Out in the swamps of the Florida Everglades lies the key to unlocking all the Grove’s secrets.

Just when Kai thought being trapped in a car with his crush, Rhys, would be the worst thing to happen to him, a witch known as Ms. Josephine has revealed the truth about Ember’s powers—a truth Kai thinks would ostracize Ember from the pack. He just has to find a way to convince Rhys that keeping this secret is the right thing to do.

Tristin doesn’t trust her cousin, Ember. She also doesn’t like her, but that’s beside the point. Tristin’s inner banshee is screaming at her, letting her know that there’s just something not right about Ember’s magic. A lead from an unlikely source sends her back to New Orleans to dig up dirt on Ember’s father, leading to an outcome she never could have imagined.

While Kai and Tristin try to get to the bottom of their cousin's powers, Ember and Mace are forced to make an uneasy alliance—an alliance filled with zombies, sexual tension, and exploding corpses. As secrets are revealed, the pack starts to unravel. Hurt feelings and misunderstandings overshadow the clock ticking down on Kai's and Ember’s heads until a standoff leads to tragedy.

Can the pack pick up the pieces and come together to right past wrongs, or is history destined to repeat itself?

So I started off with book 1 and it took me a while to get into it, but when I started book 2, I couldn’t put it down! There might not be action packed scenes but they where still enthralling! Finished it in a day and now I’m off to nr 3

I love the changes being made to this series. The original book 1 was split into parts. THIS is part 2, so when I state it was a little long in my original review remember that I meant as a whole (almost 500 pages).

I read this almost 5 years ago when it was originally released. Here is my review.

I really liked this book! At some points it seemed like a little too much description but by the end WOW, I am so happy I bought the second one this morning! This is a twist on the paranormal that I have never read before, I am still newish to paranormal but this was really good! The characters are well developed, and it is very clear whose point of view each chapter are in. The transitions were wonderful also! Very well done! Now to start the next book in the series! I don't picture getting alot done this weekend. No complaints there!

An excellent sequel - the characters are growing and changing in complex and interesting ways. The story feels fresh, there are fascinating developments, a few new characters, and new, but not new, dog.

    Excited to continue this series!

I really love the world of this series. There's so much history that we're steadily learning about, it's completely captivating. That said, the ending of this book destroyed my heart. It's gone. Dust. Until I get to read the next book. I'm so deeply enchanted by these wonderful characters and the little nuggets of knowledge we're picking up, I can't wait for part 3! I more questions now than when I started, and it's AWESOME!
