Unlawful Entry: A McLain's Last Chance Novel Kindle Edition
Jesse McLain lives on the wrong side of the law.
I've had to arrest him more times than I can count.
But something's different about this time.
He's different.
I think, for once in his life, he might be innocent.
But there's nothing innocent about the way he stares at me during the strip search.
And after one forbidden night with him in his cell, I realize...
I'm guilty as sin.
Jesse
All I feel is rage, the injustice of life coming out in pure fury.
I need someone to hold me back, hold me down. Overpower me.
Tell me it's okay.
Sheriff Wyatt Locke can't be the man who does that.
We're from opposite sides of the track.
Opposite sides of the law.
But when the cuffs go on, I'm his.
I can tell him almost anything.
Almost.
The one thing I can't tell him, could tear us apart.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2021I was pleasantly surprised about this book. Unlawful Entry is a good quick read. I loved the main characters, Wyatt the Sheriff and Jesse, the town’s rehabilitated bad boy.
I felt the chemistry between both and the sex scenes were hot! I liked that there was a plot and not just hot steamy scenes, don’t get me wrong, that would have been ok with me 😉
The twist at the end of the book had me laughing. I honestly did not see that coming. It made sense specially with past history between both families
I would highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2019Such a wonderful story! I like RK's writing a lot. The characters were excellent, the fun times extremely steamy, and the whole book a joy to read.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2019This book is Stupendous. I tried but I could find nothing wrong. The plot was really and I mean really Great and last but not least the characters were far out and believable. The best is the Ending. I found it hard for Wyatt and Jesse could be couple, but I became thoroughly convinced. I will leave you with this thought. If you don't get and read this book you will be missing out on one of the great books of 2019.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2019On the surface Wyatt and Jesse are all wrong for each other but deep inside, where it counts, they couldn't be more perfect. I really enjoyed following along as the came to realize that, all a very enjoyable read.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2020So far, I have absolutely loved everything I've read by Rachel Kane, but I have issues with this one. The main one being that I'm not a fan of Wyatt & I didn't find that little secret at the end to be at all cute. The reason that I love Kane's writing is her grasp, writing & handling of psychological issues. Usually her pairings find a balance & healthy kind of love that makes me all kinds of sappy, hopeful & inspired. I so wanted this to be like that because I feel for Jesse so much; his impotent rage at being in a situation he can't escape because strong family ties can strangle the life & individuality out of you. If he & Wyatt had had a bit of something simmering before the events in this story, then maybe I could have been more for them getting together when Jesse GOT OUT OF JAIL, but the fact that the strip search & power imbalance is what got both guys going raised so many red flags for me. The scene with Finley should have been a wakeup call for Wyatt that his fantasies of doing things to Jesse while in jail were 100% unacceptable, but instead he uses the aftermath to make his move? Seriously?! I was honestly amazed that Finley didn't linger at the jail, spy the couple having sex & take video or photos to use against the Sheriff & I kind of wish he had because I have real issues with sanctimonious a*holes who preach better & know better, but allow themselves to do whatever because they just see themselves or their position/status as better. And Wyatt is totally one of those a*holes when he goes off & steals the money, let's Jesse tear himself up over it & keeps it in his safe claiming he's doing it for Jesse. GTFO! The whole McLain family needs that money; either for it to have been recovered in full to clear their name or for it to be easing the financial burdens that have the sons all stuck in the same situation that has messed up so much of their lives & for Wyatt to have treated Jesse like garbage for just having knowledge that the money was hidden somewhere ... I really just hate Wyatt. There are just too many signs that his brand of bdsm & control is a single argument away from being outright abuse & Jesse, big as he is, was obviously vulnerable to that kind of relationship. I wanted & expected better for him.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2019Not to begin at the end but I loved the way this book ended. Leaving Wyatt and Jesse the way this author did was fantastic. I just adored it. Now Wyatt and Jesse, so different but so right for one another. Jesse, bad boy, bad reputation, wrong side of the tracks all around not the man for Wyatt. Wrong on so many levels. Perfect for him, perfect fit and a relationship is born that ignites the fire within both men. This story absolutely consumed my time. Absolutely loved revisiting Rhodes and the McLain family. Loved the tension, the forbidden and loved that Wyatt’s sense of right forJesse, even if right is a gray area, was so strong that he took such a big risk. I’ll leave it at that. Basically, I loved this story. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2019I wasn't too sure what to expect next in this series but Jesse and Wyatt surprised me and I really liked the book. The 'naughtiness' of sneaking around, the whole good and bad concept. Another great read in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2019Jesse- a bad boy.
Wyatt - a policeman.
there's no more to say to that, don't you think? It was obvious from the beginning that it is an opposites attract story. Thief and police... Rough handcuffed action, no? I was in.
And yet, upon opening the book , what I found was well... SO MUCH MORE!!!
I will not spoil it for you, but the story's plot is great, the characters are very well created and the ending was amazing!
I found so much more than what I bargained for!
Give it a try, you won't regret it!
This book is part of a series, but it CAN be read as a stand alone. Still I recommend to read the series, al the characters in this world are very well created and they stick with you for a while.
