The Runner: Across centuries and class divides, their love faces its darkest hour. (Twin Flames Book 3) Kindle Edition
Twin Flame souls bound across centuries must overcome their greatest challenge yet.
Newlyweds Cara and George Cavendish have finally reclaimed their Tudor ancestral home, but their hard-won peace is short-lived. When Cara discovers a mysterious gateway in the house, she realises their Twin Flame journey is far from complete.
Suddenly transported to 1729, Cara finds herself a penniless governess at Willow Manor, where Earl George Cavendish —bound by duty to his noble bloodline—fights their overwhelming attraction. Despite their instant connection, their forbidden love across the class divide threatens everything George holds dear.
As George battles between love and duty, a sinister nemesis shadows their path, determined to separate them. When this evil adversary wins Willow Manor in a fateful card game, George contemplates the unthinkable—burning his ancestral home to the ground with himself inside.
With time unravelling around them, Cara must convince George of their eternal destiny before their nemesis destroys their past, present, and future.
A spellbinding tale of destiny and sacrifice where love must triumph over an evil that hunts them through time.
Perfect for fans of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander, Susanna Kearsley and Paula Brackston.
“Love this series about the same couple across the centuries. Another great read in the series. I find the past life element combined with time travel fascinating and love how the books stay with the same couple which is rare.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“Fascinating. Great story as always. The idea of two people destined to always find each other has always fascinated me. Great series.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

About the author

Rachel Henke’s historical novels are romantic adventures about soulmates, destined to be together against all odds. She has a soft spot for tortured heroes and the strong women who redeem them.
Her latest WW2 romantic fiction series, Seagrove & Raven, is a fan favourite.
Rachel lives with her real-life romantic hero in the beautiful Surrey town of Weybridge, where the Rivers Wey and Thames meet. She spends her days drinking excellent coffee, telling tales, and meeting the incessant demands of their bossy toy poodle.
Rachel also writes as R.A. Henke where she crafts captivating contemporary billionaire romance novels in the Rochesters series, delivering intensely emotional stories that explore the redemptive power of love.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2022Wow!!! I got this book when I came back from vacation and just like the other two was blown away. Georgiana times was wild!! Cara or (Caroline) in this book was really frustrated. The differences in "class" between her and George made you wonder if they'd ever get back to each other. Loved all the references to, to the priest hole from Tudorville and poor Eddie wondering why he wasn't there (or was he). All in all by the end I was laughing and when you read it you'll know why. Another couldn't put down book from Rachel!! Can't wait for book 4. This book eludes to it. Loved it!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2022I love that the author is continuing the love story in this series of books. "The Runner" is filled with beautiful writing and imagery throughout the book. I simply love how the author has continued the Cavendish family’s story, intertwining it with new mysteries and historical information. I also love how the author has made sure to NOT paint George as a “saint” but rather, explore his depression, alcoholism, etc. in the 1729 timeline. Whenever I read Rachel Henke's books, I feel as though I am living in that century, in that timeline. Readers, you will not be disappointed! Fans of "Outlander" will love this series! ~D Peerce
- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2022I absolutely love this series!! I think this is the best book of the series so far. Time traveling with Cara and George is a lot of fun, because you never know what will finally bring them together. Looking forward to the next installment, The Covenant

5.0 out of 5 stars Love, love, LOVE!
This is the third book in Rachel’s Twin Flame series (so far!) and the third one I’ve read, third one I’m loving and third one I couldn’t put down! I’d never read a time travel novel before these books and it was the romance and specifically Twin Flame element that got my attention…They’re fascinating and I love seeing how everything connects. Cannot wait until book 4 comes out and how Kate’s story develops!! Oh and if you haven’t already checked out the download from Rachel’s website about George and Cara before the first book…go do it! That had me hooked too and Rachel, please keep it all coming!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it
It was nice to see Ralph Knight get his comeuppance as such in this story. I have to say I hope that is the last he is seen but not sure. George and Cara's story continued to unfold and it seems they might not be the only time traveller in the family. It is going to be a long wait till December for The Covenant.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading these books so far.
