and emotions that each of them went through was like being a bystander in their pain. I was begging for hope and grace to heal their situation and make them whole again. Author R. C. Martin respectfully and carefully wrote about their lowest moments allowing for love to shine through it all, and keeping their sweet and happy ending, letting their sexy edge illuminate the periphery like the silver lining on the cloud.

    When I found out that R.C. was releasing this surprise novella I was BEYOND ecstatic! I wasn’t sure what I was expecting, but what I read was WAY beyond what I envisioned for Grayson and Avery O’Conner. I am so, so happy with this story!

    I didn’t think I could fall any harder for Avery and Grayson. I was so, so wrong. These two, they SLAY me. My heart. Oh my heart! I absolutely adore this couple, beyond words. Grayson is absolutely to DIE for. He’s the sweetest most caring and romantic man ever. He will do anything for the love of his life, his heart, his soul, his woman Avery.

    This short story definitely packs a punch right to the heart! I laughed hard and I cried even harder. My breath...STOLEN....on more than one occasion. This story is gripping, emotional and intense. It is also sexy and fun! It’s EVERYTHING. The love between Grayson and Avery is so passionate and just utterly beautiful. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this story.

    But the one thing that stands out the most?

    IT.

    FELT.

    REAL.

    All of it.

    And THAT. THAT. Is the magic of R.C. Martin. It was truly an honor to read this story and my heart will never forget The O’Conners.
