But it has a cost.
Custody of his brother hinges on the success of his project. He cannot fail. The mysterious and beautiful Julia could be the answer he’s been wishing for or a dangerous distraction.
With desire literally exploding between them, everything they have worked for is on the line. Can they keep their distance or will they risk it all for love?

About the author

Piper Sheldon writes Contemporary Romance and Paranormal Romance. Her books are a little funny, a lotta romantic, and with just a little twist of something more. She lives with her husband, daughter, and elderly dog at home in the desert Southwest. She finds writing bios in the third person an extreme sport of awkwardness.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2022I recently discovered Piper Sheldon and am in awe of her writing! I love this series thus far, and think this book was better than the first one! I adore the nerdiness and dorkiness of Julia, Nathaniel and their little group. It was great to see Roe and Maggie, and even “OG”. Also, that office scene was 🔥, IYKYK. Can’t wait to read whatever is next in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2022Yeah, this is a fun story in it’s creativity. To consider having a talent like that and no one around that can teach you how to handle your difference, or to talk to when the frustration seems too much. The bad guys unfortunately seem to describe actual people in the news, so perhaps the talented person also exist. 💜
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2021Author Piper Sheldon nicely summed up the themes of ‘The Untouched’ in her author’s note where she wrote, “People have hope. People endure. Evil loses, LOVE ALWAYS wins.”
‘The Untouched’ follows ‘The Unseen’ in Sheldon’s paranormal romance series, which features modern day super (s)heroes. They don’t always know they’re heroes, and they go through a lot to get to their happily ever afters, but the reward certainly is satisfying.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2021I connected with Julia right from the start. Not being able to touch or be touched is such a burden and it is written so so well. Nathaniel is so real and relatable with his struggles too. Their love story which seems impossible is full of ups and downs. The whole book is just so well written and paranormal without being too far out there. Definitely recommend this and actually every book by Piper Sheldon.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2021Piper Sheldon has created a magical and magnetic world with her self-published series. An enchanting cast of characters lends itself to the exciting narrative. Add a splash of suspense, a side of steam, and full-on feels and you have the perfect summer read.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2021I'm having difficulty even putting into words how much I enjoyed this book! The Untouched is like the movie The Incredibles and the TV show Scorpion got together and had a book baby of the romance persuasion. There's electric chemistry (pun intended), lots of funny banter, and just enough action and suspense to ensure you won't be able to put this one down.
I absolutely fell in love with these characters. Julia's story is heartbreaking. She is an incredible, intelligent, warm, selfless woman, but she's also hopelessly lonely. She has these insane abilities, but because she can't understand or control them, she can't settle anywhere or form connections out of fear of hurting someone. Nathaniel is a brilliant self-professed dork - but as Julia said "Dorks are the ones who change the world for the better" 😊. He's also charming, supportive, and fiercely loyal. Nathaniel's group of misfit friends/coworkers are amazing, and I hope we have reason to see them (along with Nathaniel's brother, Lincoln) in future books!
The story is original, engaging, emotional, and unlike anything else I've read. I was obsessed from the first chapter. In fact, I did something with this book that I don't think I've ever done - I finished reading it, and picked it back up to reread two days later! Especially when you consider that paranormal romance is something I typically steer clear of, that hopefully gives you an idea of just how much of an impression The Untouched made on me. HIGHLY recommend!

- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 20214.5 Stars!
I have been waiting for this book since I finished The Unseen. This book is a perfect follow up. It checks so many boxes for me. Nerdy smart hero, enough suspense to keep me attached to my kindle until I was finished, and an underlying super hero-ish character arc that had me cheering from start to finish!
Piper Sheldon has a unique voice in her books. She writes amazing heroines that just shine through the pages (you see what I did there? If not, read this book!)
All that I have left to say is, I want more. I want more of these strong female protagonists, nerdy swoony book boyfriends, and definitely I NEED more OG/Angel.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2021I’m not sure how to explain how much I loved this story. Julia is a fascinating character and her expertise gets her a job working with her big crush, Nathaniel And not just a normal physical crush, but like a brain crush too. When they are hot and brilliant and just swoony.
I barely read any paranormal stories, but the humanity in this book floored me. You could feel viscerally how much Julia wanted to be “normal” and touch Nathaniel. But alas, she keeps killing her plants, so she’s pretty sure a romantic entanglement is out of the question. Despite this obvious roadblock, this books gets pretty steamy!! Scientists are known problem solvers!!
This book was almost too smart for me with all the light wave speak, but I loved the nerd convention that is Nathaniel’s project team. And, even better was how they welcomed Julia into their exclusive club of awesomeness.
Nathaniel was not just a hot nerd, he was also a terrific brother. The myriad of ways he tried to help his little brother was so heart wrenching.
This book just brought out all the emotions! But the good vs. evil showdown at the end was THE BEST! Loved this book so much!
I received an advance reader copy of this book from the author and these are my honest opinions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scorcher
Initially there seemed to be no real connection between this and book one in the series, but the more you read , the more the dots join up. So I advise you to read The Unseen before The Untouched.
I think romantic, paranormal suspense covers it best, and the writing is beautiful.
