What a great addition to the series!
This has to be my favourite Z series, Jacy Morris is a very unique writer, his ability to describe action scenes puts you right in the thick of the action, this addition to the series is no different and also by the same token, he can even describe opening a desk and make it interesting, so vivid is his writing technique.
The author also lets his characters breathe, they all get their space and you understand precisely why they are doing what they do.
Another thing I love about these books is the author doesn't play favourites, do not get attached to anybody, it's an apocalypse...the author giveth and the author taketh away!

This one hits the ground running, literally, we're back at the beginning of the outbreak as a lonely lighthouse keeper starts to realise what is going on in "the outside world" as he sees the carnage unfold, he understands fully what is going on due to his hobby and that gives him a great deal of believable pragmatism when certain situations arise.

You could read this as a standalone, but you would be missing so much background story, I highly recommend you buy the previous books in the series to meet, love....and mourn... the great characters that populate the series!

The ending came fast and disastrous.. although I think I know maybe what’s going to happen because of the first part of Book 1.. the bowling ball.. I just never know if any of the characters are safe! It’s like the world is conspiring against everyone, not just the zombies.. the weather especially! Good series! On to the next one😜

It was easy to rate this book as there are very few authors who once I discover where I tear thru 9 of the author's books in less than a week. I started the series on audible but sadly at the time only 2 books were available which meant I had to find time to read them which was a challenge as I'm a full time nanny & mom of 5. This zombie series had me so hooked that I'm devastated that book 5 isn't yet released, especially after just reading one heck of a well written cliffhanger ending that left me biting my practically nonexistent nails(seriously this author is a truly gifted storyteller from this zombie series to Enemies of Our Ancestors who excels at not just capturing your interest but creates characters who are easy to become invested with as you follow them from beginning to end). I hope that the next book is released soon.

I enjoyed this series of books immensely. The characters are good and bad but you root for most of them anyway. It kept me coming back for more with hope and sadness.I don't know if I could endure what these characters have but I do believe that I would give it a try. It's better than the alternative. I am a constant reader and I would recommend this series to all who enjoy horror and a well told tale. Looking forward to the finale.

This Rotten World is one of my favorite zombie series. From book 1 the story has been brutal and you just shouldn't get attached to anyone. Now mother nature is getting in on the action of trying to kill our two bands of survivors. We also meet a few new characters with challenges of their own. Between the cold and the snow along with other unscrupulous humans everyone is trying to make it to the coast. But winter isn't the only trick mother has ip her sleeve.

This series of books...I love Jacy and then I find myself hating him! Damn it!

This series is about the end on civilization via a zombie outbreak. It is painfully realistic. I don't wanna give any thing away. I just finished #4 ( with #5 and 6 waiting on my shelf).

I can't say enough good things (and I never leave reviews). This deserves to be a Netflix series.

    Thank you, Jacy.

There are some details that don’t make sense. Then the added disasters were just a bit too over the top for me. But it’s a fun ride.

I can't recommend this book highly enough. I've got in trouble reading it while I should be working. It's impossible to put it down. Exciting, nail biting stuff. He's not afraid to kill of main characters, a few which I've become quite attached to.
This covers everything other zombie books leave out. Childbirth, small kids etc. This is probably the best zombie series I've read and I've read a lot.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome series with one nagging issue

I totally recommend this series to any fan of zombie fiction. Without hesitation. I do wonder if the writing was reviewed by an editor - the reason I say that is words are frequently repeated in quick succession (same sentence, or two in a row) which gets distracting after a while. Like "the toilet paper situation was a problem. He'd have to consider another approach to the situation." (Hypothetical example). Regardless - it's still a must-read for fans of the genre.

I love zombie apocalypse books and this series is one of the best I've read. Brilliant, believable, characters fighting to survive the constant onslaught of "Annies". Brutal and hard to stomach at times but always exciting and scary, illustrating the worst.. and the best of human nature.
