4.4 out of 5 stars 1,001 ratings

“Has all the ingredients for an instant success: plots, counterplots, mystery, valiant knights, and blossoming relationships replete with broken hearts, deception and betrayal. It will keep you entertained for hours, and will satisfy all ages. Recommended for the permanent library of all fantasy readers.”

“The beginnings of something remarkable are there.”
--San Francisco Book Review (re A Quest of Heroes)

From #1 bestseller Morgan Rice, author of A Quest of Heroes (over 1,300 five star reviews) comes a startlingly new fantasy series.

In THRONE OF DRAGONS (Age of the Sorcerers—Book Two) King Godwin mobilizes his army to cross the great bridge and invade the South to rescue his 17 year old daughter, Lenore. But Lenore is imprisoned deep in the South, under the watchful and hateful eye of King Ravin, and she may have to learn to escape herself first if she has any chance of escape.

Her brother Rodry, though, is way ahead of the King’s men, deep in hostile territory, alone on a mission to save his sister—while her other brother, Vars, offers a lesson in cowardice and betrayal.

Devin follows Gray, eager to learn more about how to harness his powers and about who he is.

Greave travels to remote regions to find the house of scholars and to try to save his sister, Nerra.

But Nerra, sickened by the scale sickness, is dying on a remote isle once touched by dragons. And her only chance of survival may just compel her to risk it all.

And all of this will culminate in an epic battle that may just determine the fate of the two kingdoms.

AGE OF THE SORCERERS weaves an epic sage of love, of passion, of sibling rivalry; of rogues and hidden treasure; of monks and warriors; of honor and glory, and of betrayal, fate and destiny. It is a tale you will not put down until the early hours, one that will transport you to another world and have you fall in in love with characters you will never forget. It appeals to all ages and genders.

While some characters are predictable, almost boringly so, the story itself is weaving nicely into an epic tale. I haven't reviewed the previous 3 books, as I prefer to allow myself to really absorb the series before passing judgement. This review will also cover the others I've read.
The main characters are tedious: Erin in her stubborn ignorance; Vars in his cowardice; Lenore in her learned helplessness. The books pound into the reader's mind who they are with frustratingly monotonous and repetitive scenes. I do, however, rather enjoy that sentient dragons are becoming more important in the story. So, I will continue to read.
As an aside, I have found at least a dozen instances of poor grammar and/or misspellings. The author would do well to have future books proofread by more than one uninvolved party. It lends to his credibility as a writer, and is an annoying distraction to readers.

Wow, I rarely buy, and I do mean rarely, books over $1. Most of the time I have been content to wait till the price drops. But, I bought this one after being engrossed in the first. Now, I'm considering buying the third! This is a YA series, but as other reviews stated, it goes beyond age, and gender. Morgan's brand of storytelling is perfect, somehow making me feel as though I am there, watching these characters unfold, become the hero's they were destined to be. Or the coward is always a coward like Vars. Wish I had more stars to give. Thank you for sharing your friends! Amazing!

This book really gives me a lot of reminders of GOT. Although I will say I'm enjoying it a lot more than GOT. For example, you have your annoyingly naive Sansa character, your outcast magical type character, your Aria type character, the sniveling little brat you wish would have his head decorating a pike....character ;-). And there's a lot of lengthy establishment of characters going on.

That being said, I'm enjoying this far more than GOT. On top of that the pacing might be getting better after book 1 and part of book 2, so here's hoping. I would recommend giving this book a go if you have Kindle Unlimited or get it on discount.

Following on from my review of the first book, this second part of the series is even better in my opinion. The narratives move along nicely and there is quite a bit going on, with multiple story arcs and characters. Without any spoilers, I will say the brilliant mix of adventure, magic, betrayal and many more elements of fantasy are fully on displayed here. Still does not feel like it has reached anywhere near the peak of the story but it is building up nicely. Very excited to move o to book 3 and beyond. Again I would say a good recommendation of you like fantasy mixed with magic, dragons, sorcerers, kings and queens etc. The book series does not drag on at a snails pace but it also does not rush along unnecessarily either. Has a good pace to it. I have found this to generally be the case with Morgan's other books. It may not be for everyone but I personally really like it. The character developments are also good. Not as overly in-depth as some other series I've read, but also not rushed and too simplistic either. A good balance.
