The Love Playbook (Marycliff Football 4) Kindle Edition
I'm the only football player with no game—a fact my teammates often delight in pointing out. In fact, I can't even tell when someone is flirting with me. Football and school have been my priorities, but somewhere along the way I missed out on all the normal relationship stuff my friends did.
Now I'm a junior in college, and I've only ever kissed one girl in my whole life.
Until Autumn.
And for some reason, she wants to help me out. Be my love tutor, she says.
The thought of taking her up on her offer makes me want to incinerate from embarrassment ...
But if I don't, I might miss my only chance to catch up.
The Love Playbook is a standalone love tutor romance featuring a shy, straight-laced football player and the off beat woman who turns his world upside down. HEA guaranteed!

- Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2022Jackson was a virgin and Autumn was kind of an expert on how to make sex fun. She offered to help Jackson learn what to do and how to act around ladies. He takes her up on the offer but things kind of get out of hand when he starts having feelings for her. She is afraid of relationships due to the fact her parents were not happy and finally divorced. She thinks that all good things end badly.
After they have all the lessons she thinks he needs she breaks it off and tells him they are done. He will not take breaking up as being final, he wants her and will do want needs to be done to get her. He does and gets their HEA.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2022The Love Playbook is a fun read. You have Autumn who is a free spirit and is more than what she seems. Jackson is the biggest sweetheart ever. Jackson has had his blinders on when it comes to women forever and with reason. Autumn is up for the challenge of teaching Jackson what she knows so he can feel comfortable dating. The virgin and his temptress. The chemistry is red hot when it comes to Autumn and Jackson. They are different but they make so much sense. You feel for Autumn and her view on relationships. You feel for Jackson when it comes to his view on sex. There are a few slow moments in this one, but it really makes up for it when it all comes together in the end. I love Autumn and Jackson together. They both go through some big changes, and I love how close they become. You are going to have so much fun reading this one. Go one click it today.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2023This book, with Jackson and Autumn, is my favorite of the series. A completely different approach than the last few books. Gray and Tiff had me stalling out a bunch throughout their book. But the Love Playbook was fun and easy to keep going through to the end.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2022Jackson is the sweet boy next door kinda guy that is still a virgin. Autumn is a more of free spirit and she offers to be Jackson's Love Tutor to help him feel more comfortable talking to women. Of course they both realized they bit off more than they could chew with this little arrangement. This was one of my favorites of the series so far. I loved finally getting to know Autumn more in this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2022I don’t usually care for college romance because most of the ones I’ve read are either immature or like this one, lacking in the HEA/closure. Without direct spoilers, this seems to be an HFN not a true HEA since the epilogue is for the next book and not Jackson and Autumn and while that may change if I go onto read the next story, this is advertised as a standalone and an HEA and I didn’t feel like that’s how it was actually written.
As far as the characters go, I did not like Ellie (bff) at all. Even if she was worried about Autumn she didn’t act like it and instead sounded judgmental and jealous. But that also adds to my earlier statement about lacking epilogues because this book mentions how both Ellie and Piper both had boyfriends who had played with the other guys before being drafted so I’m assuming based on another review I read that they had their own books yet no updates on them and it seems they’re doing long distance but nothing is ever mentioned about them seeing their bf’s or ever talked about them.
So overall, I liked the way it was flipped to the H being the virgin unlock how so many other authors write the H to be a playboy while the h is the innocent virgin. However I don’t like how Autumn was $!ut shamed by her friends and the guys. But the story was cute and I really liked Jackson.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2023First time reading this author and first thing I did, after reading the book in a day, was follow Jerica. Love her writing style and her ability to create characters brimming with personality and emotions was top notch! You’ve got to read this book!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2022I was so excited to get Autumn's story. I've loved her since the 1st book in this series.
This was a fun opposite attract, Virgin hero romance. I love that the Female MC was the one in charge in the bedroom. And I think Autumn says it best when she describes Jackson as "adorable " because he really is.
Ellie was a little disappointing in the first half of the book. She is Autumn's best friend and Autumn was so supportive of Ellie in book one. I found her lack of support to be a little bit mean spirited and misplaced at the beginning.
An overall fun addition to this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2022I couldn't put this story down from the first paragraph. I really like how the story changed from a girl who is inexperienced to a boy. It was refreshing to see the change where an educated woman is showing a man how to be intimate. This was a delightful well thought out plot.

4.0 out of 5 stars loved it
The love playbook was an adorable sports romance about two opposites that definitely attracted each other.
Autumn is a strong female character that is sexually confident and goes for what she wants. Jackson is a shy athlete who is awkward around the opposite sex.
Autumn offers to help him by having them pretend to date while they explore the chemistry that is building between them. Their love story is simply beautiful.
What starts with awkward conversations and awkward firsts turns into something something so pure, raw and passionate.
This is my first book from Jerica MacMillan and I’m so excited to see what she comes out with next. The Love Playbook is now available!
